Excellent Customer Service and Comfortable Environment

I had an awesome experience with Corporate Stays and the best thing about the entire process was the amazing customer service I received from booking, questions, extending my stay and then finally, receiving the refund of my deposit.

The first person I dealt with was Maria Campo. She was amazing, and extremely helpful in finding me a great rate, explaining the process and later on, extending my stay for another 2 weeks. Everything was seamless and took the headache out of a stressful situation (extended renovations).

Next I dealt with Ateeb Kazmi. Really stellar service. You really feel like Ateeb cares, following up to make sure everything I needed was taken care of.

So that is the people part of the equation.

The apartment I stayed at - Equinoxe Daniel Johnson, in Laval, just outside of Montreal. The apartment was wonderful. It was comfortable, clean and had almost everything we could possibly need. The amenities were great. The pool, the gym, game room and a large kitchen event room. I went swimming every day for 41 days straight!

The furniture was modern, and clean, I liked the wooden touches and I was/am obsessed with this lamp that was there - all kinds of antlers? I don't know what it was. I felt like I was in a hotel, I would compare it to my Vegas haunt - the Vdara.

The refund of the deposit is a little clunky, you have to request it, but it was refunded in full in the promised timeframe.

It was exactly what I needed and at a rate I could afford with service that often went above and beyond. I would definitely book with them again without hesistation.

Corporate Stays stole our $1000 security deposit

I rented a property from Corporate Stays in Montreal Canada for a short-term stay in September 2025.

Before my stay, and before completing payment, the company confirmed in writing that my $1000 security deposit would be refunded to a specific card.

Despite multiple follow-ups, they later claimed to have refunded a different, cancelled card, which was not even in my name.

The bank that CS claims the refund was processed to has confirmed in writing that no refund was ever received.

The company continues to insist they “completed” the refund but has refused to provide any proof of successful settlement or to issue the refund to the correct account. They simply shared a screenshot that indicates “initiated” but not “completed”!

This has now been going on for weeks, with contradictory explanations from their team and no resolution, our request for the security deposit refund was initiated over a month ago.

I now will be filing formal complaints.

Consumers should be extremely cautious when providing deposits to this company, as recovery appears unnecessarily difficult even with clear written agreements.

Oh and one more thing… the only positive review on this page which is increasing the rating is from the CEO himself. What an absolute joke!

Do not believe the positive reviews

Do not believe the positive reviews — they are absolutely misleading. My experience with Corporate Stays in Ottawa was one of the worst I’ve ever had. I booked with them upon returning to Canada, and from start to finish it was a complete nightmare.

First, they charged me a $1000 “deposit”, which they claim is refundable after your stay. I have yet to receive a single cent back. Then, they added a “professional cleaning fee”, even though the apartment was anything but clean. The floors were filthy — my socks turned black just from walking around. There was dust everywhere, and food crumbs stuffed between the couch cushions, clearly left behind by previous guests.

When I arrived late at night after more than 12 hours of travel, I was greeted by a broken bed, a leaking shower that was already developing mold, a damaged blind, and furniture covered in dings and scratches. The furnishings looked like they had been picked up from garage sales. One side of the couch was broken and sat lower than the other side, and the kitchen table was so oversized for the space that it had to be shoved awkwardly into the living room, overlapping the couch. The hard plastic dining chairs were unbearably uncomfortable, and the kitchen island, which was bar height, had no bar stools — just one of the plastic kitchen chairs awkwardly placed beside it.

For a company calling itself “Corporate Stays,” there was shockingly no desk or proper workspace at all. The place felt more like a run-down dorm room than a professional rental. During my stay, one of the kitchen drawers broke off its track, adding to the growing list of issues.

To make matters worse, we had a terrible experience during their “fire alarm testing.” It was chaotic, poorly communicated, and incredibly disruptive.

I would never recommend Corporate Stays to anyone — not even my worst enemy. You’ll end up overpaying for a subpar, dirty, and poorly maintained apartment managed by a company that clearly doesn’t care about its customers.

Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere. DO NOT BOOK WITH CORPORATE STAYS.

1. Regarding the Additional Cleaning Fee
Our records show that your reservation included a pet, which was not declared at the time of booking.
Corporate Stays has a strict pet policy to protect future guests, tenants with allergies, and maintain hygiene standards in all our units.
Whenever a pet stays in the apartment, we must perform an enhanced deep-cleaning procedure, which is why an additional cleaning fee was applied. This is standard industry practice and was communicated in our policy.

2. About Our Furniture Quality
You mentioned that the furnishings looked “old” or “from garage sales.”
I want to clarify that for the last 8 years, every single one of our units in Canada and LATAM is fully furnished exclusively by our own furniture brand, Casa Suarez.

We also have a strict renewal cycle:
🔹 All furniture is replaced every 36 months across all apartments.
Because of this, we do not understand the description given, and we would appreciate reviewing any photos you may have taken.

3. We Document Every Unit Before and After Every Stay
Our operations team takes timestamped, high-resolution photos:

This helps us verify the true condition of the apartment.
If anything was not consistent with our standards during your stay, I fully apologize — and I would like to personally review the file.

4. About Cleanliness and Maintenance
If the unit was not cleaned properly prior to your arrival, this is unacceptable and not reflective of our procedures.
We have 7-day concierge support, and we would have gladly sent housekeeping or maintenance immediately to fix any issue if notified.

I apologize if you felt unsupported upon arrival.

5. Regarding the Security Deposit
All security deposits are processed and refunded according to our standard reservation policy.
If your deposit has not yet been returned, please contact us directly with your reservation details, and I will ensure our Finance Director reviews your case immediately.

6. Fire Alarm Testing
Building fire alarm tests are scheduled by property management or condo associations, not Corporate Stays.

