I ordered two dresses for approximately 200 USD and specifically checked the return and complaints policy before purchasing – because that mattered to me. What happened next was beyond anything I could have anticipated.
One dress arrived with a clear manufacturing defect: the hem seam is incorrectly stitched, causing the fabric to pucker and pull throughout – the dress is unwearable as delivered. The other dress looks nothing like the product photos: heavy, stiff fabric instead of the light, flowing material advertised.
What followed was one of the most exhausting consumer experiences I have ever had. Over 10 emails, I was systematically stalled: the stitching defect was suddenly redefined as a "minor finishing irregularity," and their own return policy – which explicitly promises a full refund including shipping costs for defective items – was simply not honored. Instead, I received:
Repeated "escalations to management" with minimal offer increases (from 10% to 18% to 20% to 30%)
Grossly exaggerated warnings about return shipping costs ($60–200 USD – actual DHL cost from Germany: approx. 30€)
Explicit suggestions that my return package could be seized by customs, damaged, or lost in transit
Refusal to provide a complete return address without yet further hurdles
This does not feel like customer service. It feels like a system specifically designed to wear customers down until, out of sheer exhaustion, they accept a minimal payout.
My advice to other shoppers: Look very critically at the product photos, and assume that in the event of a complaint, what is written in the return policy will not actually apply. Buy elsewhere.
Ordered a special mother-of-the-bride dress to wear at my daughter’s wedding and the picture on their web site was lovely. The dress I received was poorly packaged and was made of totally different fabric than shown. The cheap tulle had sequins glued on that only slightly resembled the lace in the pictured gown. The neckline, length of the sleeves and edges of the sleeves and hem also differed from the gown pictured. The only thing they got right was the color and the workmanship appeared to be of decent quality. Because of this blatant bait & switch I contacted them to return the dress the day after I received it. Their website states items can be returned within 14 days if not worn so the next hurdle is to see if they will honor their return policy
J'ai commandé 2 robes que je trouvais sublimes sur le site.
Pour commancer, les délais de livraison n'ont pas été respectés...
Mais le plus grave c'est que les robes ne correspondent pas du tout aux images du site, mal coupées, différentes des modèles proposés sur le site.
Elles sont affreuses, l'une d'elle 10 fois trop grande (alors que la même taille que l'autre). C'est de la publicité mensongère, avec des robles chères qui ne sont pas mieux que des robes Tému.
Concernant le "retour facile sous 14 jours", même problème que la qualité et les frais d'envois, c'est encore faux !
Voici un extrait du mail:
"Les frais de retour international sont à votre charge et peuvent être élevés
Le délai de traitement peut prendre plusieurs semaines
Les frais de port initiaux et d’éventuels frais de douane ne sont pas remboursables"
Alors que sur le site, il est bien indiqué: "Si, en raison de nos raisons, les marchandises reçues sont endommagées ou incorrectes, le consommateur n'est pas tenu de supporter les frais d'expédition pour cette raison."
