It started back in 2019, right here in Amsterdam. Just three friends, a few drinks, and a conversation that kept circling back to watches. We were tired of the smart-watch hustle and the mass-market status symbols. We realized we all loved the same thing: the mechanical ticking of a watch in a city that never stops buzzing. We built Calgari because we love the energy of this city, but we wanted a watch that felt like a secret handshake for people who know that true luxury is having the confidence to disconnect.

Prachtig product met fijne service
Ik heb de Pierre Morlet een jaar geleden gekocht en vind het nog steeds een prachtig horloge, precies de stijl die ik zocht en mooi vind.
De bestelling heb ik eerder gedaan tijdens de drukke feestdagen en de levering duurde toen langer waardoor ik bang was dat het verkeerd zou gaan. Contact met ze opgenomen en kreeg meteen antwoord om me geen zorgen te maken en dat het goed zou komen, wat ook zo was. Deze week nog eens kort contact met ze gehad over mijn bandje en ook dat contact liep super makkelijk en snel.

Took my money and ran
First time I’ve ever written a bad review but felt compelled to do so - it’s been over 2 months since purchase (that I tried to cancel the day after) and I’ve still not had my refund.
I’ve been patient with them when they said they couldn’t cancel the order (despite by law there being a 14 day cooling off period that they ignored) and went through with the delivery with the intention of just sending it straight back.
I was then informed by their courier company that there were customs charges of nearly £100 that they’d passed on to the customer and don’t notify you of in advance.
At this point, I asked for the watch to be returned and my money refunded. Since then, I’ve heard nothing which was 3 weeks ago.
As things currently stand, they have £400 of mine and the watch and I’ve not heard back from them on the refund. I’ve got proof it’s been delivered back to them.
As things stand, I’ve had to contest the payment with my bank and gave Calgari fair warning before writing this to hopefully coax a response. Still nothing back, so here we are.
Don’t buy from this brand - my experience so far is that they’ve taken my money and ran.
There are Load of other similar brands with far better products, prices and service to buy from like AV86, who do nicer vintage style watches for almost half the price, with no hidden customs fees.

We are truly sorry for this. We’ve had extensive conversations with you directly, and we also want to share our perspective publicly because we never took your money and have fully refunded you.
When you were informed by customs about UK import costs (which we mention on our website for our UK customers), you contacted them directly to return the watch. Unfortunately, because the return went through customs independently, it was held there for an extended period before being sent back to us. We only received the watch on September 2nd, and as part of our standard process, we first inspect returned items to ensure they’re undamaged. Once received, we immediately expedited the refund and transferred your funds on September 7th.
We understand how frustrating this delay must have been, and we take full responsibility for the inconvenience. We’ve since spoken with both our fulfilment partner and customs to avoid similar issues in the future, and we’re reviewing our policy for these rare edge cases to ensure customers receive refunds sooner if returns get stuck in transit.
We also recognise that our communication about import fees needs to be even clearer, and we’re already working to make this information more visible during checkout.
We’re a team of friends from Amsterdam building our watch brand Calgari from scratch, and we are constantly learning and improving as we grow our company. Your feedback helps us refine our logistics and customer experience, and we truly appreciate your patience and honesty throughout this situation.

Habe vor kurzem eine Caligari Watch…
Habe vor kurzem eine Caligari Watch gekauft, leider funktionierte der Chronograph nicht. Der Shop hat mir eine Retoure und einen entsprechenden Umtausch angeboten, obwohl ich die Uhr schon im Gebrauch habe. Das ist ein sehr guter Service und bedanke mich für dieses Entgegenkommen. Wir haben jetzt eine gute Lösung gefunden. Empfehle den Shop sehr gerne
weiter. Danke dafür.

Die Uhr ist schön
Die Uhr ist schön, aber auf der Homepage war kein Hinweis, dass es sich um eine batteriebetriebene Uhr handelt. Auch funktioniert der Chronograph nicht korrekt. Dafür war die Uhr zu teuer, schade.
