I was looking for some portable workout equipment that would allow me to maintain a good level of physical activity whilst traveling. I work out 4-6 times a week, and was going to be away for a month in northern Botswana where gyms are a rare luxury. I initially had some difficulty placing the order as Canada wasn't listed on the destinations BGR shipped to. I communicated directly with David and he was extremely helpful getting my set shipped out promptly. I must say i'm very happy with this kit. All parts are made exceptionally well and I expect they'll give me many years of regular use (they'll likely outlast my 59 year old body!). My only complaint is the weight of the pull-up bar; it's a bit heavier than expected, but even with the added weight, my luggage was well under the allowed maximum. It was easy to set up, and stayed in regular use for the duration of my trip, and generated a lot of questions and envious looks from my coworkers- I was happy to share with them.

I've lowered my original rating from 3 to 2 stars. Why? Because of the extreme pettiness from BGR complaining & saying that my review was 'promotional' (not once, but twice!) - really, just being fair & critical of the BGR, especially the egregious price, natty bag (an insult frankly to us customers buying this premium priced product), etc. As such I've removed the name of the far superior (& very similarly functioning - maybe this is why BGR not happy? Maybe BGR 'inspired' by the recoil mechanism of this product?) product.

I'm very disappointed with how BGR have behaved in this regard. He says he wants reviews - positive & negative. Well, unfortunately that's a fallacy as constructive criticism is not accepted. For this behaviour to a paying customer providing constructive criticism I've lopped a star off. If I was as petty as BGR, I'd have lopped off two.

See below my review before all this nonsense with the 'offending' brand name (of which I have no affiliation) removed. Who knows - perhaps its recoil mechanism served as 'inspiration' to BGR.

Reasonable product with some good features though greatly overpriced - much better as well as cheaper options available out there.

I regret my purchase (September '22) of the BGR. It's way overpriced by around £50+. A far superior product that is similarly priced would be the _____ - the strap system is far more effective & smoother - with the BGR I'm worried the strap mechanism will break whenever I use it. The build quality of the BGR is also far inferior to that of the _____. It's also heavier & bulkier than the _____ & with a cheap flimsy bag ready to tear & break at any moment. On the the other hand, reflecting its high price point, the bag for the S2 is high quality doubling also as a door anchor. The door anchor provided in the BGR kit is another area where it falls short - flimsier than the door anchors provided with the cheapest resistance band kits available on amazon.

It's not all bad though. The grips really are where the BGR shines - though unfortunately this doesn't make up for the other areas in which it fails (BGR strap units/door anchor/bag/bar). Nor does it justify the ridiculously excessive price tag. They're grippy & have a great adjustable strap for any suspension trainer exercises where you're not holding the grips with your hands but using your feet.

This, really is where the BGR is best, as a suspension trainer. However, it's still very heavy & an awkward bulky shape if you were to travel with it in its lightest & most 'compact' form (minus rings & bar). And don't forget the tatty cheap mesh bag provided! Most suspension trainers will be lighter & more compact. Even the heavy _____ retains a better shape in its bag (& is probably lighter to boot).

In conclusion, an interesting idea in theory, though not so great in practice. There are far better (& affordable) options - even buying a separate set of gymnastic wooden rings with numbered straps (approx £40) & suspension trainer (£100+/-) you'll be spending significantly less than the BGR. Both together will probably be even lighter & less bulky (plus, as a bonus, you might also get better quality bags to carry your kit!).

My recommendation is to get gymnastic rings or a suspension trainer or both. If you want something 'similar' to the BGR at the same price point, go for the above mentioned trainer. It's an expensive item but is far more deserving of its price tag than the BGR.

I had to edit the above as BGR didn't appreciate the comparing of their product to better (& cheaper) similar options labelling it 'promotional'. I'm just highlighting where, in my opinion, the BGR falls short (whilst also drawing attention to its strengths). In addition, one thing I believe BGR should do is provide all purchasers a proper reasonable quality bag to replace the tatty mesh bag (really a big no no for such a high cost product).

Still haven't received my product yet I got a date that was supposed to arrive December 23rd I still haven't received it my Post Office knows nothing and I can't even find the email with the tracking number I would like to know if I'm going to get my product I do not need to stop payment

I've used BGR for about 3 weeks now. Excellent, excellent product! Would buy again if the need arises and would recommend BGR to others!

