The sales process was efficient as I went into the store to see the sliding doors. Fitters were very pleasant, polite and tidy. We had a problem with a very stiff lock but this was sorted quickly. Admin side very sharp.

Visited Banbury showroom & received excellent technical help & guidance. The team really understood our requirements & steered us to the most suitable windows for our application.
Unlike other Company’s we visited who we felt quoted us for the most expensive & not the best suitability.
We had a first class experience from initial quotation through to installation, excellent fitters & wonderful after support.

Cherwell fitted two new windows at our property. The whole process was very simple, transparent and well organised. The new windows look great and I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone. We will be using them again soon.

We visited the Banbury showroom to help us to choose the most suitable windows for our property. The staff were helpful and knowledgable. The Cherwell team supported us to design our windows and carry out the survey prior to installation. Communication regarding the production of the windows was good. We are extremely pleased with our new windows and their installation. One small glitch in the clearing of the site was quickly resolved. We would highly recommend Cherwell windows.

Cherwell designed and installed a replacement roof lantern that had failed. It was a difficult location with awkward details that needed Specilist knowledge. Cherwell surveyed the site, drew up detailed technical plans, manufactured the units and installed the units over 4 days. I cannot fault their work which was excellent. The job was well executed with follow up visits to check that all was satisfactory. Very impressed with the attention to detail. Thank you for a great job. Highly recomended company who care about their customers…

Great experience with everyone at Cherwell windows. From the help in choosing the right windows for our cotswold cottage (and budget!) to great advice on the large glass sliding doors in our new extension - they have been nothing but professional, helpful and friendly. The windows are in and we couldn't be happier with them. Now excited to see the finished extension with new sliding doors.

We used the Banbury office to purchase Internorm triple glazed sliding doors for a garden room.
Everything from the sale to the fitting and completion was good. We had no need of after sales service, so cannot commen on that, but to date (10 months on), the sliding windows are working well and enhance the property.

I had an excelent experience with Cherwell Windows from start to finish. I was fortunate to meet the owner, Ryan, who personally oversaw my installation — something you don’t see every day. His attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction were clear throughout the process.
The entire team was professional, courteous, and efficient. Their follow-up service was just as impressive as the initial install. The quality of the windows and doors is exceptional, and the advice I received along the way made me feel completely assured in my choices.

I am a long-standing customer of Chadwell Windows. I had an extensive installation many years ago and have received really good after-care service from the team to amend minor changes to door hinges and locks, which, over time, require servicing.

We had windows installed 5 years ago. One had failed. Cherwell agreed to replace under guarantee, ordered a new window (non-standard size), and the fitting was expeditious and speedy. Excellent service.

We got heritage french doors from Cherwell and the service was brilliant from start to finish. The quality of the doors is the best we've seen and we wouldnt go anywhere else

Sales staff and the showrooms are what keeps this business going.
They have great suppliers Origin/Aluco and Cortizo etc… who provide great products but the process between choosing what you want and having them installed without snags/ issues would be easier with other approved window companies - there are plenty in the area.
The installers are respectful and good at what they do.
Like others have said - I advise you view the products in Cherwell’s showrooms and then go elsewhere to order. Resist the sales team as you do not deal with them for a majority of your experience.
The ordering processors (scheduling assistant, design etc…) all communicate via email and this is not their strength. A signal of expertise is how well you are able to make something complex, simpler - Cherwell are not experts.
Perhaps a small order of a window replacement or a straightforward patio door is within their capabilities but anything larger than that is out of their realm. See the trend in other reviews to confirm.
The company’s ethos/value/belief is unclear but it is not about providing a useful service.
When dealing with issues that arise, it’s as if the office team have read a conflict resolution textbook and chosen avoidance/competition as their approach. Again, see other low reviews on TrustPilot and Google to see the trend.
The company lacks diversity in their staff and perhaps customers that reflect the staff demographic have a fairer experience.
The company is spearheaded by Wayne, who has recently taken over his father’s business and is quite comfortable in taking your money and providing a sub-par service.

Showroom experience - excellent
Sales experience - excellent
Fitting experience - a bit rough but in the main ok.
After sales - no stars, absolutely awful. As mentioned in other reviews, the CEO, Wayne McAndrew-Uren, is rude and offensive.
I'd go to the showroom, get the advice, and pick the windows - then for the love of God, go somewhere else to get them fitted.
We had £100k worth of windows from them - they broke a handful of fittings which would have taken a couple of hours to fix- they promised to do it, but after periods of aggression and silence from them it ultimately took 3 years and legal action to get them to put it right.
AVOID.

The ordering was fine and priced competitively but not that much in it really.
As a developer, I spend a great deal on fenestrations and must say the after service is shocking. I spent nearly 20k on this order and a seal was missing at the point of installation but Malcolm was nowhere to be found then, 'leave it with me' he said. Well its a good job my fitter had one from another job as they are rationel specific, otherwise I'd still be waiting for Malcolm to pull his head out of the sand!
Indeed, I have since asked a simple question on self closer suitability and the answer was 'just fit a normal self closer' which is completely ignorant of self closer requirements. You'd think a company like this might be able to offer more support than that. Indeed, they can't even tell me the weight of the doors and now Malcolm is ignoring my emails.
Far better after service from my previous supplier but sadly they no longer supply Rationel.
The process was odd though efficient. I love my doors. Fitters excellent - very personable and friendly. But one thing I really like in companies is the sense they really value me as a customer. Both sales and after sales personnel made me feel like I was something to be ticked off on a spread sheet or just a sales opportunity. Often cursory and somewhat demanding (they would book in appointments to suit them and then sound surprised I couldn’t do it) If I were HR in this company I would train people to warm up a bit and remember customer is king or queen. And just slow down a bit. Spending time with customers on the phone, or in person, makes for a better sales experience.
