They wheel and deal you into an auto-renew that must be canceled 90 days before the next renewal. Their "reminder" went to my spam. I called 87 days before the end of my contract (because I do not need any media tracking), and not only did they not listen nor care --- they unilaterally increased my fees by $1,250 --- making it $6,250 that I will be paying them for not using their service. Also, before they were under new ownership, we could renew our list service for a few hundred dollars --- why on Earth did the price increase to over $1000 when dead humans are still listed, and well-known trade publications are not?

They ask that we, as users, let them know all of their errors in lists (that they should be checking themselves with the enormous prices they charge). Sure, I have a LONG list - for a discount, but that wasn't an option.

Three months after I begged them to let me out of my contract a tone-deaf rep had the audacity to ask if I wanted to discuss contract and service upgrades. Talk about bottom-line greed. There is zero customer service or options for small businesses, non-profits or education. Most other media tracking and monitoring offer these options.

They wouldn't even downgrade me to the list service only. As an educator, this "service" is costing me more than 10% of my salary.

They are becoming as antiquated as traditional media relations. Do not let them hold you hostage - like they are doing to me.

I liked PR web - the service was fast, economical, and easy to use.

Cision took over and the service took a complete dump. They auto-renewed us, even when I asked them not to (we still hadn't used the allocation we paid for.)

Run away from these clowns. All they want is the next buck.

Cision provided a quote for a specific set of services, then added additional services that were not discussed with us and NEVER agreed to, and charged our credit card 2.5x more than the original quote!

I've contacted them multiple times since this occurred on November 4, 2022 to remedy and they have provided zero solutions.

Fix this Cision.

Complete scammers. Signed up for one year for SciStarter and they auto-renewed it and charged me an extraordinary monthly fee for services I never used or wanted. Do not use this scam company. Entering legal stage now.

Very eager sales staff. Its been hard to get started with them. I will have to update but so far there is very little support.

They're useless. Everything PR Web provides you can basically do on your own. Their experts are no help.

They sent a $249 bill for a 12 month membership fee directly to accounts payable after I made it clear that we were no longer interested in their services. I wonder how may of these get paid - what a scam!

they promised the world to me, I bought it, and when I told them that it's not what you promised me, they told me that when ill be paid up they'll give me "a free upgrade", I paid in full, and I'm still waiting for them to deliver anything.

Had the same issue as the other guy. They promised the world and delivered a dud

Money is better spent elsewhere

I was scammed by this company.
I used to use PRweb who were ok. After one PR someone pretending to be from PRweb talked me into buying a pack of 6 releases promising me their guidance by their "expert team". What he didn't tell me was he was from Cision who had bought out PR web.

My first release was to announce a new video and they published it without a link to that video, something even a first year media student wouldn't do. I was so angry an demanded my money back and it wasn't till the credit card company contacted them did they bother reply to me. They refused to refund a single penny or even extend the year long contract to allow for the 2 month dispute.

Their service is next to useless and despite me being in the music industry most of the sites picking up a PR were financial. The sites that do pickup the release don't include images so you get a very boring flat story. A complete waste of time and money
