Really terrible experience

Really terrible experience. We have just moved into a property that desperately needs renovation/ refurbishment. We ordered a large amount of panelling. First attempt, company failed to deliver, 2nd attempt they sent all different coloured panels, so half way through the job, our builders had to stop work due to the company sending us the wrong items. We ordered light oak panels and they sent us all walnut panels, which is frustrating as we need the work done asap so had to accept what they sent us, we still have different coloured panels and have contacted the company several times to inform them of this and we have been completely ignored on numerous occasions. Better off looking elsewhere, I do not recommend this company.

Excellent Service

We bought a light fitting but sadly on opening whas't what we were hoping for and so returned it - it looked nice but just wasn't for right for us. The return occurred over Christmas so there was a slight delay with the refund but can't fault the response from Klaudia at BHS. I know there are loads of negative reviews but the experience for us was fine!

Instructions for bedside lamps are incorrect

Pair of bedside lights arrived OK and on time. No bulbs included. The bulbs needed as per instruction leaflet are no longer available, the capsule bulbs are now superseded by LED bulbs but make sure you buy the shorter of the two bulbs which are made by Philips. Waste of my time and two trips to the shops.

Don’t use this company, Sue Ryder also collect furniture.use them instead.
Delivery lads refused to take a beautiful chest of genuine antique Georgian drawers, circa 1750 because they were old. A dealer would have bought them. Plonkers!

Cleaned lamp inside and it was dirty but the pattern came off

Bought lamps from them for yrs ,never had any problems but this lamp had tge gold dot inside the lamp so a few wks back I decided I clean the inside of the lamp to my disappointment the design rubbed off ,reported it too them sent pics ,they came back and said I’d had the lamp for three yrs and it was basically epwear and tear ,surly cleaning up the inside of the lamp shouldn’t have took the pattern off but it did ,no happy with this

Great quality items ordered. The only issue I personally have is the delivery wait times but I did order just after Christmas so it's to help expected.

Customer service not worth their salt. Avoid

Customer service not worth their salt. Phoned them three times for different things, each time the girl on the end of the phone says ‘You need to email in.” First time emailed: no response. Second email: no response. Had to buy an extra fitting to rectify the problem. Wanted to return it. Conditions state that returned goods even within 14 days with return authorisation will be rejected. How do you get return authorisation? Email them! Guess what? I did, and no response. Utterly useless.
No quibble returns? Forget it. It should say No damned returns!

Goods are generally nice, until things go wrong. Then you’re by yourself. And don’t think you will get around it by taking stuff back to the shop if you have a Litecraft store near you. You buy it mail-order, you have to return it the same way. If you live in the Birmingham area, their Erdington store is closing. Wonder why?
Avoid.

Dreadful and awkward returns procedure

Dreadful and awkward returns procedure. Return label was expensive at £8.95. My item was received back at their warehouse 7 days ago but still no refund. This can and will take up to 14 days to 'process' GO ELSEWHERE!

Dreadful

Dreadful. I’ve been trying to return some wall lights for a week now. Phone calls don’t connect - message to say call cannot be taken , please call again later. No reply to emails. I think they do this deliberately to stop anyone being able to return and get refund!

Downside. No tea coffee in room. Restaurant only have 300ml glasses ok for wine, beer and soft drinks lucky to get 100ml rest froth, similarly coffee machine one press delivers 100ml. Better at pool bar. 3 days without shower gel despite 2 requests.
Be prepared take fluid container, and circumvent minimal approach.

Incompetent lazy staff

Incompetent people.
Really friendly on the phone when they want a decent rating for their ego.
I got in touch with my local BHS to donate a really good leather armchair.
Not only did they fail to collect, (fair enough strovetide closed the road briefly), they refuse to pick up the phone and reschedule. Even when main office is prompted. But we are talking about Alfreton! Aren't we? Enough said.
No offence but I walked into the Derby store, who also refused to come out.
Half of their sofas look like they have urine stains on and are being sold at big prices. I got a brand new sofa off eBay for less money and that's without the stains.
I don't understand why they don't want a decent piece of furniture that could make the charity some money? What's the point in asking for donations if you're not willing to take one in great and CLEAN condition.
So is the money for the purpose of themselves then? Makes you question it.
I will never waste my time with these, "lazy ass working people that society is turning into nowadays who want to get paid for doing sweet FA but moan about people on benefits".
And don't be telling people, you're all volunteers. We all know you get your hands in first!

Really disappointed with the BHS…

Really disappointed with the BHS service. I've purchased a beautiful chandelier from their website, however unfortunately it was not suitable for our living room. Their customer service advised that I was not able to return it due to missing the 14 days (please bear that in mind when ordering from them) return period, so I have asked if I could possibly return it for an exchange or a store credit but their answer was no. Really unhelpful service on their behalf.

Don't bother with this company

Don't bother with this company, I wish I'd read the reviews before buying. Ordered 2 lamps, both turned up damaged. One was missing all the packaging and obviously an item someone had already returned. I've contacted customer service and had no reply, just like all the others.
Now I'll just wait for their generic response below that they give to all their unhappy customers. Make sure you use a credit card or PayPal with these guys so you can your money back, as otherwise you won't have a chance

Pathetic company, fast and free delivery however the moment you need to send something back they make your life as hard as possible. Email add provided on the website doesn't work, once getting through to them via social media staff take days to respond to any emails sent.

You have 14 days to send items back (at your own cost) which is poor as most online retailers allow approx 28days. Would NOT use the company again, too much hassle.

I will never use BHS again

I will never use BHS again, the returns is s nightmare, after several E-Mails and many phone calls, it’s as clear as mud..£8 95 for each item to return, of course written in there very small print, looking to take this further, and investigate, not a great service for the elderly people..don’t know how long I will wait for £300 worth of returns to be refunded..Do not shop with this company, customer service is shocking. Looking at the reviews it seems I am not the only disappointed customer.
