Choosing CK to guide us up Kili and for the 3-day safari was the best travel decision we’ve ever made. CK’s guides, chefs, and the real heroes - the porter crew - were clearly the best! If you’re look... Ver mais

Top Notch Experience
Amazing experience made all the better by Climbing Kilimanjaro's top-notch crew! Our guides (Emmanuel, Solomon, and Victor) were so friendly, safety-conscious, and informative, and we were so impressed by our porters' strength and sense of humor as they essentially sprinted up the mountain. The provided meals and equipment were similarly incredible, and I cannot rave about CK enough!
To the top!
What an incredible journey … personally and as a group. The summit was the destination, but the trek was so much more!
Climbing Kilimanjaro is the perfect group to make the trek with! Justin, Eva, Salim and Adolf are incredible leaders who motivate, inspire and support. They brought us to the summit and back with great cheer, love and safety.
There are many organizations to choose from, and many are quite similar. Go by reviews and word-of-mouth … choose CK!
Great organisation. Amazing experience Lemosho 8 days
The Kilimanjaro 8 Lemosho trekking was very well organized bij Climbing Kilimanjaro. The whole crew was amazing to make this possible. Really enjoyed every day of the trekking thanks to the crew and my fellow travellers :) Food was fantastic and they really make sure you have a safe trip to the summit. Would definitely recommend it !
Amazing experience - don’t hesitate to book with CK!
Such a wonderful experience through and through booking my Kilimanjaro trip through Climbing Kilimanjaro! The booking process was a breeze, with Brian R. incredibly prompt and responsive. Our guide Isack and assistant guides (apologies for any misspellings of names) Salim, Samuel, Gabriel, Dativa, Maria, and Dula were so attentive and caring throughout the trek (tending to the various altitude sickness symptoms for 13 trekkers over the 7 days). Our Chefs Mamma Mia and Luka made cooking large delicious meals in the mountains look like a breeze! And last but not least… our 46 porters (including those that had extra jobs like our amazingly kind waiters, Jifty and Joel, and our latrine staff) were SO selfless and wonderful, carrying our stuff and setting up camp each night.
Many of us in the group discussed afterwards and we truly do not think we would’ve summitted Kili without the support of the collective staff throughout the trek. Massive thanks and gratitude to Climbing Kilimanjaro for creating a truly unforgettable experience on the Roof of Africa.
I am now unabashedly obsessed with the “Jambo Bwana” song they sang before and after the trek. Shoutout to Salim for being the ultimate hype man!
It was a truly amazing experience
It was a truly amazing experience from start to finish. We couldn’t have had a better crew. Everybody from Frank to Yunus, Mashauri, Mamuya, Tuheri and all the porters was absolutely amazing, very supportive, friendly and just great fun.
I highly recommend Climbing Kilimanjaro
My 18-year-old son and I climbed Kilimanjaro in early July, 2023 with the amazing people from Climbing Kilimanjaro. We had a great time and we both successfully made the summit. Our main guide, Gipson, along with his team of assistant guides, cooks and porters lead our 10-person group at a slow, steady pace to ensure we acclimated to the altitude and avoided injuries. The Climbing Kilimanjaro crew treated us like family and made us all feel welcome on the beautiful mountain slopes of Africa’s tallest peak. Thanks CK! You guys are awesome and I will be back to climb Kilimanjaro with you again!
The summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro
I researched a few months before picking Climbing-Kilimanjaro, and it was an excellent experience. It guided me to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro, fulfilling a decades-long dream. We had ten in my group, and all of us reached the summit, with the help of individual porters, guides, assistant guides, cooks, waiters, additional porters, and latrine bearers. A wonderful experience!
Highly recommend climbing Kilimanjaro with CK!
I researched several companies before selecting Climbing Kilimanjaro and I am absolutely confident that our group made the right decision choosing them. Their expert guides and staff are exceptional and the care and support we received far exceeded my expectations. We also felt it was a good value for the price. Our group chose the Northern Circuit Route (CK was one of the few operators that offered that option), and everyone in our traveling group (aged 55+) successfully summited. We were well-fed (even the vegetarians were satisfied) and our health was constantly monitored to help ensure our success. The guides and staff were upbeat, kind, supportive and professional and were wonderful ambassadors for the mountain and for Tanzania. Ultimately, it's the people that make a trip successful, and the people of CK are the best! We also booked a 5-day safari after the climb, which was the best safari experience I have had (out of several previous safaris around the world), which included a knowledgable and experienced guide, very comfortable accommodations and delicious food. CK has earned my highest recommendation.
