Deceptive "quote calculator" used as a hidden pipeline to blast your data to third parties
Be extremely careful using this website. I used Autofunder under the impression that I was using a basic, non-binding online calculator to compare monthly vehicle costs against a cash purchase. I did not submit or authorize a live finance application.
Despite this, the platform immediately treated my inquiry as a live application, claimed I was "accepted for finance," and instantly distributed my personal data down a third-party broker pipeline. Within minutes, my data was passed to TFLI Limited, automated out to Vizion Finance Limited (Vizion Autos), and then pushed even further down the chain to Zopa Bank. This resulted in an immediate barrage of unsolicited marketing texts and WhatsApp messages from companies I have never heard of.
Using misleading user interfaces to bundle a simple cost inquiry with mass third-party data sharing completely violates the spirit of UK GDPR transparency and informed consent.
I had to force Autofunder into a formal data protection complaint (Ref: 01274716) and manually exercise my statutory Right to Erasure across multiple companies just to stop the spam and break the data chain. If you value your data privacy, avoid this site entirely and go directly to reputable, transparent lenders instead.
