Very disappointed with my experience with Doyle Salewski.

Their advertising gives the impression that they are there to help people navigate difficult insolvency situations, but when I actually needed assistance with an old bankruptcy file, I felt like I was simply passed along and told to contact someone else.

I contacted them with a legitimate situation involving an undischarged 2011 bankruptcy. The OSB confirmed that the original trustee is no longer active and specifically suggested contacting another LIT, including Raymond Chabot, to determine what happened with the file. Doyle ultimately told me they could not assist because they were not the trustee responsible for my estate and directed me elsewhere.

My biggest frustration is that the advertising makes it sound like people in difficult financial situations will receive guidance and support, but my experience was essentially being told, "not our file, contact someone else."

I understand that there can be legal and professional limitations on what an LIT can do with another trustee's file. What I don't appreciate is feeling like someone in financial distress is simply being passed from one place to another without meaningful guidance.

If your situation is complicated or involves an older bankruptcy, I would recommend asking very specific questions about whether they can actually assist with your particular file before assuming they can help.

This was not the level of assistance or guidance I expected based on how the services are presented.

Shelley and Tracey are true professionals with big hearts. They were able to sort out a plan that worked for everyone.

I had a consultation with Andrea Fumerton from Doyle Salewski, INC and it was one of the most straightforward and honest conversations I’ve had in this space.

After reviewing my situation, she told me clearly that a consumer proposal was not the right option for me. Not because they couldn’t do it, but because it would likely cost me more in the long run and negatively impact my credit unnecessarily.

What stood out was that she didn’t try to “sell” me into their service. Instead, she pointed me toward other options, including speaking with my bank about a line of credit, and even suggested alternatives outside their firm. That level of transparency is rare.

The conversation itself was easy, respectful, and very open. I felt I could be completely honest without being pushed in any direction.

In the end, I didn’t move forward with their services, but that’s exactly why I’m leaving this review. They showed real integrity by putting my situation first.

Highly recommended based on that experience alone.

This review may be alittle late however what made my experience the best is the transparency in communication and the prompt response. In the initial meeting Beatrice explained everything and laid out all my options to help me regain my financial freedom. Not only did they help me throughout the entire embarrassing situation they helped me feel comfortable and after I had completed my proposal in March 2024, they guided me in the best ways to maintain financial freedom and ways to rebuild my credit. I highly recommend them, any problem I ever faced they always have helped.

I wish I could write a positive review as everyone else. Unfortunately, my meeting i left worse than going in. I thought I was going to receive a summary of the call as I was told. And also that I could reach out anytime. However that wasn't the case. I also emailed for a summary but was ignored.

I met with Beatrice and she made me feel at ease right away. No judgement when I explained my situation. She explained everything clearly and was very helpful. I felt all that pressure and fear disappear after I met with her. Highly recommend Beatrice and Doyle and Salewski.

Beatrice met with us and spent time outlining priorities for climbing out of debt. She was patient, understanding and proactive. Brian even popped-in to the meeting to greet us and to express his complete trust in Beatrice's advice and professionalism. Thank you so much to this company!

Within 30 minutes of speaking with Doyle Salewski, I felt the weight lifted off my shoulders. The whole process was so easy and they made me feel at ease. Thank you so much!
