We are delighted to have chosen this agency to rent our campervan for our road trip in Iceland.

The ease of booking, the quality of our file handling, the information received before our departure, the responsiveness of the staff in answering our questions, the on-site reception (a person was waiting for us with a sign as soon as we left the airport), a welcoming and friendly team, and the professionalism of each and every one were highly appreciated. The 24/7 assistance was also reassuring. Everything went smoothly from start to finish.

Furthermore, our campervan was fantastic. It was the first time my husband and I had traveled this way, and we are delighted.

The Doblo was a very recent model with an automatic transmission, very clean, well-equipped, and functional. The mattress was very comfortable and the sleeping bag was very warm.

Returning the vehicle was also very easy, and it was very nice to have a shuttle to take us back to the airport, no matter what time of day or night.

We will recommend Campervan Iceland to all our contacts and will book with you again if we return to Iceland.

Allettato dal prezzo ho prenotato un camper Fun per 9 giorni a 1187 €.
Un paio di giorni prima mi è venuto il dubbio della caparra. Di solito costa 700-800€. Qui non era segnata da nessuna parte, ne sulla conferma d'ordine ne sul sito. Ho scritto e mi hanno detto che era di circa 3200 EURO!!!! E pagabile solo con carta di credito! Come il 90% delle carte la mia arriva a 1.500€. Ho chiesto l'aumento ma ci volevano 15 giorni minimo di istruttoria. L'alternativa? Acquistare l'assicurazione plus con altri 320€. Direi una bella fregatura! Ho detto che nel contratto non era scritto ma non ne hanno voluto sapere!

Veniamo al furgone. Si appoggiavano alla compagnia Rent.is.
Tra le altre cose doveva avere:
· Lavandino con acqua corrente. Il lavandino era una tanica da 20l, non il mobiletto da cucina mostrato in foto.
· Frigorifero. C'era un frigo a pozzetto messo in orizzontale con 2 scomparti, la roba messa in quello sopra alla prima curva cadeva tutta sopra quella sotto, un disastro.
· Batteria extra (caricabile ad energia solare). C'era la batteria (quasi scarica) ma nessun pannello
· Buono sconto carburante per distributori N1. Mai ricevuto.
· Sistema di riscaldamento per la zona letto. C'era una specie di webasto, con un impianto elettrico molto "casalingo" a norma CE (China Export) e quando partiva per 10 secondi riempiva l'abitacolo di gas di scarico costringendoci ad aprire il portellone per arieggiare. Era inutilizzabile di notte per mantenere la temperatura in quanto si accendeva ogni tot gradi persi e a ogni accensione ci avrebbe intossicato. Dove disponibile abbiamo dovuto allacciarci alla corrente del campeggio pagando il surplus e usando la stufetta elettrica portatile presente nel furgone. Inoltre la coibentazione era inesistente, 2 pannellini di legno a coprire la finta finestra e basta, dormi attaccato alla lamiera con conseguente ponte termico che ti faceva congelare. Dormivamo col piumino, pantaloni doppi da sci alpinismo e sacco a pelo e avevamo freddo lo stesso. Ho un furgone con tetto a soffietto e webasto, quindi so di cosa parlo e sono abituato a dormire sotto zero, ma non ho mai avuto così freddo!
Ho scritto un'email al sito ma non hanno nemmeno risposto.
Non voglio fare l'italiano lamenteloso, ma per il prezzo pagato direi che mi aspettavo qualcosa di meglio.

Avete risposto che sul sito non c'è scritto del lavandino,
Sul sito italiano noleggiocamperislanda.it che è la vostra pagina per il mio paese, da dove ho prenotato, nei modelli camper fun è scritto chiarissimo e c'è anche la foto. Ho fatto anche lo screenshot e della caparra così alta non è scritto da nessuna parte, ho appena ricontrollato.

Aggiornamento 2:
Alla fine il servizio assistenza è stato molto cordiale, hanno capito che il problema era del sito italiano che non era aggiornato e mi hanno fatto il rimborso quasi completo della somma aggiuntiva che ho dovuto pagare per l'assicurazione plus e hanno detto che provvederanno ad aggiornarlo.
Quindi cambio la valutazione in positivo.
Non metto 5 stelle per il furgone, soprattutto per la questione dei gas di scarico ch entravano nell'abitacolo.

We booked through the danish department campervanisland.dk and everything seemed fine, but the staff communicated in English, så it wasn’t really a danish website after all. The pickup in the airport was really poor, with a very small sign and the guy wasn’t interested in the turist. When we arrived to get the car it was through another company rent.is, and the staff was very arrogant and unfriendly and seemed annoyed that we were there. They had a car ready for us, but when they discovered that we had paid for full insurance they asked us to wait and then replaced the car with the worst junk of an old worn out car. When we returned the staff was still arrogant and didn’t care at all about giving a smile or a proper service

Fue todo genial desde el minuto 1. Me contestaron a todos mil mails de dudas y de forma precisa y muy rápido. La motorhome está perfecta el precio fue de lo que mejor encontramos. Nada malo que decir la verdad, muy contentos . Además tienen descuentos para muchas actividades/excursiónes que nos pudimos aprovechar.

We rented a van for 4 adults and a 19 month old for 9 nights. It was a fairly smooth pick up and drop off. The van was clean and drove well. I loved the windows and beds were comfortable. Van was warm. We had an issue with seat slide but they met us on the road and fixed! Also didn’t realize fridge is tied somehow to second battery so it didn’t work on our trip. I’m still confused about how that works. Employees were very helpful. I wish they could work with all of the parking areas to include cost of parking (without an up charge) into the rental costs. Paying each time eith different apps is a worry and stupid.

