Purchased songs a while ago and was enjoying them for several years. Got a new sd card for a mobile device and was copying music from my pc and noticed a bunch of music was missing from my song library. I logged into 7digital and was able to re-download SOME of them but many others wanted me to RE-PURCHASE songs that I ALREADY PAID FOR. Also worth noting that there must be some sort of DRM that kicked in or something similar but it was definitely NOT mentioned during the purchase. Very disgusted with 7digital and would not recommend using them. Terrible companies like this are the reason many people turn to piracy, Why pay some 3rd party mp3 company that removes music and tries to extort more money out of you. It's clearly not going to the artist. What a scam.

I have had repeated issues with downloaded titles purchased from 7digital. This morning I forgot about those issues, and purchased 2 new titles. I had issues downloading them both- the downloads would just hang. I was finally able to download them, and found that one of the titles had numerous problems with the tracks in it- the same file names reused multiple times(and thus named (1), etc.) and that not all tracks downloaded in the zip file. I searched my Gmail for 7digital's Help email address, only to find older emails where I dealt with the *exact* same problems with them, they would not fix or refund, and I ended up getting a PayPal refund. I am not going through that with them again. I deleted the downloads, removed the bookmark and history for 7digital in my browser, and this time will never, *ever* order from them again.

I purchased, paid and downloaded lots over months.
When I accidentaly lost a song, I turned to "your music" on their home page to download my song I'd purchased months ago, they're NOT able to remember that one song, promoting me to buy again under "your music"!!! I thought this was a record of all my music purchased for keeps.

I bought a number of tracks, paid for them via PayPal. Got my receipt from 7digital and a transaction email from PayPal. Then I tried to download the files. As soon as I hit the first download button the whole page locked and I was unable to move or hear anything. There was no help other than the usual automated advice. The advice concluded that if it didn’t work I should use the Contact Form - there was no form. I posted requests for help on the Comments form - no response. I went to their Facebook page and sent another request for help - no response.
Fortunately I had used PayPal who gave me an instant refund.
I have to say that ANY company that does not offer any way of effectively contacting Support/Cust.Service etc. should be avoided. If anyone wants to buy music online I would most strongly advise them NOT to use 7digital under any circumstances

Best quality digital music files, fast downloads and easy payment via PayPal. Had no issues, the website loads a little slow and now you have to find new music by searching the artist, but overall a very good experience.
Will also use Qobuz since sometimes 7digital doesn’t have the song or album in highest quality, but 7digital is cheaper and has most songs and albums I’m looking for.

After some payment issues (collecting money from back account and failing to complete the payment)
It worked, I was able to access the file.

Sent me a file that that had tested the download and confirmed an error. They said they requested a corrected version from the record company. Then said they'd let me "exchange for a download of similar retail value." When I asked them how to go about that, they stopped responding. Best find files elsewhere.

Their only payment method - Paypal - has not been functioning for multiple days.

The product is reasonable though not all meet the quality stated this could be the source material from the record company. The biggest issue is their customer service & time taken to issue refunds. They admitted a fault with a product when I complained. It took several days for them to respond but they thanked me & said I would get a refund. After several weeks still no refund & no response to escalations through PayPal. DO NOT USE FOR THIS REASON ALONE. I had an issue with Amazon around the same time & the refund arrived the next day. Noone should hold onto your money for several weeks after admitting they did not supply the product.

After many good and successful purchases on the Canadian store, I've run into a problem: Failed to find files to download after authorizing purchase. I've spent two weeks trying to get customer service to react, and after them saying they can't see the missing files in the order (despite me sending them their digital receipt email which shows these purchases), they have stopped responding to my repeated attempts to resolve the issue. It's disconcerting that the "Connect with us" prompt at the base of the webpage is inactive, and I only managed to get any response by finding an email address for customer support within an FAQ. That, and the fact that the landing page hasn't changed in months. If they're in trouble, fine, but don't expect to get out of any troubles if you treat your customers poorly. I've contacted my credit card to pursue a charge back.

