Disappointing
I really wanted to love my experience with Charlotte Mills because I’d saved for a long time to buy my wedding shoes. Spending £290 on a pair of bridal shoes felt like a special purchase, and I expected the level of service that comes with a luxury bridal brand.
I ordered the Katie Pearl shoes in a size 5, but instead received a completely different style in the wrong size. I emailed customer services multiple times and heard nothing back for quite a while. Eventually, I contacted the brand through Instagram, where I was put in touch with Alex. She explained that she hadn’t received a single one of my emails through the customer service inbox and ended up emailing me from a different email address because, apparently, the customer service email wasn’t receiving my messages.
By the time the issue was finally being resolved, I was told that the Katie Pearl shoes I’d originally ordered had actually sold out, despite my order having been accepted. As an alternative, I was sent the wide-fit version in a size 5, which was far too big. With my dress fitting only days away, another exchange was arranged and I eventually received the wide-fit version in a size 4. They fit well enough, but by that point I was simply grateful to have something I could wear in time for my wedding.
I also found it frustrating that it was only after my partner, who has around 55,000 followers on TikTok, contacted the brand that communication seemed to move forward. Whether that was a coincidence or not, that’s how it appeared from my perspective.
To be fair, once Alex became involved, she was kind, helpful and did everything she could to get a solution in place. She offered me a complimentary veil as a goodwill gesture, but I already had a veil, so I asked whether a partial refund would be possible instead. She said she would need to ask Charlotte, and the refund that was approved was £40.
While I appreciate receiving something, a £40 refund on a £290 purchase doesn’t feel proportionate considering I received the wrong shoes, experienced long delays in communication, found out the shoes I’d ordered were actually sold out, and ultimately had to settle for a different version because I was running out of time before my wedding.
What makes it even more disappointing is seeing Charlotte Mills regularly gifting shoes to influencers across social media. I completely understand that influencer marketing is part of modern business, but as someone who saved for months to buy these shoes myself, it was hard not to feel overlooked. Seeing gifted orders showcased while my paid order was sent incorrectly twice and became so difficult to resolve left me feeling that paying customers aren’t receiving the same level of care and attention.
The shoes are beautiful, and I genuinely appreciate Alex’s help once she became involved. Sadly, the overall experience fell well below what I’d expect from a luxury bridal brand, and that’s what I’ll remember most.

We completely understand how frustrating it is when you're waiting for a response, and I'm very sorry that we didn't provide the level of service you deserved.
As a small, family-run business, we were operating with a significantly reduced team during this period due to a family wedding alongside planned annual leave. Whilst we worked hard to ensure every bride's order was dispatched on time, it unfortunately had a knock-on effect on our email response times.

Ottlie mid height wedding shoes
I'm obsessed with the Ottlie mid height shoes. Delivered promptly and they are well worth the price. So comfortable and I can't wait to wear them for my wedding next year. The pictures on their website dont do them justice. Just stunning! I found them true to size ( ordered size 6).

Gorgeous quality, great communication

purchased my daughter’s wedding shoes from this company, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The customer service was outstanding, and my daughter is absolutely thrilled with her shoes. They are beautiful, well-made, and of excellent quality.
I needed some information regarding an early delivery, and the response was prompt, helpful, and very friendly. The entire process was smooth and stress-free. Overall, I am extremely happy with both the product and the service and would highly recommend them.

I purchased a gorgeous pair of…
I purchased a gorgeous pair of Charlotte Mills shoes for my wedding day, unfortunately the shoes were slightly too big and did not suit my feet shape. I emailed Charlotte Mills and the lovely Alex got back to me promptly with guidance on how to return.
Following this, I lost the return label and was in a panic wondering how I was going to return the shoes. I emailed Alex a second time, who again responded promptly with the return label attached to the email so I was able to print it off and get the shoes sent back.
I can’t fault Alex for their wonderful customer service and quick responses. They put me at ease throughout the whole process and were just lovely to deal with!

My experience with Charlotte Mills has so far been spectacular. The shoes are some of the most comfortable heels I have ever tried on, they also fit greatly with my wedding dress. The customer service was genuinely better than known designer brands (that I also tried and decided against in favor of these shoes). I cannot recommend them enough to any bride.

This is by far the best customer service I have ever experienced. I fell in love with their shoes online, but living in Australia I was nervous about how exchanging a size would go! Alex has been so incredibly helpful with getting me get the right size. Answering all my questions and even helping me to size down again after I sent a photo of the shoe still too big! The quality of the shoes are incredible and so well made. Highly recommend, they reduced so much stress while planning everything else for the wedding.
