As someone who smoked regularly for 9 years I took cigarettes to mean a lot more than they actually do. I thought of them as my friend who is always there for me and something that tasted great in my mouth and made my meals better. Never did I think of quitting. I overheard a conversation about Allen Carr’s easy way to quit smoking and thought I’d give it a read for anytime in the distant future when I’d be pregnant and ready to quit (yes such was my mindset).
