Do not buy Chubb Travel or Home Insurance.
Worst insurance I've had in 25 years.
- The automated web system denies all claims.
- Customer service is impossible to reach.
- 3 weeks to respond to any message.
- But they call/message/email/text to renew.
Never again.

Extremely poor experience after a knee injury abroad. Delays in treatment, constant miscommunication, and even initial confusion over whether I was covered at all.
Felt heavily pressured into repatriation with little notice and no proper planning, while my medical needs were clearly not the priority. Communication was chaotic — missed calls, no follow-ups, and requests for call records were ignored.
Support only improved after repeated complaints and escalation.
Overall: stressful, disorganised, and far below the standard expected from a major insurer.

Supported Every Step During a Travel Medical Emergency
Chubb Travel Insurance truly took care of us when we needed it most. While travelling on holidays overseas, we experienced a medical episode that required a hospital visit and several follow up medical appointments over the following week.
Chubb covered all of our medical expenses and also reimbursed the travel plans we had to miss, including accommodation, tours and flights. They even covered the additional accommodation we needed to book near the hospital while receiving treatment.
We’re incredibly grateful for the support and peace of mind during such a stressful time. Thank you, Chubb, for looking after us so well.

This company is way beyond impossible to deal with. They lowball everything if you have an incident - I mean not enough to pay half the repair costs. They also take months to do it. BEYOND HORRIBLE COMPANY. They should not be allowed to be in business. Very unethical company. Stay away and if someone hits you - refuse to deal with them and have the person pay you for repairs - just refuse to deal with their insurance because you will be driven crazy only to be paid tens cents on the dollar.
Never buy from this company
Never buy from this company. The policy wordings state that one must seek medical treatment while overseas first before being eligible to continue treatment after arriving back in your home country. I fell sick (had diarheara) ON THE PLANE BACK. It was a 13 hour journey. There was definitely no way to get any doctor or seek medical treatment. Despite all my documentations and appeals, they stuck to just few of those clauses and reply you flatly.
Most, if not majority of TRAVEL insurances cover at least a 24-hr post-journey window period for any medical expenses claim. This company is ridiculous. NEVER BUY FROM CHUBB TRAVEL INSURANCE.

Terrible company. Make the process extremely challenging and you have to pay for the first . Go somewhere else. Shocked that they are allowed to operate in the EU and UK. Avoid!
Frustrating and Time-Consuming Claims Process
My recent experience with this travel insurance company has been extremely disappointing. My original flight was delayed, causing me to miss my connection and leaving me stranded in Istanbul for nearly 24 hours. While the airline provided a hotel and transport, I attempted to file a claim for the significant inconvenience of the delay itself, including the loss of a day of annual leave.
The claims process has been an absolute nightmare. The company's response time is glacial, and they operate a constant 'moving goalpost' system, requesting a different piece of information, usually requiring me to contact the airline with every communication.
After one month, my claim remains unresolved and stuck in this endless cycle of requests. The administrative effort and time ("work") required to simply pursue the claim have honestly exceeded the modest compensation I would receive. This process feels intentionally designed to be so arduous and frustrating that the customer simply gives up.
I purchased travel insurance for peace of mind, believing I was entitled to fair compensation for my loss of time. Instead, I'm left feeling that the policy is essentially worthless due to the unworkable and draining claims procedure. Still not resolved.

They said Medical Expenses are covered in Policy Wording which I read every single details. Came back with food poisoning and now they said under Benefits Schedule (the general page) it is not covered (and I seek doctor within 48hours). Never met an insurance company that does not cover basic medical consultation upon returning to home!

I bought this travel insurance expecting peace of mind—but what I got was chaos and disappointment. My nephew, visiting for just 10 days, developed fever and cold-like symptoms. We contacted the insurance company hoping to get him proper care.
They sent us to a tiny clinic in Florida that couldn’t even run basic blood tests. The doctor guessed it might be dengue—but without lab work, it couldn't be confirmed. So we got a referral to a hospital…and that’s where things got even worse.
Suddenly, the insurance said we had to pay out of pocket first, and they’d “evaluate later” if they’d cover the costs. That’s not protection—that’s abandonment. ER visits in the U.S. easily cost $1,000+. Why offer coverage if you vanish when it’s needed most?
This company left us to handle everything alone. Don’t make the same mistake.

Nos enviaron a una pequeña clínica en Florida que ni siquiera podía realizar análisis de sangre básicos. El médico dijo que podría tratarse de dengue, pero sin exámenes de laboratorio no se podía confirmar. Así que nos dieron una referencia para ir al hospital… y ahí las cosas empeoraron.
De pronto, el seguro dijo que teníamos que pagar de nuestro bolsillo primero, y que “evaluarían después” si cubrirían los costos. Eso no es protección, es abandono. Una visita a urgencias en EE. UU. fácilmente cuesta más de $1,000. ¿Para qué ofrecen cobertura si desaparecen justo cuando más se necesita?
Esta compañía nos dejó solos. No cometan el mismo error.

I submitted a medical claim in mid May and my case is still unresolved. I have sent reminder emails to which I do not get a response.
Chubb - please finalise my claim asap. It's a fairly straightforward claim for a very legitimate and substantiated tropical illness.

Excellence in travel insurance services
I booked my trip with chubb in December. Due to unforeseen events we had to cancel our trip. Our claim was for travel expenses and it was handled very professionally and we received our travel expenses reimbursement within 2 weeks. I don't understand why some people are writing negative reviews, we had no problem communicating with them, they responded to emails the same day. We gladly recommend.
