This was my second cake from Cake Box, the first was a vegan vanilla butter cream. It was OK but not 'cake shop' standard, it tasted no better than my home baked cakes and definitely was not worth the cost. I then thought I'd give them another go as I needed a vegan cake quickly and didn't have the time to bake. I ordered the vegan speculoos cake. Everything was wrong with it, I was so disappointed. I received a message that it was ready for collection, I went to collect it an hour later and still waited 45 minutes in the shop. The writing on it had obviously been hastily done, was crooked, some letters illegible and just sub par for a £40 cake! The cake itself was so dry and the Biscoff biscuits on top had obviously been on the cake overnight as they were soggy, leaching into the buttercream and also placed with zero effort. The cake wasn't even placed in the middle of the cake board! The cake was for a friend's baby shower and I was really embarrassed taking it. I'd love to add a photo but it isn't a cake I want to remember. I definitely won't be back.

The sponge on this cake was hard like stake cake. I microwaved a slice for around 15-20 seconds and it tasted so much better as the sponge had become light and fluffy like the usual cakes I have previously ordered. I was looking forward to this cake but was hugely disappointed.
