When I stumbled out of a birthday party to find my bike had vanished, I nearly succumbed to despair. That's when my wife reminded me that she had signed me up to BackPedal. It was past midnight and I didn't have much hope of anything happening that night, but we thought we would give it a shot.
Richard answered immediately (by contrast, it proved impossible to get hold of anyone on the police line...), and walked us through the next steps, reassuring me that there was a good chance they would be able to recover my bike.
Within 12 hours, I was in a WhatsApp group with Richard and Tom, who were liasing with their man in the field Edgar, keeping me in the loop at every stage. They quickly located the bike's location through the tracker, and Edgar was able to convince the thieves to return the bike despite them initially denying having it. By 5pm, Edgar had delivered my bike to my home, in exactly the same condition as it was before.
I am simply blown away by the professionalism and efficiency of the BackPedal team. I still don't fully understand how these modern day heroes accomplish their feats, but all I know is that I am once again reunited with my trusty steed.
I cannot recommend this service highly enough - if you care about your bike, it's a no brainer!

I cannot recommend BackPedal highly enough. My Canyon e-bike was stolen, and despite contacting the Police who didn't really give me the time of day. After contacting BackPedal, everything changed.

From my first instance of letting them know the situation, they were professional, knowledgeable, reassuring and super responsive. They kept me informed throughout the process. Most importantly, they successfully recovered my bike within 10 hours of me contacting them.

What impressed me most wasn't just the speed of the recovery, but the expertise and dedication they showed. They know exactly what they're doing, their commitment to helping others is outstanding. In what was an incredibly stressful situation I was unsure if it would be ever be successfully retrieved, but it was like a military operation and they won.

Thanks to everyone at BackPedal for your exceptional service, shout out to Aidan for his midnight sting operation! You turned one of the worst days into an incredible outcome. I will recommend you to every cyclist I know.

I can't recommend Backpedal enough. Having a bike stolen is an incredibly stressful experience, but the team here made me feel completely supported. As soon as it happened, I provided them with all the details, and their team went straight to work.

A common thief had ran off with my bike and since it’s an expensive model I thought I’d lost her for good. BackPedal kept me in the loop and got my bike back a mere two days after the initial theft! They’re really doing great stuff and this has done wonders for my peace of mind in case smth like this ever happens again. If only i could rate it 6 stars!

A superb team from start to finish. Everyone in the office was helpful, kind, and extremely supportive. Having people on your side who know what they’re doing can completely change an otherwise frustrating and futile situation into a positive one. I called in the morning and had my bike back by the afternoon. Edgar is sharp, efficient, and exactly the person you want when it comes to recoveries.

Backpedal were pivotal in the recovery of our stolen Cargo bike. The Police were utterly useless but the Backpedal team were swift and efficient in getting our bike back.
The service Backpedal provides really does give you peace of mind and offers an unparalleled layer of security to E-Bike users in urban environments.

Their systems seem shambolic, which discouraged me from subscribing. I went though the quote process, entering all the required information including bike details. That generated an email confirming the quote. But the only option to proceed in the email was with booking the tracker fitting. There were no other options to proceed with. So I booked it. The next day, I received a message that included the following:

"Our team have accidentally released part of the website that wasn't ready yet - this allowed you to book a fitting online.

This shouldn't have shown, sorry. As such, I will need to cancel the fitting appointment you made.

The next step is actually to sign up here..."

The provided link immediately after that sentence invited me to start all over again with entering my details from scratch.

The message also seemed to miss the point that the email they previously sent me included a link to book the tracker fitting. It wasn't just a part of the website that I happend to find, but an email they sent confirming my quote and inviting me to book the tracker fitting.

The subsequent message also said:

"After signup, you will get an email for your bike details - and then a second to book the fitting using the correct form."

But I had already provided all my bike details etc.

All in all, quite chaotic and confusing. It certainly does not inspire confidence.

The response was so fast. I emailed the location link and within minutes back pedal had replied and were straight out to find the bike. They updated me immediately. It was found AND returned within a couple of hours! I was so relieved and grateful. They didnt waste time logging details etc, just got immediately out looking for it. Wanted to know just time and place and they were onto it. The whole process was friendly and they sounded as happy as me with result. From what is a horrible situation it all turned out positive thanks to backpedal. So much worth the subscripton.

Great communications and pleasant to speak with, from first message to tracker installation and confirmation of my bike being protected. Obviously can’t comment on recovery and don’t ever hope to be in that situation but am hopeful that side of the business is done as professionally as the side I’ve seen thus far

James and his team went to great lengths to test their bike tracker product in my Carbon Road bike. It’s not designed for such bikes, but at my request they agreed to test it. When it didn’t work (as we had anticipated), they refunded me in full without me even having to ask. They’re a great company doing important work to keep our bikes safe, and I hope to come back to them in the future when the technology has advanced sufficiently for use in carbon bikes.

Wonderfully helpful company, that made the experience of fitting the tracker to the bike super easy.

After having an ebike bike stolen earlier in the year I had the new bike fitted with a tracker
Again this bike was stolen from my house I followed the progress of the bike via a app on my phone.i contacted Back Pwdal on their emergency number and tracked the bike and recovered in just a few hours. The service I received was brilliant from start to finish . I can not praise this company enough. Without them I would have not have got my bike back

Amazing team and easy communication. I unfortunately had my bike stolen not long after purchasing it while it was locked up in Dalston Kingsland shopping centre. The team at Backpedal were on the ball with answering my call and tracking the bike to some bushes in Hackney marshes. Super quick turnaround time, friendly team, effective and multiple methods of communication. I’m really happy with them. Thankyou.

I love Backpedal because I know all locks eventually can be defeated and like the chance to get my bike back. I like the piece of mind from knowing I have the additional backup of recovery, which I don't have to take the personal risk of doing.

Firstly the professionalism of your service when you came to fit the tracker and that it just worked. Coming to my house was amazing service. Secondly, how you report (and I hope keep reporting) retrieval success stories. Thirdly, just the reassurance that the chances of getting my bike back are much higher with you than anything else I think.

Backpedal is such a good idea and super easy to enrol.
I have been with the company for a few years now. The app is really easy to use. It gives indication when tracker needs recharging so you never get caught out
I had the misfortune of returning to train station to find my bike missing. I reported it to the team who sprung into action, traced location of my bike and returned it to me (I only wish I could have been there to see face of the thief when they had knock on their door)
I would highly recommend BackPedal if you value your bike.
