Been trying to contact Council…
Been trying to contact Council concerning my Council tax impossible to talk to anyone. Very hard to deal with anyone
Like many others I've been "caught"
Like many others I've been "caught" out by the scam clean air zone. I was treated by my daughter to a father's day night out in Bristol. She saved her money to pay. She is 16. I am disabled and unable to work. We paid the congestion zone payment but we're told by the hotel we didn't have to on the way out as there's a different way out of the car park. I could not find the alternative exit and ended up after following the exit signs on the exit to the M32. I couldn't reverse as it would have been dangerous. There were no clear signs from the level we were on to get out. I had every Intention of paying because my ex partner was caught twice without paying in or out and on appeal received no fine. I paid to get in and because I couldn't find the alternative emailed the council straight away to appeal as I could not find the alternative route. They have disallowed my appeal and want to charge me £60 plus the £9 I should have paid and if not it will be £120. The car park is on the edge of the zone and I was in Bristol less than 24 hours. What on earth is going on with their sick minds? I am appealing this because how can they let someone with no good reason off twice in and out but fine me when I am not only disabled but had a genuine reason why I ended up in the zone!
So today 16/9/24 I've lost my appeal against this change and have to pay £129 for basically driving less than 2 miles in under 24 hours and I am fully disabled individual. Bristol won't be seeing me again and I advise anyone else to stay away the the place!
Bristol Council are scammers
Bristol Council are scammers. Just been caught with clean air scam. No warning signs on the m4/m5 warning motorists going to Bristol Airport.
Bristol airport has just lost future business from me and I am a frequent flyer (only once from Bristol & now the last) .
Disgusting place
Disgusting place. Rips off motorists passing through that had no idea about the clean air zone. Car is good enough for ulez London but not Bristol. No chance to pay in arrears, just sting you with a fine right off the bat
I'm never going to Bristol again to spend my money. Absolute rip off merchants. Absolute Disgusting money grabbing pigs.
Hopeless Council Tax Payment system
Just tried to pay one off Council Tax. The online payment system didn't work because it asks for an Invoice Number which is not given on the bill and when I entered the Accout Number it was rejected. I then went to automated phone payments and the robot wouldn't accept the amount I had to pay which was correctly entered using a star between pounds and pence which is ridiculous.

These people continue to use harsh chemicals which is harming vulnerable people in council accommodation. They refuse to stop harming people even after they have been told they are harming people. They ignore people's human rights.

Touched the clean air zone for 200m ( didn't know) paid the £60 fine but apparently late another £139 later guess what Bristol I wont be coming again not even by train or to out of town. Council just money grabbing !!!
Clean Air Zone
I got a Clean Air Zone fine and I had no idea about it while visiting Bristol. Just look at all the other reviews and it's obvious the signage is not clear enough for visitors. Sure, you get £60 or even £120 out of people but they won't come back to Bristol.
Solution - The first offence should be a warning only.

After all the money spent on it the seating is quite basic and uncomfortable and no leg room!
Bristol council wasting our money
Bristol city council really know how to waste US TENANTS money. I live in harwood house bs5 and when I moved here the main reason was for the security, the block is gated and has CCTV and has camera intercom but for the last two years the gates have been broken the intercom and the button and entry panel keeps breaking down to the point where sometimes my entry dongle doesn't work so I can't get in, the thing is that we pay for all these services at £68 per month.i was horrified the day when the council put a notice up saying they are fitting TEMPORARY alarms in the flats even though we have them already and they all work, the amount of money that is going to cost is a ridiculous, they're not repairing the stuff that's important and paying private firms to fit devices that we have already only on a temporary basis! So that means these private firms have to come back,I worked it out that it will cost over £300 per flat! 14 floors with 6 flats per floor, also I am a vulnerable adult with severe mental issues and now I feel so unsafe as they're not repairing the things we pay WHERES OUR MONEY GOING you are breaching our tenancy agreements Bristol council
Destroying a once good city.
This council used to be interested in this city now they're just gangsters charging people for whatever they can and driving the city into the dirt. £26m raised by their CAZ mafia.
Lived here my whole life but now planning to leave this rundown place.
Destroy the people's health in hospital
The Communities and Public Health department of the Bristol city council stated:
Vaping in a Hospital ward surrended by patients and hospitals staff is not a health and safety issue! This is a very unique and extremely harmful view from the Bristol city council.
Let the patients and hospital staff to inhale carcinogenic substances, is perfectly acceptable by the
Environmental Health and safety officer. Well done. Seems like their aim is to destroy vulnerable patients and the workers health.

