Stopped responding to messages and calls, except to collect rent
I rented a room in a shared flat managed by 089 Apartments / Mietbase Solutions gmbh via HousingAnywhere. On move-in I was not given a key to my own room. I first raised it on 22 May and followed up in writing about weekly; more than two months later I still had no key and ended up buying and fitting a lock myself to secure my belongings.
There is also no lock on the cupboard and no latch on the door. I wonder what would happen if I was a woman in a shared apartment (WG) without any lock/protection.
My protection in this apartment (WG) as a tenant is to hope that the other people living here are not malicious people (what a great hope to have.)
As for Mietbase, they simply stopped responding over any channel of communication. Stopped picking up calls, stopped responding to whatsapp messages, nothing. Just went dark.
The worst part is, my contract is only 6 months. I have to stay somewhere for 1 more year in Munich. I would've easily stayed here cos the forest is just behind the apartment but their treatment of me is so pathetic that I would rather be homeless than rent from Mietbase or 089 Apartments again.
