My name is Yaroslav, and I run my own construction business (Ukrstars Ltd). I wanted to share a detailed and honest review based on my experience with accountants over the years, because I know how important the right financial support is when you’re running a business.
First of all, a big thank you to my current accounting team for their patience with me. I like to understand everything properly and often ask a lot of detailed questions — probably more than most clients — but they’ve always taken the time to explain things clearly and professionally. That makes a huge difference when you’re responsible for a company.
When I started my business back in 2019, my experience with accountants unfortunately wasn’t great. One firm left me confused from the beginning and I often felt unsure whether things were being done correctly. That kind of uncertainty stays with you, especially when you’re trying to build a business properly and stay compliant.
Another accountant I worked with charged significant fees but in the end I felt I didn’t receive real value, and some important paperwork was misplaced, which caused additional stress. A third firm presented themselves as very professional, but I didn’t feel they really listened to what I wanted to achieve as a business owner. That situation ended up costing me financially, particularly around CIS and VAT, which was frustrating and honestly quite worrying at the time.
After those experiences, I decided to take control myself and started doing bookkeeping through Xero. I learned a lot and gained respect for how complex accounting really is, but as my construction projects grew, I realised it simply wasn’t sustainable. Running sites, managing clients, staff, materials and paperwork already takes full focus — trying to handle corporation tax, VAT compliance and self-assessment properly on top of that was just too much.
Eventually I found Capital Empire and connected with Ekaterina. Since then, my business life has genuinely become easier. What stands out most is clarity, reliability and transparency. VAT, CIS and payroll are handled correctly and on time, pricing is agreed upfront with no surprise charges, and I finally feel confident that my accounts are organised properly.
Another thing I really appreciate is that they actually listen. They don’t just process numbers — they understand business goals, explain options and help prevent problems before they happen. That proactive support is something I didn’t experience before.
Over the last couple of years, I’ve recommended them to several friends and colleagues in construction and other industries. Some were dealing with serious accounting difficulties, VAT issues or even considering closing their businesses. Seeing those situations stabilise after switching accountants has reinforced my trust in this team. Many of them have since thanked me for the referral, which says a lot.
I’m a straightforward person, and I don’t usually write long reviews unless I truly mean it. Running a construction business is demanding enough — having accountants you trust removes a huge layer of stress.

Help me get my tax return
I've used capital Empire basically because it was close to my home,they helped to sort out problems I was having with my tax return .the payroll company I was using didn't pay my tax,and I got a a tax bill capital Empire help me get all the evidence from my bank account and old pay slips to prove that I have been paying my tax.
Because of there help the tax bill got recalculated and I actually got a tax refund .
They were very helpful .easy to chat to .
Saved me money too.