Climbing Kilimanjaro is the BEST!
Climbing Kilimanjaro was absolutely incredible! Everyone was so nice and helpful from our guides all the way down to the porters, they are an amazing team. They really got to know each of us so they would know how best to help us in our goal of summiting Kilimanjaro. I wouldn't hike with any other team!
I just finished climbing Kilimanjaro…
I just finished climbing Kilimanjaro with the CK team consisting of Danny, Eva, Sam, Tuheri and Alex as guides. I think we got the most fantastic group of guides possible!
All in all our entire group “Team Ant” finished and summited so everyone was very happy including the guides. This is no small feat so I’m going to offer a few comments:
Gear
1. The Pee-Cup was really key, especially in the colder higher base camps
2. The tents the provided (Mountain Hardware) are nice but old. They have holes so when it rains you won’t be dry, bring along some patches.
Food
I get we are on a mountain with limited access to fresh food so my expectations were accordingly
1. The soups are truly amazing, they made a cucumber soup that was phenomenal. Kudos to Roger’s!
2. Bring a salt grinder, a nice jam and hot sauce. The food is generally bland and the breakfasts consisted of a porridge, eggs, a Hot Dog and a crepe. Edible but far from great.
3. Dinners and Lunches were good! We had some great meals like spaghetti and meat sauce and pizza was the groups favorite! But on the other hand we had carrot sandwiches with bread??????? And we had vegetarian salad fixings on a bun?!?!
The CK team is very conscious about safety, they are very professional and truly watched to make sure we all could handle this along the way.
I whole heartedly recommend them but wanted to give some real feedback on the items above as noted.
The best!
This company's organization and its representatives are fabulous.
Our chief guide, Gipson, was an absolute treasure. He has maturity, judgment and natural leadership skills far beyond his age; and he took care of each of the 10 of us hikers with the same careful guidance and attention as if we were each part of his family. His team of 41 -- assistant guides, chefs, waiters and porters -- were terrific. They all seemed to have great affection for Gipson, as he appeared to have for them; and each of the 41 treated the 10 of us hikers with great courtesy, enthusiasm and professionalism.
We were well fed with delicious and bountiful meals. We were well cared for 24 hours a day. We were pampered and nudged as we hiked - and especially for the final ascent and the lengthy descent. The joyful songs - including those with refrains of "maua" and "omba" - kept spirits high as we climbed the most difficult portions.
I also am impressed with the low price point that Climbing Kilimanjaro charges for its hikes; for the careful organization and planning; for the quality control in its hiring; for the high morale of all the 41 members of the support team; and, once again, for the extraordinary services of Gipson.
A terrific life experience.
The hike up to the top of Kilimanjaro is a great life experience that you should really try if you get the opportunity. I completed the climb with my 2 sons and 5 other fun people. However we could not have done it without the great folk from CK.
We were delayed getting into Tanzania and so missed the start of our planned trek, however CK quickly swapped us over to another trek and off we went.
The CK people we were with were excellent. Let me start with the Porters. These guys and girls are superhuman. The loads that they carry up and down the mountain are incredible, all just to make sure that in our case, 8 spoilt tourists could sleep and eat with some level of comfort. The guy who looked after my bag and stuff (Alhaj) always had a smile on his face and was there to greet me as i arrived at each of the camps along the way.
The food. Don't get carried away here. The food is not restaurant standard, however if you remember that you are halfway up a mountain and being mindful that it is being prepared in a tent, then the food is excellent. Plenty of it and 3 good meals each day will keep you going.
Our guides Mbaraka, Anael and Abdalla are three really terrific guys. They will keep you motivated and ensure that you are looked after every step of the way. Always smiling and more often than not, singing some sort of song.
The people of CK really made this trip very special and i will always treasure the memories that they helped to create.
We were originally scheduled to complete an 8 day trek on the Lemosho route. However when we were delayed, we got swapped over to a 7 day Machame route, which evolved into a 6 day hike.
The 6 day option is tough going and so if you want something easier, make sure that you go for the 8 or 7 day options.