Wir hatten für 2,5 Wochenen einen Minicamper im September.
Die Abholung am Flughafen hat gut funktioniert, die Formalien am Schalter waren leicht verständlich und die Übernahme des Fahrzeugs war ebenfalls einfach. Alle Geräte und Ausrüstung wurde kurz erklärt. Das Fahrzeug wurde sauber und vollgetankt übergeben.
Während unserer Reise hatten wir drei kleinere Probleme mit dem Fahrzeug. Der Telefonservice war immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Hinweis, dass ein Ölwechsel gemacht werden soll, durften wir ignorieren. Einen kaputten Reifen konnten wir durch den Ersatzreifen tauschen und in der nächsten Werkstatt haben wir einen neuen gekauft und die Kosten wurden uns bei Rückgabe des Fahrzeugs sofort wieder erstattet. Einmal ist das Fahrzeug nicht angesprungen und auch da hat uns der Service weiter geholfen.
Wir waren mit dem Fahrzeug und dem Service sehr zufrieden und können Campervan Iceland jedem empfehlen, der eine Rundreise macht. Danke!

Best choice to travel! I got in the airport in the middle of night and had someone waiting for us with a sinal and shuttled to the office. Arrived there had a line to get the car, that spend some time but it’s because everyone arrived in the same flight.
The car was equipped with everything necessary and all looked like clean.
The heat works perfectly, and warm fast. It’s very important considering the cold in Iceland.
No problem with the car working and to return was very fast.
I recommend their service.

We were promptly shuttled from the airport to the pickup location. Our van was very clean and exactly as advertised. We lost Internet connection midway thru our trip and the office quickly solved the issue. We were totally satisfied with the van and company, we highly recommend them for an excellent Iceland camping vacation

Campervan Iceland was a very easy company to work with. It was easy to select a mobile home and book. Vehicles were well described on their site. Staff was very responsive to questions. When we picked up the van it was clean, well supplied and the staff took time to share its features and full functionality.

Campervan Iceland was great from start to finish. Their RV rental included lots of amenities that other companies charge extra for. I had several questions prior to booking and they were very prompt in replying to me. After booking, the information that they sent was very helpful. The instructions for picking up the RV were easy to follow and the pick up was quick and easy. The RV was clean and stocked with the items indicated on the listing. Returning the RV was also quick and easy.

TLDR: We were given an electrical hookup cord that did not work without duct tape and was missing an adapter to hookup to the campsites, This interrupted our first 1-2 days and the only help they provided was to recommend to go to gas stations or ask camp sites for new cord/adapter. We found the customer service lacking and they seemed to be fine with us figuring out Iceland hardware stores on our own. Otherwise van was great.

Long version:

We arrived to pickup our van without issue and received our very nice Mercedes Marco Polo. Van was clean and in good shape. We then travelled to the nearby National park (around 45 min from Reykjavik) for our first night. The Marco Polo has a single normal outlet that works only when the van is hooked up to a campsite electrical hookup, not a problem as we assumed our provided cord would allow this. For context I sleep with a CPAP so I require a functioning outlet for a good nights sleep.

After arriving to the campsite and attempting to hookup we noticed that the end of the cord was a normal EU male plug and not one that fit in the campsite hookup. We quickly realized we were missing an adapter and it was later then any stores are open. We contacted Campervan Iceland at the provided whatsapp and they just told us to go to campsite or gas station and they should sell said adapter and that they would reimburse the cost. After a poor nights sleep we complete our planned adventures while asking around at any campsites or gas stations with no success. A kind park ranger advised us to stop at a Byko in Selfoss (large hardware store) as they would have an adapter like this. After a couple hours hiking and worrying about this we make it to Selfoss and purchase an adapter. We make it to Vik for our second night, Vik is about 2-2.5 hours from Reykjavik.

At the Vik campsite we went to setup with our new adapter. The cord hooked up properly, and low and behold the van is still not connected to electricity. At this point we were very stressed as we thought we had fixed the issue. I contacted the company again and they wanted to check that we had plugged in the cord correctly etc. In a stroke of luck my wife was messing with the plug into the car and I noticed that her phone started charging briefly (we had plugged in a phone to charge as a test if it was working). After some testing with the cord itself we figured out that it was fraying as old cords do at the plug and if held correctly it would work. I informed the company of this and again they told me to go to a gas station or camp site and buy a whole new cord. The local stores were already closing in Vik by the time we got there but at the gas station we found duct tape but not a cord. Thankfully duct tape was able to secure the cord in a way that connected the electricity. This duct tape allowed to continue our trip as planned without backtracking again to Selfoss to the hardware store.

The company offered no other sympathies or offers of support during this time besides the guarantee they would reimburse any cords/adapters purchased. This situation was incredibly inconvenient and set our week long adventure on a bad foot. I could not understand why when we were nearby Reykjavik they couldn't spare one person to bring us a new cord/adapter and fix the problem, but instead left us to figure it out. At the time of the initial issue we could've met halfway and it be a very reasonable commute to meet us. When returning the van I had the adapter and receipt to get my reimbursement and told this story. They did not seem to care or recognize the stress this caused at the beginning of a vacation that was not cheap in the slightest.

In conclusion, Campervan Iceland will get you a van as promised, but don't expect much help if anything goes wrong, even if it is their fault.

Ha sido una buena experiencia, tanto en la recogida del vehículo como durante el viaje. Limpia y bien equipada, pedimos unos equipos de cama para estar cómodos y no pasar frío, fue muy buena elección.
Todo lo necesario para poder pasar una semana de aventura en Islandia.
