Wow great customer care
Wow! I’ve never had such amazing customer service like this before, they really went out of their way to help me and it was very much appreciated. I ordered a jet bracelet for my husband to replace one he recently lost and when it came I realized it was too small.I emailed to ask about a larger size but there wasn’t one available so over the course of a week or so and many more emails it was decided that they could make me one especially to fit ! They gave me various options and I chose to have the braided leather straps made specially longer, they also added a different clasp so my husband doesn’t lose this one! The emails and the help I received where so friendly and helpful and it was clear they really wanted to help me get this bracelet, my husband was beyond gobsmacked when I gave it him and there where a few happy tears all round when he opened it!

Excellent service
We called in to the Whitby Jet shop to buy a ring we had seen online. The size required was not in stock so we placed an order for delivery to home.
Every step of the process was handled very well and my wife is delighted with her new ring.

Lovely member of staff helped me with a ring which I wanted to buy. They didn’t have my size at the store so she contacted another one in Whitby and called me to let me know when it came into stock. I absolutely love this shop I’ve had a few things from them over the years including my engagement and wedding ring. I will continue to buy from here as the jewellery is beautiful and the service is excellent. So now I have my beautiful rose ring and also ordered another ring that’s being sent to my house. Fabulous shop I highly recommend

I bought some Whitby jet jewellery at…
I bought some Whitby jet jewellery at one of this company’s other shops based on the same street for my daughter,
I was told if the bracelet was too large to take it back and they would alter it free of charge,
I took it back today but the sister store I bought it from had closed down so went to this store,
I was told they couldn’t do it , it would have to be sent away at my cost and would take 6 weeks or more to get altered also at my cost
The sales assistant seemed more excited as when she read the receipt she knew the guy who had originally served me
All I got was “ oh it’s Paul, I will tell him one of his customers has been in”
Not what I expected, she needs to “tell Paul” he shouldn’t make promises he can’t keep !
Never will I shop here, there’s lots of other reputable jet shops around!

We would really appreciate the opportunity to look into this for you, as your bracelet adjustment may still be covered under our warranty. In some cases, Whitby Jet jewellery needs to be assessed and adjusted by our specialist workshop to ensure the British stones are not accidentally damaged during the repair process. Unfortunately, this can mean the item needs to be returned to our workshop rather than altered in-store.
We are sorry if this wasn't explained clearly during your visit, and we understand how this would have been frustrating, particularly as you had been given different expectations at the time of purchase. Sadly, our team was not aware the company would be going into Administration in January and that the Whitby Jet workshop would be closed when that event happened.

Whitby jewellery and lovely member of staff
Went to this shop specifically for a piece of Whitby Jet jewellery. They have a wide selection with many beautiful pieces. Mark was knowledgeable, very helpful and there was no pressure to choose quickly. A lovely shopping experience. I'd definitely recommend this shop and they sell jewellery with other stones as well. The amber is worth checking out.

I knew of 'W. Hamond' online, so was delighted to come across their shop. A spontaneous purchase which was a beautiful antique Jet and Fossil Ammonite Mourning Brooch, which I shall treasure. The two assistants were so helpful and patiently answered my enquiries, obviously sharing my enthusiasm!

Great service and quality jewellery
I went to the Whitby store in May and was assisted by Kala who was really helpful. I got one ring I was after but the other was out of stock. I ordered the other ring I wanted online after confirming my ring size in store. It was made for me and delivered 8 days later. Emails were clear and helpful. Very happy with my purchases.

Customer service was spot on. Ordered ring for daughters 18th on line, after previous ring I ordered from another company fell through at last minute. They agreed to prioritise it and made it in two days so she would have it for her birthday. My daughter loved the ring saying it was "perfect and what she was looking for". Thanks for helping make her day special.

Great Shop, Friendly Salesperson

Had to have a Jet/diamond ring repaired…
Had to have a Jet/diamond ring repaired which I purchased 10years ago. Via emails, Leah was extremely helpful in obtaining a repair price. I posted the ring for the repair and Leah acknowledged receipt imediately. The repair took just a few days, but she arranged for it to be kept safe as I would be away for a few days. As soon as I was home I requested the return, which she promptly did. Very pleased with the repair.
My experience with Leah and W Hamond over many years has been outstanding, and would highly recommend this business.
