Lovely product.

Amathus has become the Number 1 place for buying gifts for my granddaughter and her fiancé. I live in the United States, and they live in England. Since I first used Amathus 5 years ago, and I have trusted them even sense for absolutely perfect gifts for birthdays, holidays, and just because. I know I am sending something they will love, and I know the wine will be just as advertised— delicious. Customer service is the highest caliber. They even chill the champagne for special occasions. I highly recommend Amathus for all gift-buying and all other wine and liquor needs.

Really helpful at both South Ken and Oxford Stores. South Ken gave me brilliant advice. Asked for delivery at Oxford Store and they exceeded expectations by receiving my order within two days. On collection, he gave me great advise on my cocktail idea and also showed me around the store . A great find , which I will use again for sure

Not recommended : In good faith and enthusiasm, ordered online, a couple of boxes of Lanson Vibrant Rosé Creation Gift Box and Bollinger Special Cuvée Brut Gift Box (007 Edition) but no despatch information or timely response to previous e-mail enquiries materialised.

In absence the items eventually arrived via our concierge but the contents box had been accessed and left open, with witness, their courier had removed the contents to photograph, with unusual claim for proof of delivery? Perceived grubby hands had left marks on the intricate designed gift boxes that had also negated a wipe with noticeable dust. This should have been done prior to despatch from their warehouse, not in view of third parties in breach of confidential content. One Lanson box appeared tampered with, a soiled protruding lid not as neatly aligned as the other box.

Was looking forward to this purchase and giving Amathus our custom, instead of our usual supplier, as first impressions reflected promise but their now perceived pretentious shop front facade, is not all it seems. With further inconvenience to arrange return by phone, the rejected order was collected by their courier for an uninformed refund.

On this occasion Amathus are perceived “box shifters” with contempt for their suppliers and clients; poor packaging allowed gift boxes to slide about on their sides and undermine the aesthetics. It is unfortunate that champagne houses go to such creative lengths to market their gift products only to have the supplier undermine them and thwart clients opportunity and enjoyment of purchase. To add, whilst most staff are welcoming and enthusiastic at the local Hampstead branch, a smile would not go amiss with some.

Amathus final clueless response, “We apologise again for any inconvenience this may have caused”, is supposed to compensate for perceived breach of contract, expectations, wasted time and negated family Easter gifts. A supplier that claims sincere apologies for the above concerns but gaslights with request of contact details they already hold before immediate action could be taken.

“Get real”, be more respectful of those that take the time, trouble and interest to order from you and note that gift boxes are an integral part of the product, at additional cost, and should be handled with care.

“Never say never again”? Under review!

Purchased the McAllan 15 year old double cask whisky as the website showed the older blue box and classic bottle design (which was more expensive than other suppliers but wanted THAT bottle for my collection). What arrived though is the new red box and new design bottle so not what is advertised on their website despite the new design being out for nearly a year! Amathus Drinks PLC need to do a LOT better as my trust in their website is absolutely zero!
