About Browne Trading Company
Browne Trading Company is the premier supplier of fine caviar, fresh seafood, shellfish, and smoked seafood to both Michelin restaurants and home kitchens across the U.S.
Our Goal
From sourcing to packing to shipping, we pride ourselves on having the highest quality seafood, caviar, and smoked fish that is traceable and transparent, ensuring our customers that they are receiving authentically fresh seafood when it comes to species, origin, and ingredients.
When it comes to fresh fish, Browne Trading has the best. Given that Browne pays a premium to top fishermen and distributors, we ensure our Michelin chefs and home gourmands alike receive the freshest fish, shellfish, and ethically sourced seafood. We source local Maine favorites like uni, bluefin tuna, oysters, and fresh lobster meat. From afar, we carry coveted carabinero prawns, wild Portuguese specialties, and sustainably farmed Veta la Palma fish.
Browne Trading proudly crafts small-batch smoked seafood at our Portland location. Our boutique smoke house cures, brines, smokes, slices, and packages our smoked salmon, scallops, sturgeon, and more using a cold smoke method.
When it comes to caviar, Browne Trading is the only company in the US that co-brands with caviar partner farms. We work closely with sturgeon farms in Belgium, Italy, Israel, China, and the U.S.A. to ensure transparent sourcing and the highest quality.

Ist order, absolutely incredible. Even the experience of opening and unpacking the cod, sea trout and smoked haddock was a treat. Over the moon the with our purchase. Thank you so much, we had fish pie last night. The flavour and quality is exceptional. Will be spreading the word to all our friends. We will also be recycling the boxes you use as planters. Couldn't be more happy.

Thanks for being so flexible, Jay! We really want everyone's orders to get there for the holidays so glad it all worked out. Happy New Year!
Great experience for those with little caviar experience
They provide excellent guidance and information via their web site. Even though I had not ordered for 3 years (reflection on my sparse caviar habits, not them), they were able to tell me quickly by chat what I had ordered previously. The product was delivered in a clearly specified window, well packaged, and excellent quality. I am not a caviar connoisseur whatsoever, but to their credit, I didn’t feel as if I needed to be.
