Vinyl floor covering…
We recently had Vinyl floor covering laid in our bathroom and prior to this had concerns about it being laid in one piece without joins or gaps round the base of the bath, hand basin and WC. However, thanks to the skilful workmanship of Matt the fitter, we need not have been worried as the Vinyl was laid to perfection and better than we could have possibly hoped for. Great job

a bad experience and stressful
a bad experience and stressful. i ordered quick step flooring off the luton showroom. 23square meters. of 8mm laminate supplied and fitted paid for it over the phone. just a few days later i wanted to upgrade my order to 12mm laminate. and was happy to pay the extra cost but i was hit with a £185 restocking charge for charging to 12 mm which i disputed so i was left with no option but to cancel my whole order and the shop manger then said they would keep my order£750 deposit i had paid. so after numerous Emails. and weeks of stress. they finally returned my deposit minus £125 so i would not advise anyone to buy flooring here if you want a stress free and hassle free purchase

We strive to give our customers a happy positive experience at all times so I am very sorry to hear that you felt that you had a stressful experience whilst speaking to my showroom.
I must advise that you and your wife visited my showroom on two occasions to view your lovely floor choice before proceeding with your order, I also sent you the link to view the range on the manufacturer's website and showed you lots of installation images.
You were advised that once your order has been placed, your stock is ordered from the manufacturer immediately and delivered to our warehouse very swiftly so no changes can be made.
When you then requested to change your order, I tried my absolute best to accommodate you. I spoke to the manufacturer who did agree to swap the product on this occasion but with a restocking charge.
Unfortunately you were unhappy to pay this restocking charge and then also wanted to cancel your order which meant leaving us with your specially ordered flooring and us paying for it.
As stated in our terms of trade “all goods are specifically ordered for each customer and therefore form a bespoke order and as such if a customer wishes to cancel their order the deposit is non-refundable.” However on this occasion we agreed to step outside of our terms of trade and refund your deposit minus the restocking charge which will cover the costs of us returning your flooring, the manufacturer will not accept the return of the matching accessories on your order so we have been left with these and paid for them.
I am very sorry that you didn’t want to continue your order with us as we would have loved to fit your new floor.

The whole process from enquiry to choosing to fitting was excellent. The branch in Shefford is local to me and it was great to be able to support a local business. They have an extensive range and the expertise to provide a great service. The fitter was efficient and left everything tidy and looking fabulous.

Brilliant showroom
I've visited 1-to-1 several times over the past year or so - Matt has always been nothing but helpful and polite. The expertise he has on all his products shines through, and he is generous with both his time and lending samples, which made all the difference to our final decision. I felt at ease browsing the showroom at length, despite returning multiple times and bringing samples to compare against etc - a pleasure to visit somewhere and not feel under any pressure.

Long wait
I went to this retailer as they had the type of carpeting I was looking for, whilst the service and advice was first class I was not informed that my carpet was made in India and that I would have to wait such a long time for it to arrive in the uk. I ordered the carpet in mid February and was told I had to pay a 50% deposit up front of £3,000.00 which I did , the carpet didn’t arrive into the Uk until the 31st July and was finally fitted the first week of August.What I object to is the company holding my deposit for five months, then when it arrived in the county I had to complete the purchase before seeing the carpet or approving the final fit.I think if I had known the lead time would have taken so long I would have taken my custom else where.However , the fitters were first class and the carpet looks great so it’s a difficult one.I think a five month lead time when you have not been given that information up front and the company having my substantial deposit for all of that time a hard pill to swallow but maybe I’m naive.

Throughout our company we absolutely always strive to give the best possible service to our customers at all times.
At the time of placing your order, when stock was checked with the manufacturer it was found to be out of stock, however I know you wanted to proceed anyway and agreed to wait.
Unfortunately we could never have known that there would be further delays, however we did try to keep you informed throughout and you were given the option to choose another carpet.
It is industry standard to take full payment for your order before installation, this was explained at the time that your order was placed, but as a long established business and including a lifetime installation guarantee in each of our quotations, we aim to give our customer plenty of reassurance.
We do hope that you continue to enjoy your beautiful new carpet.

Carpet fitting
We recently bought and had fitted a living room carpet from 1to1 Flooring in Barnet. We were extremely happy with the service provided, from the team in the showroom through to the fitters. Carl (the fitter) and his assistant were very polite and respectful of our property, and we are really happy with the finished result (and have had several complimentary comments from visitors!). The pricing was competitive, and communication was excellent. We would definitely use this company again in the future.

