This company's booking system is rubbish, failed to take our booking and their customer service is worse. They then charged us to re-book the booking and haven't responded to my complaint email which they suggested I write

Great experience at Elvington, this was our first time with 6th gear (done other driving experience with other companies) but I can honestly say 6th gear are the best.
All the staff are so friendly and got loads of knowledge I drove the Lambo, ferrari 440 and the FTypeR.My favourite is defo the FTypeR.Cannot wait to go back .
This was a birthday gift from my hubby ,I waited for months to go and was not disappointed at all.

I attended Anglesey Circuit. It was a birthday present and was timed at a point in my life where I find myself priced out of car ownership and had to sell my beloved motor a week before. I was so down about it, I guess my family must have been worrying whether I'd ever pull myself together. 6thgearexperience picked me up off the floor. Everyone was very friendly and it seemed pretty well organised. I had an early start and there was hardly any hanging around. Besides, I was happy to wait and experience the thrill of anticipation :) I was as keen to drive the circuit as the cars and I'd throughly recommend this venue. The track is fantastic, staff at the cafe are lovely, and the experience as a whole exceeded my expectations. I thought it would be all health and safely and rigid instruction, but no, I was really allowed to boot it (responsibly). The instructors I had were absolutely fantastic. I wish I could remember names, so forgive me, the whole day was a sort of out of body experience, but the guys who guided me in the lambo and the Arial were really faultless. Friendly to meet, really concise and on point guidance, and reassuring company. I've never driven on a track before, nor anything with this level of performance outside Gran Turismo on PlayStation. but the input I was given by the instructors made me feel I was really living my dream. I'd chosen the Arial as a sort of wild card alternative to the usual supercar fleet, but how glad I am that I did! That was the most visceral thrill I have ever had and I am since dreaming of driving it again.
I know how expensive car ownership is, and I have a good idea the running costs of the cars in the 6thgearexperience fleet. Add to that all the personel on hand to make it happen, and an expensive day for me actually turns out to be good value for what's on offer.
I've read some of the reviews here, and I think there are some that don't appreciate the true cost of running some of these cars, not to mention the risk of handing them over to strangers, and then the instructors balancing the fine line between supporting you and self-preservation! It's an impressive operation and yes it was over all too quickly, but I was so thrilled by my experience I've written my longest review by a long way. Thank you to all at 6thgearexperience :)

My mother brought a drive a Lamborghini for my husband for his Birthday and we finally went last week (delayed due to covid.)

We decided to upgrade to the Stafford track, but we wish we didn't.

When we turned up we were surprised that it was just a track and a couple of buildings (office, loo and cafe).

They recommend turning up 45 mins early, DO NOT DO THIS! We turned up 5 mins before our scheduled time and was fine. If we'd turned up 45 mins early then we would have been very bored hanging around.

We registered at the office, and within a few mins my husband's turn was up.

In the office they try to upsell you extra rides, insurance and a demo lap. We opted for the insurance but I don't even think we needed that considering how quick his turn was up. I deffo wouldn't recommend choosing the demo lap either. It would last 2 mins and be a waste of £10.

Sadly this is where we were left disappointed, the track was only 0.5 miles long and he only got to do 3 laps. You also share the track with other drivers so be aware that you maybe stuck behind a slow driver.

We drove (in our car) for over an hour to reach the track and then he was all done in 5 mins. I expected that you got to spend more time in the car than you do.

They don't even give you a fastest lap time or anything like that. It would be interesting if they had a leaderboard of fastest times, that may even entice people to have an extra go or three, but no. It was like going in for your covid booster. In and out without the staff caring. Also, it would have been nice to have a photo outside of the car, especially as I imagine most people receive these experiences as gifts. I understand it's probably not wise to have people on the track taking photos, but there really should be an opportunity to take a photo with the car.

He got the bonus high speed lap, which wasn't in the Lamborghini as expected, it was in a focus. It was fast and he enjoyed it, but it would have been better in the Lambo. Also, I tried to go into the fast lap with him (there are 4 seats), but as I didn't have a ticket they said no. It's a shame, I understand it's health and safety, but I wouldn't have minded signing a waiver form and hop into the back, especially as it wasn't me driving.

It was roughly £65ish for the voucher, and I think that's expensive, £40 would be more appropriate.

My husband enjoyed it but it wasn't worth the hassle. He wouldn't recommend using this company. You were hustled in and out of the car like sheep, it was just a conveyor belt of people.

