Beyond Academy gives college students the opportunity to have an unforgettable experience in a new place as well as concrete work experience both for a more complete resume and sharper skills to apply in your career. I met some amazing people and developed a great relationship with my host company.

Abroad with Beyond in Seoul
I had an overall great experience with Beyond Academy in Seoul. The staff always offered amazing support regarding questions and was super friendly. You could always join activities with others and built friendships. The internship I did was also very trustworthy and I barley had any major problems, especially with regular check-in’s. I spent 5 months abroad and I felt very safe. A lot of information was always offered, as well as good preparation before coming and joining. I had the best time abroad!

Got to do an internship in Bangkok
Got to do an internship in Bangkok, Thailand. Biggest city I've ever lived in and first time working in person for a company and I was never stressed. Beyond really helps you every step of the way with finding an internship, housing, and then hosting events throughout the internship so you can meet other interns! My favorite part of this experience was getting so many opportunities to talk to and learn from local people so I always had someone I could ask for recommendations of things to do. We had a paid for trip to another city for a week and my boss took everyone out to dinner and to different activities after work and it was a lot of fun and a great look into the Thai work and social culture.

My 6 week experience with beyond
During my 6 weeks in barcelona I was given the opportunity to intern at a consulting firm and gain hands on experience working with Catalonias sustainability strategy. I worked hybrid so during my free time I was able to take weekend trips and explore the city. Beyond organized activities for their interns, curating community and providing opportunities to explore parts of barcelona I otherwise wouldn’t have known existed. I made a lot of great memories and I am so grateful to beyond for facilitating a wonderful experience.

Hi Quincy! Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review of your experience in Barcelona!
We’re so happy to hear that your six weeks in Barcelona gave you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with your host company and work on Catalonia’s sustainability strategy. It sounds like you made the most of your hybrid schedule too, from exploring Barcelona to taking weekend trips and discovering new places around the city!
We’re especially glad you enjoyed the activities and excursions organized by our Community Team. Creating opportunities for interns to explore different parts of the city, connect with one another, and experience things they may not have discovered on their own is such an important part of the Beyond Academy experience. And we couldn’t agree more about our Barcelona Coordinator, we’ll definitely pass along your kind words!
Thank you again for choosing to spend your summer with us, Quincy! We’re so glad Beyond Academy could help facilitate such a memorable experience, and we wish you all the best for everything ahead!

Hi Octavia,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! It makes us so happy to hear how much you enjoyed your internship in Bangkok and how much you’ve grown throughout the program.
We’re so grateful that you chose to take this journey with us and that you’re leaving with such positive memories. Thank you for recommending the program to others, we hope this experience continues to inspire you in your future career and adventures!
Wishing you all the best, Octavia! 😊
Would definitely recommend this program!
Would definitely recommend this program for interns who also want to experience a foreign country! Beyond gives plenty of options for host countries, and the team is very helpful before and during the trip! Everyone I met while abroad were so nice as well as the other interns, I will never forget them!
Only downside is the price of the trip. Very expensive, but the program also includes two activities every week, but only some are paid for. The difference in accommodation locations were pretty big, and you don't get a say in where you stay. Some interns had to travel over an hour every day for work, but for me personally, I was put in a spot one stop away from my job on the subway, which was perfect.
Interning abroad for six weeks was a perfect amount of time to see everything that I wanted to. The Seoul team was very helpful in setting up our subway cards, and answering any questions we had. The range of activities set up for us were very big, some days we visited historical sites, others would be more modern. I feel like I got the full Seoul experience! Thank you Beyond!

We're so glad to hear that you had such a memorable six weeks in Seoul and that you enjoyed exploring the city, meeting fellow interns, and taking part in the community activities. It's wonderful to know that our Seoul team helped you settle in and made your experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
We also really appreciate you taking the time to share your honest feedback about the accommodation. We always strive to place interns in accommodation that offers the best possible balance of commute time, availability, and overall experience. We're pleased your accommodation worked out well for you, and we're continually working with our accommodation partners to improve consistency and provide the best experience possible across all of our destinations.
Thank you again for choosing Beyond Academy and for recommending us to future interns. We wish you all the best in your future career, and we're so happy to have been part of your journey!
An Amazing Opportunity!
Through Beyond Academy, I was able to land an amazing internship and explore Seoul for six weeks! Every step of the way Beyond Academy was there to help and guide me. From helping me prep for interviews or resolving issues with my accommodations, I am so glad that I took this opportunity! This was my first time traveling by myself ever, and I was very nervous about being alone in a new country! But the coordinators in Seoul were so helpful and kind! They made sure that my trip to Seoul went smoothly and that I got to my accommodations safely. Whenever I had a problem I knew I could reach out to them for help!
Exploring the city with the coordinators and other interns was definitely a highlight of my trip. Also, working in Seoul is such an amazing experience. I learned so much from just six weeks working as an intern that will help me during the rest of my career. If you are thinking about interning abroad, I would recommend Beyond Academy!