I'm not really sure where to start & I doubt very much that il get a response or anything will change but I can’t be the only person in Bristol who feels this way. Bristol was once voted one of the best place to live in the UK but I can’t help but feel our city is rapidly declining due to the bad management from the council & our local politicians. The traffic system is an absolute joke & trying to navigate during normal working hours is a nightmare plus the added annoyance of badly managed road works & the poor state of our roads (pot holes) on a day to day basis. The traffic creates long waiting times with cars sat burning fuel, I'm not a scientist but I'm sure that's not great for the "clean air zone". Yet another major issue where people are being wrongly fined, please tell me where is the millions of pounds being spent from CAZ Bristol Council? The alternative? Our "amazing" public transport well you’ll be waiting a while for the bus or train & if you're lucky enough to get on, it will cost you a fortune. You could however ride around like a nutter on one of those e-scooters yet another genius idea from our council...a woman who was left with serious injuries from e-scooters doesn't think so! This brings me onto parking, if you can find a space well you might as well take out a small mortgage, especially if you need to visit a loved one in hospital. Bins & recycling "if" they turn up your street will most likely be littered with rubbish & they like throwing around the recycling containers which regularly break but guess what...we are now being charged to replace these WHY!? should I pay for something a bin person has broken from being purely lazy and arrogant. Surely the cost should be covered within the substantial council tax bill I pay each year which by the way is increasing by 4.99% (THE MAX) this probably wouldn't be such a bitter pill to swallow "IF" our city was being run properly & the extra income would be spent on much needed improvements. Allot of our parks & other public areas are in need of refurbishment & new facilities such as toilets. What about the small business owners who for example sell coffee in our parks being hit with a charge of 15% of their turnover, you might as well bankrupt them now. Crime has seemingly gone through the roof with the several tragic stabbings having recently occurred, where are the police? I do not see them patrolling anymore, we seem to take a reactive approach & not a preventative one. I have no doubt that a police presence would help deter some crimes from happening & also give the public faith back in the service & perhaps rebuild the relationship they once had many years ago. Some of our schools & residential council buildings are unsafe, residents treated very poorly. Barton House has left people mentally, physically & financially damaged. This is just one example I'm sure many more cover ups are happening behind closed doors. Marvin Rees our illustrious mayor, well I literally can’t name one thing he has done other than take £80k+ a year of our tax payer money & for some reason he is still our mayor despite the fact we voted NO, still hanging around to fill his wallet with the last dregs of his ill-deserved wages! The council has spent almost 3 million in the year 22/23 on redundancies, a pay-out averaging £27k per person! The planning department has lost almost one third of its staff & there are severe backlogs, this affects charities, students, local business, homeowners etc. Our city centre is a disgrace, filthy, graffiti, litter, a huge problem with homeless people everywhere with seemingly no help and lack of affordable housing. Half of the shops are empty with businesses closed down & sky high business rates. I could go on & on…Bristol Council is anything functioning properly!? This is a real issue from the management & politicians who are motivated by one thing (LINING THEIR POCKETS WITH OUR MONEY) I do also feel very sorry for probably some hardworking council staff members who are being “managed” by these incompetent Id**ts.
DID YOU KNOW (ESPECIALLY BRISTOLIANS) …
DID YOU KNOW (ESPECIALLY BRISTOLIANS) OUR WONDERFUL BRISTOL CITY COUNCIL SPENT 2 MILLION POUNDS OF BRISTOLIANS MONEY ON REDUNDANCIES? LAST YEAR. AND THEY ARE GOING BUST? WHY THESE INCOMPETENTS ARE STILL IN THEIR COLLEGE GREEN “IVORY TOWER” IS BEYOND COMPREHENSION!!! WITH THE SACKED LORD MAYOR (what an unfunny joke) STILL HANGING AROUND TO GET THE LAST DREGS OF ILLDESERVED WAGES HE CAN, THE WASTE OF TIME PUPPET HAS DONE NOTHING! AGAIN PAID FOR BY BRISTOLIANS!!!! I HOPE HE IS ASHAMED OF HIMSELF EBIKES AND ESCOOTERS AND ALL. JUST PICK UP THE MONEY (BRISTOLIANS MONEY) AND RUN. JUST LIKE THE REST OF THE BRISTOL CITY COUNCIL. SICKENING. Anthony
Mingin’ Bristol
Was looking forward to visiting this city but what a disappointment. Dirty, rubbish everywhere and graffiti all over the place. The harbour side was a real let down, such potential but mingin’. For such an affluent area, where does all the money go? Starting to wonder if I may have needed jabs. Poor residents.
Can’t believe how dirty Bristol is
Can’t believe how dirty Bristol is. Waste everywhere. Seems so uncared for. Feel so sorry for the residents. Such an expensive place to live but filthy. Shameful.

Brought a car and drove it home 6 weeks later a CAZ Fine comes through my door, no warning about the charge no toll to pay roadside yet I'm fined for not knowing anything about it, bristol has always been a dump and now Its confirmed. I do about 2,000 miles a year in a car yet people who drive all year round don't get extra charges this goverment, the councils, all treat criminals and asylum seekers with more respect than the people who live here. I'll sell the car now cause its pointless driving in a country where the residents get screwed at every corner.
Fascinating how badly a council can be…
Fascinating how badly a council can be run.
Atrocious council tax management, disgusting road camera tactics, terrible waste collection. Parking policy (permits required 9am-9pm). Compounded by expensive council tax (+£2k for a two-bedroom flat).

The "clean air" zone is a blatant ripoff pure and simple. The whole place is covered in graffiti and looks like it needs a good clean. After reading about the city we thought it was worth a visit. Sadly we were wrong. As a family we will never go back. Personally, I thought it was a dump.
