Superb company and superb products.

I'm surprised at anyone finding the ChickenGuard "unreliable" - I've had one for many years and it has been excellent. I can count the failures over half a dozen years on the fingers of one hand, and they have almost all been me not spotting that it wanted new batteries after maybe 6 moths or more of use.

Moreover the support and service from the company has been exemplary. Rare to find one that produces good products and treats customers as intelligent adults.

I've been trying out the latest remote controlled system, and both the hardware and software implementation are excellent. Their design team deserve several plaudits - and as someone versed in electronics, I don't hand those out lightly.

Unreliable

Been through 2 sets of batteries in 2 months. Apparently if there is an error message the screen stays lit and drains the batteries. Installed on a flat wall so no reason for error - might be chickens getting in the way apparently. Was offered a replacement the first time it went wrong but managed to get it going again so decided to persist. The second time the offer was rescinded unless i sent the unit back for testing. Working again after more new batteries but unreliable to the point you have to check am/pm to make sure its open / closed or an error message which defeats the object!!

I notice a returns label for UPS to pick the item up from you was e mailed to yourself so that our engineer could test and investigate the issues with your item. As explained, any faulty parts will have been replaced under the warranty.

No Longevity

When I bought these things, I thought they were absolutely brilliant. But no more. One has a weak motor and cant lift the door. The other, the mechanism in the safety door is jammed. You can nolonger rely on this to keep the chickens safe or open in the morning. Total and utter waste of time. £361.98 spent ! I was dealing with a real person by email and now everything seems to be done with a totally useless AI bot. Check out the many other options on the market.

Fijn luik en indien problemen superfijne helpdesk

Ik heb dit kippenluik al enkele jaren. Heel handig, je hoeft nu niet meer vroeg op om de kippen naar buiten te laten en 's avonds gaat het automatisch dicht en zitten ze veilig binnen, beschermd tegen roofdieren.

Af en toe heb ik problemen met de werking ervan maar de helpdesk reageert altijd, of het nu avond of weekend is. En tot nu toe zijn de problemen altijd weer door hun hulp opgelost.

Als het luik niet meer werkt zou ik meteen een nieuwe kopen.

Dood support resolved and replaced defective unit

The door motor failed after 7 months, and after spending an hour troubleshooting using their FAQ to get the unit working, I contacted customer support. After confirming the issue, they sent us a new model to replace the unit with.

Bad experience - cancelled order as they hadn’t progressed it after 4 business days

Ordered the Chicken Guard All in one which the Australian website said would be shipped within 2 business days. still hadn’t shipped after that time so I contacted customer support which initially had me dealing with a bot before sending my query on to someone who appears to be in the UK. They sent me shipping details that showed the order hadn’t been processed, which I already knew and did not address my concerns - as if they hadn’t even read them. When I followed up asking what was going on I was chided for being impatient and told they are busy and state that they may take up to 24hrs to respond. No local phone number to contact. Eventually they sent an email to their Australian team who never responded. Ended up having to cancel the order and get a refund. Shame since it looks like a great product but just doesn’t seem to me to support the Australian market well. They have a system in place which makes it difficult to contact anyone and makes the turn around time slow. Add to this a delivery time of up to 10 days to regional areas and they are really behind the curve on the level of responsiveness that I expect from an online company.

Vos heeft na 1 maand deur al gesloopt

Een maand geleden hebben we een deur met zelfvergrendelingsmechanisme aangeschaft. De deur vergrendelt goed, alleen het plastic palletje in de deur waarmee de deur automatisch open gaat is nu al door een vos losgetrokken. Niet erg stevig dus. Dit bij Chickengard aangegeven en gezegd dat de deur niet aan de verwachtingen voldoet. De enige reactie is dat dit niet onder de garantie valt en 20% korting bij de volgende aanschaf. Totaal niet klantvriendelijk dus.

Helaas, zoals bevestigd, was dit geen fout van ons product, maar te wijten aan een externe bron en als zodanig viel dit niet onder de garantie. Ik zie echter dat er ook een korting van 20% is aangeboden.

La programmation est aléatoire

La programmation est aléatoire, et le fonctionnement laisse à désirer, beaucoup d'amélioration à apporter surtout dans la simplification du programme. J'ai perdu beaucoup de temps, On ne peut hélas pas faire confiance à ce produit .

The locking spring arms jammed

The locking spring arms jammed. After some conversation, a new door was supplied. This worked for a while then the arms jammed solid and left the door open. Fox Vs chickens - no contest. An absolute massacre.

Good auto door opener & solar powered!

Did a lot of research before taking the dive into auto coop door openers and choose ChickenGuard All-in-One with a solar panel...Mainly because it seems they have been around a long time and their live chat people were very informative and friendly when I had a few questions before buying.

Working great so far, and even in the little sun we see in winter the solar panel seems to be getting charge from it! Also like the fact that i can change to normal batteries if i want to. Everything else worked exactly as they advertise. long may it continue!

Great service

Great service. I had a problem with a unit I'd had for 2 years. ChickenGuard quickly identified the problem and send me the replacement part free of charge which arrived in 2 days.

Good old fashoined service. Thank you.

