I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with American Songwriters Magazine. I’ve purchased several items over the last 2 years or more. Most recent the Jan issue with Ringo Star on the cover. Anything Beatles will get me to purchase. Last year I be leaving there was something with John Lennon. Anyway, this recent purchase came in damaged and I was truly upset. It was obvious it was damaged in shipping, whether it be in the separating department or loading the mail truck… Anyway I’m not not one to return items or reach out to companies but this time I did. I sent an email to American Songwriters attaching photos of my damaged merchandise. I received an immediate response and with such a caring response. That they would send me another copy and without charge. I was so ecstatic! It didn’t take long, I received a new clean magazine with Ringo yesterday. I even gave them a shoutout on Facebook! 😉

Wonderful, responsive customer service. I had missed the cutoff to cancel, and got a note that I had been auto-renewed. (I've loved American Songwriter, but due to career shifts, the content is no longer relevant.). I sent a note to customer service and got an immediate, helpful response. Thank you, customer service team!

The customer service is awesome. I emailed a request for a refund using a coupon code that I had missed and was replied to with a retroactive refund in less than a day. I also received a personal reply from one of their agents. Thank you for being real people with grace!

I have only ever submitted a song to a contest and wasn't sure what to experience. ASM sends out a lot of information and lets you know about the different contests that they sponsor, which can get sort of overwhelming, but they did get in touch with me when my song wasn't submitted properly, so I am still in the running and I hope that they will let us all know how we did.

I'd submitted a new song to the American Songwriter's Magazine (ASM) song contest, one which I had just put up on my Reverbnation page. Katrina from ASM contacted me to say that they'd tried to access my song using the link I'd given them but couldn't, and wondered if there was another link I could send them. I did as she asked, thinking that all would be well, but it wasn't.

An hour or so later, I received another email from ASM from a guy named Jeff who said there was a problem with the 2nd link I'd sent and offered a suggestion of how to best send a working link. I followed his advice and (thankfully) was able to send them a working link.

I really appreciated that they followed up and didn't just let my song go by the wayside!

I've entered many songwriting contests over the years, and some have, of course, been shady cash grabs in which winners were never even announced. (Aspiring songwriters are monetized by all kinds of bad characters through contests, "promo" hustles," and other ruses.)

But American Songwriter is a reputable magazine and company, with a legitimate contest that is professionally run with clear instructions and easy uploading and announced prizes and winners. I was delighted this year that one of my songs made it to the semi-finals of the Road Ready contest. It is validation that as I continue to hone my craft and production and push my tracks toward sync licensing, I'm making progress.

RECENTLY: When a link for one of my tracks was incorrect, an American Songwriter staffer notified me by email, and after I uploaded a correct link, he responded in a quick, professional manner to confirm the new link worked.

Flawless customer service. I submitted a request to cancel my subscription (money concerns) and my money was swiftly and cheerfully refunded. Communication was courteous and kind. 10/10

Excellent customer service. Magazine was delivered to Australia, always in perfect condition. Customer service were super responsive and friendly in addressing account queries we had along the way, really great to deal with. Very reliable.

I spoke with Jeff over email, and he was polite and informative. He gave me all the info I needed. Good folks over there.

I accidentally submitted the same song twice. Jeff promptly addressed the issue with much grace. He has been a pleasure to correspond with.

The email that I sent was answered pretty quickly and the matter was rectified regarding my request.

I submitted a song for the competition and I shortly after changed, and re-record the song a bit as well as change the name. My IG is xaviorislive to hear.
So I had to swap out the updated version. AS swapped out the song very smoothly and quick.

I screwed up and accidentally made multiple submissions for the same song in the song contest. Jeff got right back to me when I emailed customer support and straightened it out.

The staff is very attentive and responsive . Given an opportunity to correct faulty submission ensures that my work will be seen

This isn't the first time I entered the American Songwriters contest. I started to believe that this was a scam, and nobody was reviewing the music sent in. I stopped entering American Songwriters. This is the first time I have had any contact with anyone affiliated with the music contest. The format to enter changed, but I was contacted when my song link wasn't working. I'm grateful for the response.

American Songwriter is the real deal! I've run into alot of fake posers, who just want to take your money. That's not the case with American Songwriter. The prizes for their contests are real and their Service is excellent. I had an issue with one of my submissions and they bent over backwards to assist me. First class all the way!!

Good communication generally and they got in touch when there was a problem with one of my songs that didn’t stream, I sent a refreshed link and this did the trick. Overall good experience so far-thanks!

This year has been my first experience entering the contests. The initial entry instructions were clear and I entered a few songs. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I received an email indicating some issues regarding my uploaded songs. Turns out it was an error on my end. I corrected the errors, resent, and someone on their end sent me multiple emails confirming the new links were working. I was very appreciative of their efforts and it gave me further confidence that AS is trying their best to coordinate what must be a major job assembling all the entries. Well done!