Disappointed with the back-office…
Very disappointed with the poor coordination and back-office mismanagement at 1to1 Flooring. I had agreed on a specific felt underlay for my landing and stairs, but during fitting, a completely different underlay was used without any prior discussion. The fitters were innocent in this—they simply installed what they were given. When I raised the issue, the team first insisted this was the original plan. Now, today, they're giving a different reason, saying they changed it “for levelling the floor.” None of this was communicated to me in advance, and I was never given a choice. This lack of transparency and last-minute decision-making is unprofessional. I expected better for a paid service

I am very sorry that there was some confusion regarding your underlay.You had been quoted for Axfelt underlay on the stairs only with Charleston 11mm underlay to the landing and in to the bedroom.
Upon your call to report that you were unhappy with this, we immediately spoke to the fitter to have the Charleston 11mm underlay uplifted on the landing and the Axfelt fitted in its place as requested at no additional cost.
I can also see that you received a complimentary discount when initially proceeding with your quotation and were given our soonest available fitting date as you required fitting in a hurry plus our specialist fitter did a fabulous job for you.
As a family owned business we always strive to give our customers a fantastic service and am sorry to see that you felt a 1 star review was required.
I hope you are enjoying your beautifully fitted new carpets.

From start to finish they were amazing at giving on advise on how best to utilise our space , gave us loads of options on price and the installer on the day was so so good . I went into the store in person as a first-time buyer because I wasn’t confident in my flooring calculations. I brought accurate room measurements and clearly explained that I was unsure about how much I needed. I expected professional guidance instead, I was advised to buy 47 boxes. I only needed 36. Now I’m left with 11 unopened boxes and no way to return them.
When I got in touch, the response was cold and dismissive. No refund, no exchange, no support just blame. They pointed to my original email, twisting a simple quote request into a “confirmed quantity” so they could shift responsibility.
It’s clear this company puts sales first and customer care last. If you make a purchase based on their advice and it goes wrong, they’ll throw you under the bus. This is NOT an honest mistake it’s a pattern of behaviour as others have left similar reviews.
Go elsewhere. This ruthless company has zero accountability, and once they’ve taken your money, they won’t lift a finger to help.

I am very sorry to hear that you are unhappy with our service.
“Our Supply Only” service is well renowned for being cheaper than anything you can find on the internet. Our only stipulation is that we do not offer the measuring service as part of this and we do not offer a returns policy.
Looking into this I see you emailed in initially with the below
“I’m looking for Invictus dry back Highland Oak Canyon parquet. Herringbone
47 packs / 65.8 m2
Can you tell me how £? And how soon you could get them delivered”
We subsequently quoted.
You then visited one of our branches and we did assist you with how to work it out and what waste to allow but we can only go on the information provided to us at the time.
We then go the extra mile clearly stating the quantities be double checked prior to placing any order with us and that we are unable to take back any excess packs. I see this is clearly stated all over your quotation and was reiterated by our team in branch to which you have agreed. However I think we do need to state the order is not in your name, It has been ordered and paid for by your builder so I do feel you were receiving expert advice somewhere and should also seek redress there for the quantities or plan they provided which everyone was working off.
I see our branch offered to take back the excess flooring with a handling charge as a gesture of goodwill but you declined asking for the full amount. I think this was reasonable of them as we have restocking costs of our own. However I do not wish to see any of our customers this unhappy so if you contact the branch, I would like to offer as a further gesture of goodwill to take back the flooring without the handling charge.
I hope this will fully resolve any ill will or bad service you feel you have received from us.

Overestimate of Materials
The quality of the flooring and workmanship is excellent, but I’m very disappointed with the overall experience. Despite the company measuring the space and advising on quantities, I was left with 25% more flooring than needed. Their refusal to refund unused materials, citing their terms, felt unfair and contradictory. After extensive hassle, I only received a partial refund. This has left me frustrated, and I would hesitate to recommend their services.

We have spoken a few times recently and again it is lovely to hear that you are pleased with your beautiful new floor and my fitters workmanship.
As previously discussed I am sorry to hear that you felt that we had over quoted. When calculating product quantities an allowance is made for wastage which is an essential requirement for floor fitting.
Although we do state in our terms of trade that any leftover product is to be retained by the customer we did on this occasion agree to a complimentary payment.
We always try to give a competitive price from the beginning, quoting as cost effectively as possible for our customers.
I am very sorry if you felt that this had not happened.