I have bought from 7D for 5 or 6 years. Onkyo,Qobuz and HD Tracks also.
I have had problems but always they were resolved. Good customer service.
I'm reading a lot of nonsense regarding upsampling and using software to 'test' FLAC legitimacy . 7D , as with all the sellers only sell what the record companies give them.
I suggest you just listen to the music, most of their FLAC files are superb. Some do sound poor but thats the poor recording and production.
7D best value. Catalogue did weaken for couple years but has improved.
I have around 1000 downloaded albums, many from 7D. I believe them to be an honourable and competitive player in the download market.
The bad reviews seem to come from customers who have bought very little yet review as if they have researched the download quality over a significant sample size. It's a joke.
For those with little knowledge and ridiculous claims I suggest you stop bad mouthing and whinging, buy your music wherever you choose and enjoy your music. Your ears should tell you pretty quickly the quality of the download.

I´d been a customer of 7D for several years but have now given up following increasingly poor downloads and even worse customer service.

Tracks over 4 minutes 16 seconds now stop at that precise time whatever their length. For tracks well over 6 - 8 minutes this is frustrating to say the least.

I tested old tracks on my system, new tracks (from other providers) and imported CD´s as well as checking the stop time to ensure it was set correctly. Nothing wrong.

7D stated they checked at there end but there was no problem. It´s clearly occurring in the download so wouldn´t be picked up by a check of the track.

Customer service refused to engage in any way after one email and ignored my efforts to continue the dialogue. Efforts that ran to about 3-4 emails from me so I wouldn´t regard this as obsessive.

After many years a customer I no longer buy music from 7D (of any length) and will not in the future.

Don´t buy any yourself either. Any problems and they'll just ignore you.

I have been using 7 digital for a few years. I have never had any issues with 7digital. A number of albums I have searched for have not been available but I always search 7Digital first. My music quality has always been good with fast download speeds.

1 er achat 1 er échec , PayPal bien débiter compte bancaire débiter mais pas de cd a disposition ca commence mal. je contact le service client qui renvoie la balle a PayPal .et ne veux rien savoir .
fuyez le site c est une honte et après ont va demander pourquoi les gens pirate a la place d acheter légalement ..

Positives:

1) A different site to download music that isn't Apple, Google etc. So, you feel a little less like you're being screwed over by those rather dodgy corporations.

2) Seemingly more money goes to artists. Apple, for example, receives around 30% of all payments. Google, I believe, is similar to Apple.

3) It's largely cheaper than the alternatives mentioned above.

Negatives:

1) Paypal. God, why oh why do they use Paypal? They're awful, and even worse, there appears to be no alternative payment method. If your card is ever declined with Paypal, all future payments will be declined, seemingly permanently, and the only way to contact Paypal is to create an account. This means the option to avoid creating an account when making a purchase essentially becomes null and void here unless you have multiple payment methods available. Paypal are idiotic and possibly the worst payment processor available.

2) Music or artists routinely disappear from the site. Could be the store location, but it's concerning especially when wanting to re-download something.

3) A limited number of albums available for some artists, showing they often lack variety.

4) Lack of more bespoke music. For example, soundtracks seem lacking on the site.

5) The necessity of needing to be in the same country as the store location visited. Meaning VPNs etc. cannot be used.

6) No opt-out for unnecessary cookies, indicating the potential for exploitation by the site.

Edit: Technically, it's now possible to contact Paypal without an account.

Regardless, the lack of options on the site regarding payment methods is a real problem here, and they've stated no other options will be available in the future. Their customer service people on Zendesk have since ignored my last three emails and seemingly haven't bothered to listen to my recommendation that Paypal be dropped as their payment processor. Shame.

I read about the upscaling fraud here first time and tested my new orders (from Sept 6. 2023) with SPEK. And yes, it is partly true that you do not get 16bit CD quality files (no cut off under 22kHz). At this time i tested 10 flac releases from my order. 3 of those flac downloads were not CD quality. 1 reached 21kHz, 1x 20kHz, 1x about 18,5 kHz. The other 7 flac downloads (releases partly with several tracks) had minimum 22 kHz (Spek doesn't show higher frequenzes then 22 kHz). 7digital need to check the quality of the files bevore they offer those on their webside. Even if files come from artists and / or labels 7digital is responsible for the offered quality Although a higher percentage of files are as advertised it leaves a bad reputation and a loss of trust in the company. As it is very important for me to get high quality files i need to rethink if i will buy again from this company.
None CD Quality FLAC files are: 1. Kelly Lee Owens - On 2. Khubos - Believe 3. Smooth Ensemble - My Love.

flac and 320 kbps aac files are just upsampled lower quality mp3's. Shame on you, 7digital. Will not buy anyhing else from you.
