My 6 year old cat got very unwell the past 6 weeks. He has been on chicken wet since a kitten. He had foul watery stools and clear vomit. 3 vet visits and nothing was wrong. I knew the wet food and smell was different as soooo much more water in container. I switched his wet food and within a few days he was back to normal. I really wished I read the reviews here before spending so much money on vet bills

Hi Amy, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re very sorry that your cat has been experiencing issues recently. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and we understand how concerning this must be for you.
We want to assure you that the quality and safety of our products are of the utmost importance to us. All our recipes undergo rigorous testing and all our recipes have been trialled on our own cats first before being sold to the public. We are aware however that in very rare cases some of our furry friends who are particularly sensitive can notice the natural variations between batches and we are very sorry that your cat hadn't been feeling his usual self. For the avoidance of any doubt our wet foods continue to be lovingly produced at the same location as they always have been since we launched them.
For extra reassurance, we are more than happy to arrange collection of some of the wet food that you have for testing to check that it is within specification. Please reach out to us on info@canagan.co.uk or 01494 775 222 so we can assist you further.
Best regards, Sandy
Never look back.
Our pup LOOOVES canagan.
She actually sticks her nose up to all other food. Either by not being interested or literally spitting it out.
We changed her to canagan at around 12 weeks old and she has never looked back.
They have so much selection and choice, she has tried them all. Including the insect dry food, every tinned food, and their treats range.
When she was younger people would buy her other brands of treats and they would play havoc with her stomach. With Canagan she has never had an issue.
As her owners we love that we understand the ingredients and know that she is getting the best we can get, including lots of known superfoods.
She is a very active dog and needs all the added goodness to keep her strong and healthy.

Has become too expensive at same quality
Cats love the food but the price has gone up from 1.40 to 2 euros per tin in 2 years time, while many tins don't even have 75g, we measure our food every day and it's often 73g.
Edit after canagan's reaction: it is a tasteless lie that they have not increased the price in the last 2 years. I have the invoices of all these months. For example, in 2021 all the online shops in the netherlands, the retail shops AND canagan themselves priced the tins at 1.49€. Nowadays 1.99€. So please, if you are gonna lie, then have the decency to prove it.

My cat is 4 and always ate Canagan Free Range Chicken. Since a few weeks, she started vomitting every night. Went to the vet, absolutely no issues. Couldn't find what was wrong. Until I checked the reviews online and in reddit ... many people having the same issues since Canagan changed the country of production.
I just switched my cat from Canagan to Edgard Cooper and she seems to get better every day.

Hi Jumo, thank you for taking the time to share your review with us and for your loyalty over the years. We’re truly sorry to hear the issues your cat has experienced recently.
We switched our manufacturer over a year ago to a lovely family run company and all our recipes have been trialled on our own dogs first before being sold to the public. For many of our pet parents, their dogs & cats continue to enjoy our food as they did before the switch, however we are aware that in very rare cases some of our furry friends who are particularly sensitive can notice the natural variations between batches and we are very sorry that your cat hasn't been feeling her usual self.

Hi Dimitri, thank you for taking the time to share your review with us. Here at Canagan, welfare always comes first when selecting our ingredients. We only use a dried peppermint ingredient within our recipes which is safe for cats and dogs to eat and is good for reducing bad breath due to its antibacterial properties and pleasantly strong odour. It is also approved by the Commission Regulation (EU) No 68/2013 of 16 January 2013 on the Catalogue of feed materials. This has been part of our recipe since we launched in 2012 and has been safely fed to millions of cats across the world since Canagan went on sale over a decade ago.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us on info@canagan.co.uk or 01494 775 222. Best wishes, Sandy

Excellent dog food
Excellent dog food, worth the price. Both my working dogs are on Canagan Chicken, the older collie coat now gleams and my younger cocker won’t eat anything else! Grain free so excellent for excitable dogs as it doesn’t go straight through them and out the other side when they are excited and keen to work.
The best dog food on the market by far!

I have two dogs
I have two dogs. A labrador and a German shepherd, my labrador is on Canagan senior light food as he’s trying to lose weight and he’s been great with it. My dogs are always so happy to dig in! Even my German Shepherd, who’s usually a bit picky, cleans his bowl every time. Within a few weeks, I have noticed my fur babies have shinier coats and more consistent energy levels during playtime. We recommend it 100%. Thanks Canagan

EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!
EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!
I discovered Canagan months ago, and since then I’ve had no doubts about the choice of food to give to my dog.
My dog was uninterested in any dog food I tried with him. I started using wet food, cheese and a lot of things, but nothing really worked.
When I tried Canagan, my dog came back to life…he rediscovered the taste and desire to eat.
The ingredients are of a very high quality, always respecting nature. They don’t contain unnecessary filler grains and are complete with everything our pets need.
Thanks to Canagan, my dog has improved in many ways: his coat, joints, digestion, breath, poop and he’s much more powerful!
It’s a product worth every euro spent. I strongly recommend it to everyone who wants to be more aware of and care for their pet’s needs, starting with a correct nutrition.

We use canagan wet pouches and we are so happy that they provide a complete and balanced diet as so many brands offer only complimentary meals when it’s just easier to get everything they need in one go! Our cat Bramble is a British blue and we like to make sure he’s of full health and has a nice shiny coat and there have been no complaints with the taste either!

5-Star Review for Canagan Dog Food
5-Star Review for Canagan Dog Food
We’ve been feeding our dog, Merlin, Canagan for the past few years and it’s been an absolute game changer! Merlin, a lively and energetic 3 year old working chocolate Labrador , has always been quite selective with his food, but he absolutely loves Canagan. His coat is shinier, his energy levels are consistent throughout the day, and he’s been more active than ever.
We trust Canagan because of their commitment to using high-quality, natural ingredients. The fact that the food is grain-free and packed with animal protein makes us feel good about what Merlin is eating. We also love that the brand emphasizes a balanced diet to support his overall health, including his joints, digestion, and skin. It’s reassuring to know that we’re giving him something that’s not only delicious but also nutritionally complete.
Since switching to Canagan, Merlin has become even more vibrant and playful. His stomach issues have improved, and there’s a noticeable difference in his coat’s condition. We’re so happy with this food and would recommend it to any pet parent who wants the best for their dog. Canagan has earned our trust, and we’ll definitely continue feeding it to Merlin for the long term.

One of the best products I had tried this year. My dog is in love with the turkey flavour and in less than a month his teeth whitened. It was an amazing discover! I truly recommend everyone who has a dog to try the brand Canagan.
