Brandon Hire in Hull was recommended
Brandon Hire Hull was recommended to me. I needed to hire an MI Tower for our local Methodist Church to complete some internal painting. From start to finish the service was 100%. The equipment was in full working order and the delivery drivers were great during the delivery and collection of the equipment. Best of all the deposit was refunded quickly. I will use this company again and have no problem in recommending them in the future.

Ordered a generator for the weekend
Ordered a generator for the weekend, delivery was fine, item worked when tested on Friday but wouldn’t start on Saturday for our event. No out of hours/weekend contact by phone or email. Called Monday to complain and was put through to local office who never apologised and suggested we had made an error. Advised they would investigate on collection. On Collection the item wouldn’t even turn over, that was three days ago and I’m yet to have any further contact! Awaiting my refund please for delivery of an unsuitable item to an event with 50 people at which an hour before we had to scramble to get electrical cables across a road. Exactly what we wanted to avoid by hiring.

Poor
Booked an earth auger with 150 & 200mm bits online. Went to pick up & it only had a 150mm bit which was no good to me. They said they would get the 200mm bit back from another branch where it had been sent, for next day. Phoned to check out had arrived, but told, no, it was another 150mm bit. Bought myself a new earth auger for
about £70 more than 2-day hire, and will sell after use costing me less than hiring. Very poor.

DO NOT USE IF YOU ARE A DOMESTIC USER
Hired through these a few times being an engineering project manager. Whenever I have had an issue in business, it has been resolved. Our throughput is often in the tens of thousands a year.
When hiring for myself, however, encountering a problem with a wood chipper, by proxy through national tool hire, they refuse to acknowledge they sent out equipment that was unfit for purpose: the blade was dull, and I could get no use out of it. It cut wood with a thudding noise rather than a cutting noise, and clogged three times within twenty minutes. Proof was provided to the company. They continue to dispute. Unfortunately for them, I am not a simple domestic user: I am likely more qualified than their entire inspection team put together. I have commissioned all sorts, from high-pressure boilers, to rolls-Royce generators, to gas turbines, to process equipment. Suffice to say I can definitely do a root cause analysis on a simple bit of kit.
If resolved I shall edit the review. If not, I shall be removing this company from our approved suppliers’ list and blacklisting the company. Terrible service if they believe you are just the average person.