Great organization !
Great organization !
I climbed Kilimanjaro in a private solo trek, following the Ronghai route. We did it in five days.
All went super well.
The guys at the office are responsive.
The guide is great.
The chef cook is incredible
The porters are always in good mood
I loved it, I recommend it.
Climbing Kilimanjaro- wonderful team
Good day all. Thanks 😊 for the wonderful team ans support. The team n leader Isaia made the team amazing with out any safety issue. Also the team n lead done the 100% Success on the trip.
During decent I had issue, Office staff n other team leader support for me, immediately with out delay to bring me medical assistant.
I am happy to recommend them n prefer to go with team again if possible. Good luck n God bless you all.
Climbing Kilimanjaro was an epic adventure
Climbing Kilimanjaro was an amazing guide company. Their guides and porters were all so genuine and authentic during my trek.
The guides were very educated and taught me so much about the mountain. As a nurse I was impressed with the guides dedication and knowledge of first aid and emergency care. I had such a great time and would recommend this company to anyone looking to trek Kilimanjaro.
The meals provided were so tasty and full of energy to get through the daily activities. There was a mobile toilet at every camp which made toileting a huge relief to try and figure out.
We had so much fun during this climb, I felt like I was hanging out with friends the entire time. I think my favorite part was meeting the porters and guides (and other trek'ers) and just learning their stories. Everyone I met was so encouraging, supportive and really positive!
It also warmed my heart to hear from the porters and guides that Climbing Kilimanjaro is a wonderful company for them to be employed by.
This experience was very life giving and I am so glad I was able to do it with the porters and guides that I met. I am looking to return in the future!
Climbing Kilimanjaro
We had the best time climbing Kili with Climbing Kilimanjaro. Our guides: Isaak, Justin, Edward, Thomas, Soloman and Alex took such good car of Team Rhino. They kept us at a good pace, made sure we all had what we needed and checked on us regularly. Our group of 13 all made it safely to the top and back because this company is awesome. Additionally, we had great porters, cooks, and everyone else on the hike worked so hard to make our trip the best. I would highly recommend them if you are planning to climb Kilimanjaro.
Following the hike we took a three day safari with Philip. Once again they have the best employees. Philip took great care of us and had all the information about animals, plants, and the parks we visited. He was an excellent guide.
Memorable experience!
Recently, I came back from an amazing experience. In fact, I climbed Mt Kilimanjaro with Climbing Kilimanjaro (CK) and it was beyond any set expectations.
More than a year prior the climb, I got in touch with CK, and Naishie kindly helped me plan the trip. She provided all the necessary details and answered all the questions I may have had. Through the year, we kept in touch and updated each other whenever it was needed until I landed in Arusha.
Upon arrival, both Vitalis, our driver, and Victor, my guide, were waiting for me. We drove to the hotel, as per the shared agenda, and met Naishie who was waiting for me. We debriefed on the climb to come, and reviewed the equipment to ensure I had everything prior starting the climb. The next day, I met the rest of the crew (6 porters, 1 chef).
All the staff were supportive, kind and helpful through the climb. Victor is an extremely knowledgeable guide and focus on your well-being, health, while also entertaining you and ensuring you have the best experience possible. It was an honor to be guided by him and summiting together. Our chef, Nanyaro, was a true magician. Everyday, he brought more and more surprising food. The food was DELICIOUS! and he always did his best to have a nice presentation. Considering the environment, the altitude, the conditions, I never felt it was "camping" food. Either it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner time, I was always looking forward to it.
The list of highlights could go on and on, but I wouldn't want to spoil it for you.
Of course, thank you to the porters (Suleman, Sanguela, and the rest) for their effort, dedication and good mood!
After the climb, and a well deserved shower, I went on a safari planned by Nay as well. Same as for the climb, everything was as discussed and agreed. My driver was Emmanuel and we had a great time. Knowledgeable, caring and entertaining, he ensured I enjoyed my trip. Without any impact on wildlife, he still did his best for me to see as many animals as possible while sharing stories on his country, and his experience.
It's been a couple of weeks that I have been back, and with perspective, I can only suggest this company to you if you wish to climb Mt Kilimanjaro and/or go on Safaris!! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me, or Nay (Naishie).
Again, Asante sana CK for this memorable experience!
