This was my first time ordering from BW Aquatics and my first time ordering a fish online; overall I was really impressed with their service! I originally placed an order for an alien betta but I was informed that they were no longer available- no problem! I was offered a choice for a replacement fish for no additional cost. I ended up choosing a betta imbellis. I recieved the fish here in New York City and he was alive and healthy! After a few hours of acclimating and settling into the 5 gallon blackwater tank I had set up, he was already showing vivid colors. This is my first time purchasing a wild type betta after years of buying from pet shops and I'm never going back!

When I purchased the bettas, the temperature in my area was too high for safe shipment. I contacted BW and they were quick to respond and hold the bettas until the temperature was more reasonable for shipping. Later, when I received the bettas, they were not in the best shape, but they recovered and are doing well now. I would recommend BW to others, and I will also purchase more from BW. I also like the details about each betta species that are on the website including the endangered status. Keep up the good work and stay authentic. I think your continued success will depend on being authentic about the fish you sell and not become like every other betta seller selling what i call "candy colors" of lots of low quality generic bettas.

Fish is coloring up beautifully and arrived healthy, safe and happy. Took maybe a week to get him used to pellets in addition to live. I think he ate all my shrimp so he definitely want going hungry!

I am impressed with the selection and web interface at BW Aquatics, and the streamlined purchasing experience. My only caveat was that with next day shipping, there wasn't much warning of when fish would arrive, once packed and ready. That just made it a little tough to make sure I was around to receive the animals. The fish I received were in good health and beautiful. A great resource for hobbyists! Overall, a good experience and would recommend for others.