I had my first Super car experience with 6th Gear at Perranporth Cornwall on Sunday 1st May 2022 and I went there on my own without judgement as a female, everyone from the lady how registered me in was 110 % Something I would highly recommend for a truly unforgettable experience of a life time 🙏💜 I drove a awesome Lamborghini LP360🚘🧡

The young man reading out the names was also awesome 👌 he was friendly with everyone and had a great sense of humour 👍
And the young girl helping out with the safety lap was a real pleasure to catch to in-between driving 🚗😁

These guys and girls are there again in August of this year, so for a awesome day out with awesome people and awesome supercars go for it 😀🚘💯

Second time with 6TH gear, again really enjoyed the cars great atmosphere, and the instructors are brilliant, two gave me a little more rope on the third laps as after all it is an experience on a track, you should be able to get the pace up a fair bit. The third instructor on the 997 turbo wasn't as easy, taking over the brake pedal far too early way before their "braking zone" is quite ironic. Unfortunately technology is another culprit to let this one down, three cars three recordings and for some reason it has only captured the audio not the video. Whether its a technical barrier between my laptop and the stick I'm not sure. However SD cards would probably be more of suitable option than a USB stick, as if you wanted a USB you can get SD to USB convertors.

Second time using The 6th Gear, and both times have been fantastic experiences.
Admin side of the business- Had a couple of changes to make to my booking just after lockdown and they couldn't be more helpful. They extended my voucher time limit without hesitation.
Booking was really easy, with a great choice of cars to choose from.
Track side- All the staff on the day were very helpful and really enthusiastic. The instructors who take you out on the track are great and constantly talk you around the track so you can't go wrong.
At the end I bought some photos and
to add to my USB containing all of my drives. All worked fine when I got home.

Our 11 year old son received a junior driving experience for Christmas that was booked for the Easter holidays at Elvington airfield. We turned up on the day to find out there had been a mix up in the booking and the junior events weren't until the following day.

Having read some of the reviews on this site/firm before attending I wasn't sure how the whole thing was going to play out and have to admit to fearing the worse. However I can't praise them highly enough.

The girl at the registration desk explained the error and said they took full responsibility for the mistake. She asked if we would like to come back the following day to allow him to drive the cars but I explained that wasn't possible. She said we could have him driven round by the instructor in the 2 cars we had booked and added a further car for no charge.

As we were walking away another employee from the firm came over and said he had overheard the conversation, apologised and said to come and see him once we had done and he would give us the images of the experience for free.

The lad who was organising the separate drives really looked after my son and made sure he got to the right cars at the right time and engaged with him really well.

Once done we got the photos for free and another apology.

I can't comment on the actual driving experience of the cars themselves, however the staff went above and beyond for us and delivered a memorable experience for my lad. He had a great time and what could have been a really negative experience was nothing but positive.

Booked a junior triple supercar thrill for our 14 year old grandson for his birthday at Seighford in Stafford He had a great day and on his 3rd drive he actually changed the gears when he felt more confident said he enjoyed the Porche 977 turbo the best also had the hotlap passenger ride which he thoroughtly enjoyed all in all it was a great day all the staff were most pleasant and we did not have to wait any more than 5 mins past our actual drive time the reviews about the extras any extras are up to yourself and no pressure to purchase we paid the damage waiver thought it sensible to do so and we paid for the photos received them and they are excellent would recomend this as a day out to anyone with a youngster who wants to experience driving a top class car

Started the day at Elvington relatively well considering the weather we had on Feb 19th. However this didn't last very long at all, the only car I really wanted to drive that I'd booked was the Ariel Atom and that wasn't being run due to the weather (not your fault), so, I then went out in a 458 Ferrari where the instructor was very decent and basically gave me free reign of the car, he told me I could left foot brake and he didn't touch his pedals or the wheel at any point, even congratulating me on my ability. Next came the 911 Turbo, the instructor might as well have been driving the car, so much so that at one point I had thought about asking him if he'd paid for this experience, the guy was a patronising ass, considering that I hold a UK competition license and have been driving and racing since I was 5 years old this genuinely pissed me off, the instructor was on the brakes whilst I was braking so at no point did I have control of the car, he even reached across and held the wheel whilst cornering. Again did I pay for a driving experience or was it a lesson on how to patronise someone? This experience left me with a pretty sour taste and I left without driving the third car. Overall not a great experience at all and would not recommend to others.

