There are deeply concerning issues surrounding the treatment of staff at Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg. Staff are reportedly being overworked, placed under enormous pressure, and subjected to bullying and intimidation. It is extremely disturbing to see staff becoming so distressed that they are left crying at work.

There also appears to be a pattern, over many years, of experienced staff being pushed out of their positions through what employees perceive as unfair disciplinary processes or dismissals. Meanwhile, the remaining staff are expected to carry increasing workloads while being threatened with consequences when things go wrong.

One of the most serious concerns is the apparent lack of support from some unit managers. Complaints and calls from junior staff are allegedly ignored or not attended to, leaving junior employees to deal with difficult situations, operational risks and immense stress without adequate leadership support.

If unit managers are not responding to staff concerns, properly managing their units or being held accountable for their performance, then the consequences inevitably fall on the people working at the frontline. When problems occur, staff appear to be blamed rather than the underlying leadership and management failures being properly investigated.

A healthcare facility cannot function safely or effectively when its staff are frightened, exhausted and unsupported. Staff wellbeing directly affects patient care, workplace safety and the quality of the service provided.

Mediclinic needs to seriously examine what is happening at management level at Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg. Independent investigation, proper accountability and a safe mechanism for staff to raise concerns without fear of retaliation are urgently needed.

The problem cannot continually be placed on junior staff when the real issue may be a failure of leadership and oversight. Staff deserve to be treated with dignity, supported when they raise legitimate concerns, and managed fairly.

Sol was super professional, the appointment was quick without being rushed, and the after care was great. All of the staff are lovely, a very welcoming reception team which also just makes it a nice experience ❤️

Following treatment at this clinic ,exactly 13 days ago i developed a hematoma and bruising that is still visible today .I contacted the clinic several times ,provided photographs and raised concerns about the outcome .
When I reported the issue ,I was told Sol ,who carried out the treatment will see me in two weeks .
Given the symptoms I was experiencing,I was disappointed with the level of aftercare and follow up.
The clinic later offered me a refund in writing offering me a refund for my troubles .However
I was informed by phone that a refund will not be provided .
My original review is no longer visible ,and I did not remove it myself.which is why I am sharing my experience again .I am posting this so others can make an informed decision .My concerns not only relate to treatment outcome but also to the way my concerns were handled afterwards.