In menu eindelijk gevonden dat sensor met een wachtwoord gedeblokkeerd moet worden.
Staat niet in manual.
Geprobeerd via Chatbot WW op te vragen bij klantenservice: geen reactie.
En wat is dat voor onzin dat je extra moet betalen voor dit WW.
€25,- extra voor een product dat toch al te duur is.
Dit voelt als oplichting.

Het spijt ons van deze recensie, Eelco. We begrijpen dat je een openstaande zaak hebt met onze klantenservice en zij hebben je geïnformeerd dat in de Amazon-vermelding waarmee je het artikel hebt gekocht, twee keer wordt vermeld dat de S5 *niet* wordt geleverd met de sensor ingeschakeld. De upgradekosten brengen het artikel gewoon dichter bij de kosten van het andere beschikbare model, dat *wel* de sensorfunctie heeft ingeschakeld bij aankoop.
We kunnen ook zien dat je drie afzonderlijke zaken hebt geopend via onze Messenger. De reden dat je op twee van je verzoeken geen antwoord hebt ontvangen, is dat het geen zin zou hebben om op alle drie de ketens hetzelfde antwoord te geven.
Aangezien je nu de upgradekosten hebt betaald en de code hebt ontvangen om je Sensor te ontgrendelen, hopen we dat deze kwestie voor je is opgelost.

steeds batterijen vervangen

Om de 6 weken zijn de batterijen leeg en blijft de deur openstaan, alle merken van batterijen al geprobeerd. Steeds opnieuw alles instellen na het vervangen van de batterijen. Wat een klus. ik raad niemand dit dure toestel aan.

Het spijt ons te horen dat de batterij van je apparaat niet zo lang meegaat. Afhankelijk van het model dat je gebruikt, gaan de batterijen van je apparaat tussen de 3-9 maanden mee.
De klantenservice helpt je graag bij het oplossen van de oorzaak van de korte levensduur van de batterij en stuurt je mogelijk een vervangende frontplaat als je product nog onder de garantie valt.

Bought premium with automatic door…

Bought premium with automatic door several years ago. This is the best product on the market. Technical helpline genuinely patient and helpful. Must have called them 20 times when I forgot how to use various programs. Staff always calm and thorough. No longer need and have just sold easily as the brand is trusted

Zoals er hier nog mensen schrijven de batterijen heel vlug leeg om de 3 a 4 weken moeten vervangen niet te doen.

Het spijt ons erg om dit te horen. De verwachte levensduur van de batterij hangt af van de generatie en de leeftijd van je deuropener, maar de batterij moet altijd minstens 3 maanden meegaan. Houd er rekening mee dat als je een laag percentage op het scherm ziet, dit geen verband houdt met de levensduur van de batterij - de levensduur van de batterij kun je controleren door naar "Overige Instell" te gaan en vervolgens te scrollen totdat je een pagina ziet met de resterende spanning. De redenen voor een korte levensduur van de batterij kunnen uiteenlopend zijn, dus dit probleem vereist enig onderzoek. We zien dat je contact met ons hebt opgenomen via e-mail, dus je kunt er zeker van zijn dat iemand van de klantenservice je binnenkort antwoord zal geven.

Bought Xtreme model about a year ago

Bought Xtreme model about a year ago. String broke within a week. Poor response from both retailer and Chicken Guard. Really bad service.
Fixed it myself but have had weekly issues with door not opening/ needs recalibration, door not closing/ door ajar and generally it has been reliably unreliable.
DO NOT BUY THIS. EXTREMELY OVERPRICED AND UNDER PERFORMING product. Look elsewhere.

We understand that you had a case open with the supplier and ourselves back in March, and the last contact regarding the issue was our reminding the supplier that our door openers have a max lift capacity of 2kg, not 4kg as previous models had. The string breaking was not a fault of the unit, but instead due to the door being heavier than the motor could manage. We apologise that this critical information was not communicated to you by the supplier before purchasing the item, and that your unit was sent to you in an old box with outdated labeling. We also apologise as it sounds like, after our last email to the supplier, they did not continue to support you.
We'd like to chat to see if there is anything we can do to get your unit working, so we will be in contact shortly.

The persistent unreliability breeds profound mistrust in their proclaimed superiority, their condescending service mirroring the flawed product. What was anticipated as a safeguard became a source of frustration, leaving a lingering aura of mistrust and disdain towards ChickenGuard.com.

Warranty does not mean anything

I have used chickenguard for a few years. The last unit I bought has never worked properly and when I contact them they always tell me to try something else to try to resolve the situation. 2 months on, it still works only intermittently, which isnt great for the chickens. Its still under warranty and yet they still will not offer a replacement. Shocking customer service. Having to buy another make now.

We can see that the Customer Support team have been making every effort to try to resolve your troubles, but have not received enough information from you and your spouse to get to the bottom of the issue. We are still more than happy to troubleshoot any issues and offer solutions or replacement parts, but unfortunately, we cannot offer a solution to a problem if we do not know the cause.
Our warranty policy requires that we explore all possibilities in order to find the most accurate solution - a replacement unit will not necessarily solve an issue, and may not be needed.

I had an issue with a Chickenguard…

I had an issue with a Chickenguard EXTREME X5.

After contacting Help Service, Marible over the chat pretty fast identified the issue said they were sending a replacement motor.
Three days later I received the replacement and that fixed the issue.