We're so happy to hear that your six weeks in Seoul were such a rewarding experience. It means a lot to know that our team was able to support you every step of the way, from preparing for your interviews to helping you settle into a new country and making sure you always had someone to turn to when you needed it.
We're especially glad to hear that the Seoul coordinators helped make your first solo international trip such a positive one, and that exploring the city with the community was one of the highlights of your experience. Thank you again for trusting Beyond Academy with your internship abroad. We wish you all the best in your future career, and we're so excited to see where your journey takes you next!
Bullying techniques to get you to accept a rubbish placement and wanting paying lots in fees!
If you are an international student looking for an opportunity to visit and experience a foreign country then this might work for you. However, if you genuinely want a relevant and good quality internship that will help you further your career or study, then look elsewhere. My daughter got offered a bakery!! she wanted Textiles and Fashion. It is just an expensive way of seeing another city, working for free and getting lots of trips. They bullied my daughter into attending interviews that she wasn't interested in, then refused to refund her deposit because apparently working in a bakery is a placement. Then they pressured her into paying the material second payment of £2,000, when it was clear the placements were really poor quality.
Just be warned they will place you where they want to place you, not what works for you. Avoid!!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that Molly's experience did not meet her expectations. We would, however, like to provide some additional context to ensure an accurate picture of the process.
Throughout her application, Molly selected Fashion, Art, Design & Photography, and Marketing, Advertising & PR as her preferred industries.
One of the opportunities presented was with a creative lifestyle and consumer brand. While a branch of the company also operates a bakery business, the internship itself was not a bakery role and instead focused on marketing, content creation, branding, and creative communications. As such, the opportunity aligned with Molly's stated interests, fell within her selected industry preferences, and met her university's placement requirements.
We also arranged an interview with a second company, a boutique brand offering a creative role. Following the interview, Molly provided positive feedback on the opportunity and thanked us for arranging it, while also asking if we could continue exploring additional options.
At no stage was Molly forced to accept a placement or attend any interview. The opportunities presented were discussed with her throughout the process, and interviews were arranged based on the preferences she had communicated to us. However, before we could continue progressing her application and exploring further opportunities, Molly declined her scheduled programme payment and was subsequently withdrawn from the programme.
We appreciate that internship searches are highly personal, and not every opportunity will be the right fit for every participant. However, we do not recognise the suggestion that Molly was "placed where we wanted" or that she was pressured into accepting a role. Our records show that the opportunities presented were selected based on the preferences and flexibility Molly provided.
We wish Molly all the best with her future studies and career.
My Experience in London with Beyond
From the start, Beyond has been nothing but professional, efficient, helpful, and so much fun. For students who are looking to pursue an experience overseas, I would highly recommend taking an interest in Beyond. Beyond clearly cares about their students by setting up several weekly events to get connected with a community, and pairs you with an experience that is perfect.

Beyond Academy Tokyo
I did an internship with Beyond Academy's Tokyo program, and it was one of the best decisions I made in my life. Everything from the coordinators to the events, to the internship itself exceeded my expectations. Tokyo is not an easy place to live, but Beyond makes it so you have a support team the whole time and makes the whole experience much smoother and more fun.

Hi Samantha!
We're delighted to hear that you felt matched with the right host company and were able to gain meaningful, hands-on experience throughout your internship. One of our biggest goals is to ensure interns are able to contribute in a real and impactful way, so it's wonderful to hear that you felt valued as a team member and had opportunities to build professional connections, share ideas, and work directly with clients.
We're also so happy that our Tokyo team helped make your experience abroad feel supported from start to finish. Moving to a city like Tokyo can be both exciting and challenging, so it's great to hear that the coordinators, social events, and intern community helped you settle in and make the most of your time there.
My internship experience with Beyond…More Than an Internship.
My internship experience with Beyond Academy was incredibly valuable, both professionally and personally. From the beginning, the program was well-structured and supportive, making the transition into a new work environment feel smooth and exciting rather than overwhelming.
One of the standout aspects of Beyond Academy is the level of guidance and mentorship provided. The team consistently checked in, offered advice, and created a strong sense of community among interns. This made a huge difference, especially being in a new city and navigating a new industry. Their workshops and career coaching sessions were particularly helpful in building confidence, refining my professional skills, and thinking more intentionally about my career path.
Through my placement, I was able to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, creative environment. I developed practical skills, learned how to collaborate effectively within a team, and gained insight into the realities of working in my field. The exposure to real projects and responsibilities helped me grow quickly and feel more prepared for future opportunities.
Beyond the professional side, the cultural and social aspects of the program were just as rewarding. Meeting other interns from around the world, exploring the city together, and sharing experiences made the internship even more memorable.
Overall, I would highly recommend Beyond Academy to anyone looking to gain meaningful work experience while also growing personally. It’s a great balance of professional development, support, and adventure, and it has definitely been a defining experience in my journey so far.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience, Anna!
We're thrilled to hear that your internship in London was both professionally and personally rewarding. It's especially great to hear that you felt supported throughout your journey and that the workshops, career coaching, and community aspects of the program helped you build confidence and make the most of your experience abroad.
We're also delighted that your placement gave you the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, develop new skills, and gain valuable insight into your chosen field. Experiences like these are exactly what we hope our interns take away from their time on the program.
One of the best parts of an international internship is the people you meet along the way, so we're glad you were able to connect with fellow interns and explore London together. Those friendships and memories often end up being just as impactful as the professional experience itself.
My Trip to Tokyo
My trip to Tokyo was a lot better going through Beyond! Instead of having to worry about my own accommodation or having to figure out problems I had when getting here, everything was made so much more simple because of the great communication I had with the coordinators! Not to mention the several opportunities you’ll have to make friends amongst all of the events that Beyond hosts, which were great because the coordinators really cared about our opinions and what events we would like! I never felt like I didn’t have anyone to lean back on because they were always there to help my with anything I needed.

3 month beyonder
Coming here for 3 months was an experience that I wasn't too sure what to expect. My overall experience was fantastic and loved 95% most of it. Of course, not everything or every single part is 100% positive, but there's really nothing negative I could say about my experience here in Seoul. The friends I made were really awesome, the coordinators were very sweet and understanding, and the colleagues at my internship became very to me like family. My only real negative experience here had nothing to do with the program or Seoul in general. I was just unlucky and had a tooth filling come out on my first day after arriving. But the experience of finding a dentist and getting it taken care of went very well too. If you're looking to take a leap and experience a new chapter in your life, take the leap. You likely won't regret it
