Subscription continued without notification due to non-transparent billing settings
I signed up for the 14-day free trial of Blabigo’s LinkedIn authoring service and provided my credit card details. I believed I had cancelled within the trial period, but was later charged for a subscription.
What I found particularly concerning was the complete lack of communication after the trial ended—no confirmation that a paid subscription had started, no onboarding emails, and no invoice notifications. I only became aware that I was being billed when I noticed the recurring charge on my credit card.
When I reviewed my account settings, I discovered that email invoices are only sent if you explicitly opt in. This means that, by default, customers may be charged on a recurring basis without receiving any billing emails or reminders.
In my view, this setup lacks transparency and significantly increases the risk that users remain unaware of active subscriptions. At a minimum, clear notification of subscription activation and billing should be standard, not optional.
I would strongly advise anyone considering this service to carefully check their billing settings and monitor their payment method to avoid unexpected charges.