Terrible Experience

We recently stayed at The Wedge in Victoria through Corporate Stays and the entire experience was poor and continues to be because our $1000 deposit refund remains outstanding after 23 days when they promise a return at day 10. The condo was incredibly uncomfortable - the sofa was the cheapest you could buy, the bed was hard as a rock, the water pressure was almost non-existent, and what they don't mention is this complex is on top of the homeless population Victoria so don't plan on getting much sleep between the noise created and the ongoing sirens responding to them. The condo is just so uncomfortable in every way. The only good thing I can muster is the walkability to the downtown - 15 mins or less. We will give them until October 10th and will then proceed with other action to have our security deposit returned. It all feels very shady. Consumer beware!

Your deposit was not refunded because our team recorded significant damage to the sofa bed and found the unit in a very messy condition with multiple issues requiring repair and deep cleaning.
Corporate Stays documents every apartment before and after each stay with timestamped, high-resolution photos, and the photos from your check-out clearly support these findings.

As stated in our reservation agreement, when damages exceed normal wear and tear, the security deposit is applied to cover those costs.

2. Parties and Misuse of the Unit

Our operations team also reported signs of activity inconsistent with our reservation policies.
To protect the integrity of our buildings and respect for our neighbors, Corporate Stays has a strict no-party and no-gathering policy.
This policy is clearly stated in all confirmations and is a standard requirement across all our locations.

3. Furniture and Unit Standards

All units across Canada, including The Wedge, are fully furnished by our own brand, Casa Suarez, a hospitality-grade furniture line that we refresh every 36 months.
We maintain a consistent and modern standard across all apartments, and the furnishings in this unit were in good condition prior to your arrival, as confirmed by our pre-arrival photos.

4. Urban Environment Around The Wedge

The building is centrally located, offering strong walkability to downtown Victoria. Like many major downtowns in Canada, the neighborhood includes urban activity that is outside the control of Corporate Stays, though we understand it can influence the guest experience.

5. Final Notes

Our goal is always to provide a professional, well-managed environment for all guests and residents. When units are returned in proper condition, deposits are always refunded according to policy.
In this case, the documented damages and condition of the unit required us to apply the security deposit as stipulated in the agreement.

Worked, got fired, never paid in full

I was hired by Corporate Stays in through LinkedIn for a full-time remote freelance position. I completed the job exactly as agreed and was later dismissed after raising concerns about flaws in their productivity tracking system.

Despite multiple emails and proof of work delivered, they refused to pay me in full. I had to chase them for weeks just to receive part of the payment — and they still shorted me hours of work.

Their practices are unprofessional, exploitative, and dismissive — especially toward freelancers. I’m writing this review to warn other freelancers not to accept jobs from this company.

You were hired on a probationary basis for a remote position. During your first week, our management team observed that you were not attending scheduled meetings, not joining calls, and not responding to emails or internal messages. In a remote environment, communication and accountability are essential, and unfortunately these expectations were not met.

After reviewing your activity and the lack of participation, we made the decision to end the contract after one week, entirely within the probation period defined at the time of hiring.

Regarding payment, we have documented proof that:

You were paid for the full week,

Even though the work assigned was not completed,

And despite the fact that your productivity records, communication logs, and attendance did not meet the basic requirements of the role.

At no point did we refuse payment; the compensation was issued in accordance with the contract and with the hours actually submitted and verified.

Corporate Stays values professionalism and transparency, both with employees and freelancers. We also maintain detailed records — including emails, call logs, and activity reports — to ensure all HR decisions are fully supported and justified.

Absolutely the Worst Experience

Absolutely the Worst Experience – Stay Away from Corporate Stays Beyond Business

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience has been unacceptable and deeply disappointing.

We rented a flat from Corporate Stays Beyond Business for two weeks. From the moment we arrived, the problems began:
• The shower barely works.
• The washing and drying machines are not functional.
• There is no toaster.
• The flat was not clean upon arrival.
• The parking situation has been a mess for two days—we were promised it would be sorted out, but nothing has been done.

This morning was the worst part. I arrived at the flat carrying bags, with a 9-month-old baby, and couldn’t even get into the apartment. We were locked out and waited two hours before the concierge (not the company!) helped us get in touch with someone. The company itself did nothing to assist during that time. No one showed up, no call back, no support.

We called and were told that “the man in charge is off.” I’m sorry, but that is not our problem—this is supposed to be a professional company. Where is the accountability? Where is the service?

We’re still sitting here, with a crying baby, waiting for someone to help us get inside and resolve these issues. I’ve never experienced anything so poorly managed. This is not corporate, and it’s definitely not beyond business—more like beyond belief.

Avoid this company at all costs. Do not rent from them. You’ve been warned.

Sad to say.

Sad to say.
Absolutely the dirtiest place possible.
Previous occupant items still in unit.
Bedding and Towels soiled - some with blood.
Interior windows caked with crud etc...
A " cleaning staff " did come to wave a broom leaving none of the issues addressed.
But staff was very sure to apologize and state that customer satisfaction was a priority....
Priority for someone but certainly not them.
....
That was my review of a stay in 2023 - and guess what just happened this day November 30th of 2025 ? Over 931 days later - Someone from this wondrous group decided to look into the matter - I guess it takes that long for Corporate stay to respond to an issue proving their Priority to Customer care, concern and satisfaction. What a great organization.

Cleanliness is one of the most important parts of our service, and what you reported is far below what we expect from our housekeeping and inspection teams.

Before every check-in, our team completes a full cleaning, inspection, and a complete set of timestamped photos to document the condition of the unit. Based on your review, it is clear that something went wrong, and we need to investigate this immediately and thoroughly.

Items such as soiled bedding, towels, personal belongings from a previous occupant, or unaddressed cleaning issues are never acceptable in any of our apartments.
