I keep getting recommendations based on my "unique credit profile" Always the same crappy capone junk cards and fairstone personal loans at 26.99%. What a joke. In the last month I've had 2 pre-approved offers, no fee cards decent sign-up and no annual fees. I have zero debt, pay my balances in full every month and Borrowell thinks the best I deserve is a crap one cc and fair-rip personal loan

Harassment from collection agencies. You check a credit score, then you will get tonnes of robocalls, and /or emails from collection agencies who say that you owe money to so called delinquent defaulted accounts. I get several of these weekly. Some of them (collections) say that they want to send me to litigation, even though I don't owe any money. Best to report spam and don't open any of the links or emails from them. I think that all of these are just AI. You can not really tell the difference between them anymore

I’m not sure what is up with their service. I had a credit score and then in one week it disappeared to 0. I freaked out (obviously) and sent them a message but they told me to contact equifax because I must not have any open accounts (I do, I even logged into equifax to check my monthly free score there) or that I must have more than one equifax account and I need to merge them. When I logged into equifax, everything was as it should be. Things that weren’t reporting on Borrowell were reporting to equifax fine, and up to date as well.
The rent advantage I paid for, for a few months never made it onto any of my reports so that was wasted money (supposed to appear after a month or two - at 3 months now and nothing so I cancelled).
All these emails and trying to upsell things all the time. I prefer using credit Karma for my updates and you can get free monthly Equifax credit reports straight from the source without all the extra trying to sell you things.

In January of 2019 we took out a loan with them, everything was great until recently. We reached out a few times to get a pay out statement since there are only a few months left and we want to pay off the loan. No callback, no Ema reply just complete and disrespectful avoidance. They have totally ignored contacting us back although their website clearly states you can pay off at any time with no penalties.

This type of customer service is disrespectful, dishonest, and just completely rude and ignorant.

Dishonest company that falsely reports credit, in order to lure customers into purchasing financial products. Get you annual free report through the actual agencies and forget these scammers.

Not even 2 minutes after signing up for this and I have received 3 calls from 1 888 phone numbers trying to scam me.

FAKE RECOMMENDATIONS. I have been using Borrowell for about 2 years now closely watching my credit score...goes up, goes down (NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT OR WAS LATE WITH A PAYMENT IN 4 YEARS)......Applied for a credit card where "their" recommendation was "Excellent"....was declined. Now all I get is emails from loan companies trying to scam me. Borrowell is useless and does not show an accurate display of my credit history. By using their "recommendations" all this does is LOWER MY score because these companies do a credit check and this lowers the score. Back to the OLD FASHION way of contacting Trans Union or Equifax DIRECTLY. Stay away from Borrowell app.

Just signed up for $5/mo to report rent. They said it shows up as a trade line and visible in 4 weeks as ""BRWL SELF-RPT RENT." Wish they could come up with a better name for credibility. First month - not sure if it will work yet, timeline to show seems to quick normally its 4 months - checkout is stripe.

All other services seem fine to check score. Haven't used a referred product yet.

Update: system is always broken so I have to email their team monthly a screenshot or statement of my etransfer to my landlord.

Started off optimistic when using Borrowell, however, things gradually took a turn for the worse. Signed up for the Rent Advantage program and have had nothing but problems since starting. Their systems are not able to detect my payments and I am bombarded with automatical email reminders telling me they will be reported to Equifax as "late" when in reality, they were paid on time. I had to jump through a ton of hoops to make things work last month and this month is a complete repeat. Customer service is completely MIA and I've lost a great deal of trust and faith in this platform as a result, especially considering this program is a paid service. It basically looks like I'm paying to destroy my credit. Not thrilled.

It’s unfortunate I’m unable to give zero stars. I have fought with this company for almost a year to report my credit accurately. It gets fixed for a week or so and then reverts back. I contacted Equifax and they advised that Borrowell’s reporting doesn’t have any real value other than giving an idea of where your credit is at. Equifax for the record reports my bureau correctly.
I have tried and tried to have this corrected and all Borrowell does is point at Equifax who again, reports my bureau correctly. Credit Karma on the other hand, reports my bureau correctly. If you’re going to use one of these third party providers, I would strongly advise to use Credit Karma. Borrowell just can’t seem to get it right. Be better Borrowell. Canadians have the right to accurate reporting.

Borrowell has "offered" to 'lend' me my own funds @ 19.9% interest. This is a scam at best and fraud at worst. They continue to push a questionable loan from a company with no verifiable information. Next I suspect they will seek bank account information and they do not respond to my questions nor concerns.

Borrowell does not offer accurate credit score information. I applied for a loan whose minimum credit score requirement was 650. Borrowell said that my score was 737, so I confidently applied for the loan. Today I was denied the loan because my score didn't meet their minimum requirement which means that my score is less than 650. Thanks so much @borrowell

The only thing Borrowell has going for it is the free credit scores. Stay far, far away from their "recommendations" for loans, credit cards etc. They aren't tailored to you as they claim, and they won't grant you a loan no matter what the crooks of Borrowell try to tell you.

My issue with Borrowell is their fake loan recommendations pushing questionable companies on their customers. Borrowell repeatedly nagged me by email for several months about a company "Fresh start" supposedly being willing to offer me a loan based on my credit score. So, when I needed to borrow money I stupidly believed Borrowell's BS recommendation and filed an application with "Fresh start". I soon found out that "Fresh start" is a fly by night company that operates under several different names and can't even get their own aliases straight. They pulled a bait and switch on me, replied to my application under two different company names and didn't even consider my loan application after demanding a stack of private info. Instead they pushed me to apply for one of their fake "savings" loans which is a stone cold ripoff. So much for being willing to approve my loan based on my credit score!

Since Borrowell recommended these crooks, I wrote an email to Borrowell to complain about this company and its tactics. Their response was a disrespectful and patronizing "well not all loans are approved you know" as if I were in kindergarten and as if I had been complaining about my loan application being denied when I was complaining about their fly by night choice of "partner". They passed the buck onto "First start" and refused to take any responsibility for THEIR choice of these criminals to recommend to their clients. So if one of Borrowell's "partners" screws you over, don't expect even an apology from Borrowell even though it's 100% their fault for lying to you and pushing them on you in the first place.

Hey Borrowell, when you push crooks on your customers, lie, and stonewall them when they complain, don't be surprised if they conclude that you're crooks, too. If you had taken any responsibility or shown any respect when I complained I wouldn't be here writing this now. I'll be getting my credit scores directly from Equifax from now on.

Very inaccurate. How does a credit score drop 11 points after years of no late payments? What a waste of time.

They are a free service that keeps you up to date on your credit report. I use them all the time and I love them. It’s made me think how important it is to have a good credit rating. Thank you Borrowell!!

upset about this website, registration stuck because it says unable to confirm identity and there is no other step rather to wait since one week nothing and did not reply to my email and I can't even delete my account

I wrote this review 5 months ago and still the same can't do anything with my account even to delete it
whihc in un fair, they hold my personal information while I even don't have their phone number