Great experience from start to finish with email communication , checking in, Audi R8, Aston Martin & Lamborghini drives. All instructors , checking in, photo staff superb. Hot lap was great with how the professionals can put their foot down & show them how it’s done!! Friendly & organised. Son’s 21st birthday gift which was delayed due to Covid.

I took my 8 year old son for a 3 car experience polus i paid £35 for the usb stick so he could have a recording of all 3 drives. He did love the drives especially the lambo however when we returned home we plugged the USB stick in to watch it again with the family and only one of the drives had fully recorded and not the lambo! gutted was not the word as he wanted to show his friends. On contacting the company the following Monday they advised they had no backups and referred us back to their terms and conditions whereby they only offer a refund of £5 per missed recording so therefore i paid £25 for 1 recording, they will not budge. how is this fair when they put the stick into the system and they provide the stick - clearly their equipment is faulty yet it costs me????

I was gifted a two car experience in 2020, but due to COVID i’m only using it today. No the company’s fault. It is what it is! They allowed me to extend twice, and that i’m great-full for. Credit where due for that.

After i received the gift i read the reviews and to be honest i was dreading the day. Even driving up to the track i wasn’t sure what to expect today.

I was booked in by not the friendliest of ladies i must admit, and i though to my self, here we go!

From there on though, the day was absolutely amazing!!

Staff were mega friendly from the lady giving out the helmets, the guys calling out names and the two instructors i had were awesome.

Really cool guys who encouraged you to drive the car properly. They really let you open the cars and encourage me to overtake when it was safe to do so.

Reading some of the reviews I thought they’d make you drive slow and safe but far from it. It was safe at all times but fast…… really fast!!

I don’t usually write reviews, good or bad, but to be honest these guys deserve quite a lot of credit today.

Don’t let the other reviews put you off. People moan over the tiniest thing. I had a great day!!

Gave to my wife as a present, booked in august and the soonest was end of feb. Due to this, my wife had to work and no option to change it. Paid £30 ish for insurance that was not needed, so lost out on both the trackday and the insurance. Going to look into an fca complaint about the insurance

As long as you don't have issues, the drives are good.
I got a drive in the Atom and the F430 as a gift. I paid £30 for the video footage to share with the person who got me the gift. Unfortunately the video from the Atom was awful due to a system fault. I got in touch with the CS team and tried to insist I should get half the £30 back. They just stated the T&C's and that I could call to get £5 refunded.
I also paid £25 for photos which to be fair are good.
Unfortunately it just leaves a taste that the company are good at keeping hold of your money. But, they stick to the T&C's, just seems they are swayed in favour of their own bank account :-)

After reading the reviews on here I was a little worried. I know my cars and have done many track days. I was concerned that I wouldn't be allowed to give the F430 some beans around Castle Combe. The young lad that was with me today was quality and good fun. I even had a hot lap in the RS and the old chap was channeling his inner Senna as he was superb. Well organised even though it was busy, I got to go in the car at the said time. Will definitely book again. Really enjoyed myself.

Absolute robbery, I got an driving experience for my birthday says expires end of January, so on the 10th January I tried booking my drive (3 weeks left until expires) and there's no date's available. I rang and spoke to jack who was very rude and said I have to pay an extra£30 to extend when it hasn't expired I said no way, it's my birthday present and cost£70 they won't refund me or return my emails, never again would I give them a penny and they need reporting to tradin standards that I will definitely be doing

Hi there, I had booked 3 super cars R8 v10, F430 and and GTR for 2laps each and a HOT 🔥 Lap in Focus RS. What can I say. First thing very happy with R8 v10 GTR34.😅😀☝️
But F430 was very disappointed in handling and instructor. Instructor was talking, way too much about irrelevant things. Not much help you to get most out the car on track for amateur. And handling was awful specifically when breaking before bends. Back end was just floating like a 🛥 . Ang gear shifting was very slow.
Hot 🔥 lap in Focus RS with instructor was just amazing ☝️👍👍👍 we overtook everyone on that lap . At one point car was on 2 wheels🤗🤮

Booked an experience for my father for his 70th Birthday. The day was all booked up when unfortunately my father suffered a heart attack and had to surrender his license for 6 months. I was told I couldn't extend my voucher validity unless I payed £30 admin fee. I appealed to them that was a bit steep and to show compassion on the situation but I was just told that I knew the terms and conditions when I purchased. I wont pay £30 admin out of principle now. It doesn't cost that much to change some dates on a system.
