I’m 57 years old and I’ve lost everything. I met a man online who I thought was a potential partner. He showed me his ID and we planned to merge our lives. He convinced me to invest thousands into his "platform." It was a fake front-end site showing fake profits. They let me withdraw $500 once to trick me into putting more in. When I tried to withdraw a large amount for my living expenses, they froze the account. They told me I needed to pay "verification taxes." It’s a pyramid scheme that steals from retirees. I’ve reported it to the police, but there’s been no progress. I’m questioning their competence. I’m now choosing between my heart medication and my power bill. My mortgage is a monster I can't feed. This experience has left me with nothing but trauma and debt. It’s shocking they’re still scamming people.
