A Cautionary Tale: Why I strongly recommend against Spaces Coworking

I'm not the type to hastily post negative reviews. In fact, I usually keep my grievances to myself, as it takes quite a LOT to ruffle my feathers. In fact, I dont remember last time rating someone as 1 star.

So, I'm writing this review in the hopes that it might serve as a warning to others.

Initially, my experience with Spaces seemed promising. Upon checking in, the staff were friendly and efficient, helping me with paperwork and processing payments without a hitch. The facility itself was decent enough, conducive to work and well-maintained.

However, my positive impressions quickly soured once I checked out and attempted to reclaim my retainer. What should have been a straightforward process turned into a bureaucratic nightmare spanning four months. I was constantly shuffled between departments, dealing with a multitude of personnel, each asking for the same forms over and over again. There was zero accountability. There were zero issues from my side.

There seemed to be a lack of accountability and standard procedures for retainer refunds. While they were more than eager to assist during check-in, their enthusiasm vanished when it came to returning my retainer. The endless back-and-forth via email, coupled with apparent confusion among the staff, was not only frustrating but also time-consuming. It's kinda, I dont even know how to explain this. A simple straightforward procedure. Messed up to epic proportions.

At this point, the effort and time I've invested in trying to retrieve my retainer have far surpassed its actual value. Initially, I persisted out of principle. I persisted for 4 months. But now, I've decided to let it go, conceding defeat to the stress and inconvenience this ordeal has caused me.

I urge caution to anyone considering Spaces, especially travelers seeking a coworking space. If getting your retainer back is important to you, you might want to look elsewhere. Based on my experience, I hight recommend against spaces. Please save yourself the trouble and headache.

Friendly staff and easy access. I went to a Spaces office in Colombia and had the same way of working and style as Amsterdam. Free coffee, fast internet and not too crowded. Great experience. Maybe one thing that could be great to provide workdesks with an extra screen (e.g. against a fee and goes for all Spaces offices). Nowadays we love working with 2 screens.