CLIMBING KILIMANJARO: Best Guides on the Mountain!
So I feel like now that the dust has literally settled down and I’ve washed it all off of me, I want to give the hugest most expressive shout out to the company that got me to the top of the mountain and back down CLIMBING KILIMANJARO! There are no words that can truly convey just how epic and professional and courteous and awesome this travel company is. From the moment they picked me up at the airport to the moment they dropped me back off and every single second in between I felt so safe and informed and looked after it just totally blew my mind! From Naye the ground operations lady whose smile is so infectious, our head guide Barnabus who was just so solid and so reassuring, his assistants Raymond(soldier), Razack and David. Gift our waiter, all the porters who just made it work seamlessly and especially to the summit porter Alphonce Assenga who was with me every step of the way. I can’t thank this company enough and if you ever want to go climb the highest freestanding mountain in the world this is the company you need to do it with. Climbing Kilimanjaro with Climbing Kilimanjaro
Just returned home after a successful summit of Kilimanjaro. Without doubt one of the best things I've done - awesome in the true sense of the word and incredibly humbling. If you are reading this I imagine you are at least entertaining the idea of climbing Africa's tallest mountain which also means you are probably looking at tour providers. I cannot praise Climbing Kilimanjaro enough as a company. We (myself, father in law, brother in law and 'cousin in law') all felt incredibly well looked after by our head guide Abdi Makina, our assistant guide, Naiman Akyoo and the whole team.
I could go on and on about our time on the Mountain but a few points to cover that elevated the experience above what I was expecting;
1) The welcome we were given by everyone was incredibly moving to me, we were treated like family.
2) The knowledge of Abdi and Naiman was above and beyond - they didn't just get us up the mountain, their love and respect for the Kilimanjaro National Park was evident and we would regularly stop to hear something on a native plant for example. This in particular was very special as I didn't notice a lot of other guides doing this.
3) I tried to learn some basic Swahili and was met with nothing but encouragement and warmth from the whole team.
4) Climbing Kilimanjaro are part of Leave No Trace - which was incredibly important to me - The Lava Tower was an unfortunate disappointment as there is a lot of rubbish there currently, so being with guides that are not part of that issue or that allow any of their clients to be is incredibly important. I cannot fathom why people would go somewhere so beautiful and then not treat it with respect.
5) Altitude and exhaustion hit me hard coming down from the summit and Abdi and one of our porters Shaban Ramadhan made sure I was kept safe and helped down to the previous camp along with our whole team. It was a very slow descent but they keep our spirits up and at some points literally held me up.
For all these reasons and so many more I would not hesitate to recommend Climbing Kilimanjaro, Abdi and Naiman to anyone looking to climb this incredible mountain.
One final note here as I think our entire team deserve to be highlighted:
Lazaro Mollol - Our incredible chef who regularly left us stunned at his ability to cook delicious and healthy meals for us in the most remote locations. He was also the leader of the singing and his energy knew no bounds.
Fanuel John - Our server who made sure we ate enough food and drank enough to keep us going.
Shaban Ramadan - One of the amazing tent crew, but more importantly he took my bag when I was in need most and kept me going down the mountain.
Mathayo Lomnyaki - our toilet porter. We originally weren't going to bother with a private toilet but I can safely say its money well spent. It can't be the nicest job to be in charge of the toilet for a week but Mathayo was always warm and fun to be around and he always made sure the toilet was ready when needed at camp. Mathayo also helped us summit and keep everyones spirits up singing as we climbed.
Our porters, Daniel Gide, Gasper Christupha, Sadam Waziri, William Eliamini, Elibariki Elinego, Saul Magawa, Paulo John, Godfrey Sabini, Agusino Michel, Songa Nzilo, Zakaria Limburisi, Ashani Abdala and (the only female porter I saw on the mountain) Maria Pasiani. Thank you to you all - after some days which were tougher than expected you were always smiling, happy to chat, fun to be around and encouraging to us.
Thank you all
PS no review or video diary mentioned this that I saw, getting down is a full 8 hour descent. Sounds obvious but everyone always focussing on summiting - of course. Getting down is tough on the knees so having poles really helps. Your toes will slide forward in your footwear too so make sure to save a pair of decent thick hiking socks for the descent day.
An amazing Kilimanjaro climbing experience
The company puts its customers' safety as its priority. Great!
