I am so impressed with Tony and his team at the Derby branch!

My clutch failed on Monday afternoon and I was a bit frantic. One quick call and I was booked in for the Thursday / Friday, with a tow scheduled to get my car in safely.

Easiest and most efficient tow ever on the Thursday afternoon and before it was even mid-day on Friday, Tony was calling to confirm the work was done!

My car drives like a dream now - gear changes so delicious I considered taking the long route back home!

The whole team are kind, efficient, and clearly know their stuff! I felt so comfortable with them the whole time!

I cannot recommend A1 enough - thank you for getting us back on the road so quickly and smoothly!

I broke down on the outskirts of Derby, heading for Yorkshire, and suspected the clutch on my Corsa needed replacing. After talking to one or two smaller garages locally who were too busy to fit me in, I was recommended to call A1 Clutches. I did, and spoke to Tony, who got me to bring the car in straightaway and he rearranged a few things in the workshop so that they could fix my car and get me back on the road. I was on my way to the M1 by 4pm, having dropped it off around 2.30pm. They saved me!

We are SO impressed by this company. From the first call to the end result, they were honest, transparent and the customer service was amazing.
I called, got a quote within half an hour, booked my car in. Some extra work needed doing once clutch was stripped back and they sent me a video explaining why. Following up with a phone call to explain and to ask if I approved the extra work. Offered me a car to drive whilst mine was in, made us a coffee while we dropped the car off… I have nothing but good things to say about this company and I highly recommend them. Thank you all for helping me and fitting me. My family and I can go away on Monday now all thanks to you!!! Amazing service. Much appreciated

I cannot recommend this garage highly enough. From my initial enquiry through to the completion of my clutch replacement, the customer service was exceptional.

The team were friendly and professional. Everything was explained clearly, the work was completed promptly, and the quality of the workmanship was excellent. It was reassuring to deal with people who were honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to providing first-class customer service.

The price for the clutch replacement was extremely competitive and represented excellent value for money. The provision of a courtesy car was also greatly appreciated and made the whole experience completely stress-free, allowing me to carry on with my daily commitments while my car was being repaired.

My car is now driving perfectly, and I am delighted with both the service and the standard of work. Thank you to everyone involved. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this garage to family and friends and will certainly return for any future repairs.

I dealt with Raj at A1 Cannock and he delivered all the services he promised. Picked up my vehicle from my home address mid morning contacted me following proper vehicle inspection to confirm what work was needed and price work completed by 3.30pm and available for collection all for the price originally quoted
On payment Raj confirmed the work completed by reviewing the invoice with me highlighting the warranties. Excellent service and management of my vehicle repair. I would most highly recommend this depot

Called the Derby branch today asking about DSG gearbox repairs and person who answered was quite abrupt and said we don't do DGS repairs. I informed him that your website said you did and he got annoyed and said we don't do it anymore. So I asked him to update their website and he got further agitated and just said ok and put the phone down. May be he was having a bad day but terrible response! Would anyone recommend someone like this?

The mechanics and staff at Cannock were more than helpful and without drama very quickly had my van back on the road after a breakdown. They are professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I happily recommend them .

Okay then. So A1 Clutches in Cannock just pulled a miracle again. Took my car with a suspected clutch problem,which turn out to be true. Also mentioned I might have problem with rear brakes. Guess what? The time they called me,that my car is ready,I picked up almost a new car. Everything they had done is perfect,fixed the brakes too. Excellent communication,very fast servicing and very friendly vibe. The only garage I take my car with mechanical problem,they have never let me down and always up for a challenge,also very good pricing. Big thanks for the entire team. A1 definitely the one garage I would recommend.

Absolutely brilliant staff well spoken and polite And the mechanics were fantastic. Found a fault with my gear box while replacing a full clutch and fly wheel.Told me the part wouldn't be in until Monday morning so they lent me a little car to get me to work.Highly recommended 👌 Good price good service and a great eye for detail. Thanks lads for everything.