It’s not too often that I get the opportunity to directly rate the owner/CEO of a company, so I hope that my perspective as a once-backer and now a forever-satisfied BGR-user may help you in some way.

Besides a great product design and a realistic plan to bring it to it’s genesis, David’s other key strength is managing others’ expectations through regular, convenient communications.

The only time I had a slight doubt was sometime in April when your BGR was on the cusp of final assembly and shipping. My personal doubt was due to the fact I was relocating to a new address during the summer and I was concerned that my BGR would be lost. Yet, David personally reassured me via private email communications and explained to me the Backer Kit options that were due out, just days before you repeated the same info through Indie Go-Go to all your other backers.

Thank you, David, for taking the additional time and steps for me. I’m sure you have given much of yourself to may other people throughout this journey.

Remember your strengths and keys to your success, and please don’t repeat hard lessons that you should’ve already learned from BGR.

Great product but was severely disappointed about the "bag" the BGR came with, expected a proper backpack designed for the BGR. Not just a mesh bag that barely fits everything & is inconvenient to carry around

I purchased this (invested into product development) nearly 2-years ago (roughly) via Indiegogo. It's been quite a wait, and I'm sure David was as frustrated at times as many of his investors will have been.
Anyway, he's developed and delivered a high quality product that will hopefully stand the test of time so all's well that ends well.
Due to the time of year and (critically) no suitable trees (I live by the sea and never really considered this), I've only used it indoor so far and only to check it's all in order and so I know how to set it up in future. Looking forward to Spring time, finding more suitable anchor points (children's adventure playground nearby) and really giving it a go.
Four stars rather than five? Primarily the wait, the lack of communication at times and, now I've got the product, I think some video tutorials would help novices such as myself.

I have a set of bar grips and rings. They are great addition to my home fitness regime. I especially like the quick adjustments that you can make to the height and the ability to swap quickly between different pieces of equipment. So much easier to use than similar equipment but with the variety to change it.

The product is great. It was the slowest delivery I have ever had.

Unbelievable easy to set up and adjust accurately for the specific exercise you want to perform. Very portable. A real revolution.

I recently received my BGR kit and love it. The versatility of changing from bar to rings and easy hight adjustments are fantastic. I am able to do a sequence of exercises al with one piece of gym equipment.
My grandkids can’t wait to come visit again to try exercising with grandpa as they are kid friendly too.

Went above and beyond to ensure that products were delivered to the standard initially proposed on the kickstarter page. Cannot take this for granted as many kickstarter companies are more than willing to sacrifice on the quality of the final product in order to just get something out to buyers.

I received my BGR a few weeks ago and it has quickly become my favorite bit of workout gear next to my 40kg. adjustable kettlebell. As soon as I saw the first video, I knew I had to get it, even though I already had two pairs of rings and straps and heaps of other gear as I could tell the BGR could replace a lot of it. The BGR was made with the care that only dedicated enthusiasts could produce and is even better than the original specs I signed up for at a very good price. Full length firm padding on the bar for a comfortable, sure grip in any position; two 1 meter attachment straps with multiple loops for hanging on any size attachment points, and which can be used with the bar, handles or rings for isometric work, which even the maker may not have figured out, but I have already made good use of. The rings are the larger diameter wooden type for a great grip and more comfortable false grip and the retractable strap units have inbuilt carabiners and work just as well as I hoped for with no-fuss quick height adjustments and, of course, completely eliminating having to deal with dangling straps getting in the way or having to spend time unrolling or untangling and fiddling with trying to get the straps lined up evenly then rolling back up when you’re done. The handles are also tough as with a durable textured gripping surface and foot loops. The net bag that comes with probably won’t hold up long term, especially as I move around a lot, but I have other backpacks more suited for transport, though a made for carry bag might be something David and team might want to offer in the future. Equally impressive as the BGR is the fact that David and his team persevered in the face of incredible challenges during the global insanity and kept high integrity in communication during all the delays that were not of their doing and kept or exceeded all their promises in terms of design, product quality, logistics and keeping shipping costs down. I look forward to years of fun, productive workouts with my BGR.

I purchased these rings on a whim and love them. They allow me to adjust the length of the straps holding the rings in seconds. The bar it comes with is excellent too - quite sturdy. I’m new to using rings and am really enjoying this purchase. No regrets.

The product is easy to use and does as advertised! It holds my weight no problem. I will be using it regularly for my fitness routine.
