Balfe’s hackney are the bees knees
Balfe’s hackney are the bees knees! I came in with a tricky problem that so many other bike shops said they couldn’t help me with and here it was no problem. Mike the mechanic in particular was so kind and really solved a problem for me! I’m so grateful.

Poor workshop organisation and booking experience
Booked my bike in to the workshop 4 days in advance on a specific day as it said there was availability, only to be told on arrival that my bike wouldn’t be looked at for another week because the workshop was too busy. There was no effort to communicate this in the days beforehand, which could have saved me an hour long round trip.

We are sorry to see you had a bad experience with us in store and that we should have told you before that there would be a delay in the service. We are improving our systems and catching up on work to avoid this happening in the future.
Terrible warranty return experience.
I bought a new bike via Balfe's Bikes web store and it was built and prepared by the Hackney store.
Everybody was very helpful in person, but when, two weeks later, I tried to get a warranty replacement for a charger which had become dangerous, the company said that I had damaged it and would not replace it.
I had not damaged it. I was not believed and the company closed ranks and refused to entertain that is was a manufacturing problem.
It's not the cost of the charger, its the implications I was lying and trying to scam them that is so poor.
I will not buy anything from this company again.