Broken bonnet strut was left in wrong position cathing on wing channel.(broken b4 going to A1)
Brake fluid topped up to much.
Broken exhaust mounting point, they said already like it.
But mate put new flexi part on and it was all ok then, hmmm.
Receit a joke, no breakdown of parts used, Labour or vat.
Not a good price as we found out to late.
Clutch works ok but could not recommend to anyone else.

Had a clutch slipping on my Toyota Yaris and rang A1 Clutched up ask about fitting me a new one? it was a Friday and they gave me a great quote and managed to fit me in for the next day. Been two weeks now and car drives fantastic! would highly recommend this garage. the mechanic who fitted my clutch was called Pierrot, A* service

Great service, explained everything, nice video showing what needed to be done, completed for the required date.

Clutch gone on Mokka booked in for 26th and was given video footage of my car showing that the clutch, flywheel and slave cylinder damaged.
Work was carried out quickly on my car and I was able to pick up the next day 27th as I needed my car for work.
The whole process was easily and clearly explained.
Polite receptionist and shout out to Guri for his help.

Great service from start to finish 👏

After using A1 clutches 3 times now I will not be returning. I first used them a good few years back firstly on my 207 around 2021i think, no problems. Secondly was on my corsa around 23/4. Clutch work. Upon collecting my corsa, I broke down in the middle of the Bham new road unable to move my car, clutch to the floor, they did come to my rescue and sorted it. So I left a positive review for that.

This time was on my juke, it went in February this year. Clutch. Slave. DMF. When I collected the car, the wheel arch plastic was hanging off. Amrik did sort this for me which I was grateful for, but they wasn’t hanging off when I dropped the car off. Apparently they “hadn’t touched that” the car was covered in black finger prints aswell. 10 days after collecting my car I rang the garage about a clunking noise when changing gear and accelerating. Amrik told me to leave it “bed in” for 500miles so I took he’s advice. I had drove the car a good 700 mile and still the same so I took it back beginning of April and had a technician who was lovely might I add, come on a test drive with me. He admitted he could hear the noise but it being so faint he was unable to distinguish where it was coming from and told me to bring it back if it got worse. Over the last month, it’s terrible. There’s a clink when I rev over 2500rpm, so Tuesday 12th may I rang up and spoke to a lovely receptionist, I told her that I was still having trouble, told her my symptoms. Not once did I say “it knocks over bumps” I told her it ls a single clunk when I rev and come off over 2500rpm, and the clunk is louder when the car is warm.

14/5/26 I drop my car off, amrik calls me around 12pm - tells me that he can’t find the clunk, it’s been over bumps etc and no clunk. Not once did I say it does it over bumps! That would be more suspension so I wouldn’t be bringing it back to a clutch specialist would I !!! He wouldn’t let me talk, kept talking over me whenever I tried to explain how to get the car to clunk, telling me that he didn’t know what I was on about. I told him to blip the revs, what mechanic doesn’t know what blip the revs means? As I was trying to explain he was undermining me and contradicting everything I said, making he’s own crap up as I went along. I even apologised for sounding rude, but after so many weeks of my car not being right since major work by he’s garage am I not allowed to be a little frustrated ? … he was very very rude and told me it was “tough” I told him he was talking rude to me and I got a “so what” I told him I’ve already brought the car back twice he then said “you can bring it back 100x it’s tough”

Wow, amazing customer service. I then told him to not touch my car and I’d be collecting it which I did roughly an hour or so later, guri handed me my keys, he’s lovely and very well mannered.

My car wasn’t even put on the ramps to have a look for the problem - it was just driven round the block in he’s words “over bumps” 😆

I won’t be in touch with A1 again and I will be seeking advice from elsewhere now.

I have to say I have never experienced such fantastic customer service. My clutch went when visiting my son, in Wolverhampton,he told me to go to a1 clutches and they were amazing went above and beyond to get my car fixed kept me informed throughout and was very impressed. Very reasonable price and so very professional. Cannot recommend them enough. Brilliant
