I was contacted by a surveyor ref spray foam insulation we were advised to get it removed immediately. The company he said to use was Damp Solutions Direct. He said he had run out of forms so would email report never happened. A couple arrived supposedly from Damp Solutions they were a trio of sub contractors the mess they made was unbelievable no dust sheets put down or protective clothing worn. I went up into the loft a couple of days later and couldn’t not believe what I found. I contacted Damp Solutions who admitted they had problems with sub contractors and were going to send a team to put it right, they gave me a date nobody turned up. After many phone calls and emails to them I passed a file of information to Trading Standards. It has been a fiasco from the start steer clear well from this company

Like many of your previous reviewers I used Damp Solutions Direct to remove spray-foam from my loft last spring. I am a widowed pensioner with mobility issues and so couldn't check the work they had done but they showed me photographs of the work which looked satisfactory. At the time my only compliant was that they didn't clear up their mess and they left all the bags of foam in my garden and I had to make several phone calls to get it removed. Nearly a year later I am selling my house as my mobility issues have got worse. A surveyor came to inspect the loft to check all the spray foam had been removed and discovered large amounts of foam still there and the insulation blanket they had installed was fitted incorrectly to hide the fact that they hadn't removed all the foam. Until all the foam is removed and the damage they caused has been rectified I cannot progress my house sale. I have been quoted over £8,000 pounds to correct the damage. I have contacted Damp Solutions Direct as advised by citizens advice and trading standards and I am awaiting their response although it is impossible to get through to them by phone. I can only hope they respond to my email and letter. I will update the situation when I receive a response from the company.

My elderly in-laws were initially approached by a third party claiming to be an independent surveyor specializing in loft insulation. This individual advised them that their existing spray foam insulation needed immediate removal, alleging it caused damp, structural damage to beams, and would render their property unsellable. Based on this seemingly coordinated advice, the removal was contracted to Damp Solutions Direct. From the outset, the service was unacceptable: the DSD team was late on multiple scheduled occasions. Following the completion of the work, the team instructed my in-laws not to inspect the loft for 24 hours. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the new insulation was installed incorrectly and did not meet the minimum required thickness. Furthermore, the DSD team used my in-laws' private driveway as a disposal site for several days, unloading debris and materials from a previous job onto the property, causing significant visual blight. Multiple follow-up attempts were required to arrange the collection of the rubbish. When the collection finally occurred late one evening, my father-in-law was disgracefully forced to assist with the loading of the van. Attempts to resolve these issues were met with evasive and false promises from DSD. A second opinion from independent roofing and loft experts confirmed the extremely poor quality of the workmanship and the resulting inadequacy of the installation. Due to Damp Solutions Direct's negligence, my in-laws are now facing a substantial financial burden to have their roof and loft repaired and brought up to the correct standards. We are actively pursuing legal action against DSD to seek compensation for the financial losses and significant emotional stress inflicted upon my family. Based on this deeply unsatisfactory and costly experience, and the apparent exploitation of elderly homeowners, I strongly advise potential customers to avoid Damp Solutions Direct and seek out reputable local firms.

The offered guarantee appears to be worthless as it is company based rather than that of a recognised trade body.

The team didn't wear the PPE gear they were supposed to have worn. They didn't use the tools that they were supposed to have used with the result that surfaces that are supposed to be completely clear of foam, AREN'T. They didn't clear up when they left. They borrowed our vacuum cleaner to make an attempt at clearing up the upstairs landing but we had to go over it again. The only dust sheet we saw was one that they brought the second day after we complained that none had been used on the first day. They haven't taped all the joins in the foil they put up and we have no idea what, if any, damage they did to the roofing felt without removing said foil. They are supposed to have treated the woodwork but we never saw them bring anything resembling a liquid into the house (or take any such containers out).

We were given a date for a follow-up team to visit to clear up but we're still outstanding that and they've ignored both emails and phone calls.

PLEASE, PLEASE don't use this company.

My experience has been almost identical to that described in detail by Mattyl Chicken Man in his review below. The company's team did a rotten job and I've spent the past six months trying to get the management to put things right. They are constantly evasive, difficult to contact, and never keep appointments. I would advise people to avoid this company at all costs.

Brother in law used them for loft insulation quote nearly £4000 a little excessive i thought but they scammed him out of a further £2000 approx by saying his first cheque had bounced and to send a new one with the full amount. Both were cashed their website and phone number are now both unreachable. The director is also a director of other companies one already in administration another still on buisness he must be a set up con and dissappear artist.

Scam company. Invalid email address. Automated phone line lies about call backs. Spray insulation just dumped under loft insulation.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Well I start off by saying no one tries to scam my parents and try and take advantage of them.
My parents were approached by a 3rd party claiming to be an independent surveyor with expertise.in loft insulation and was advised to have their spray foam insulation removed as it causes damp, damage to beams and wouldn't be able to sell the house if it remained there. The surveyor seemed legit, polite and helpful and arranged for the spray foam insulation to be removed.... This is where it all started to go wrong.. Damp solutions direct set a date and team to come out and remove the spray foam insulation..late on both days only working 4 hrs on the 1st day and 6 hrs on the 2nd day and said we're done!! don't go up in the loft for another 24 hrs they said to my parents. After 24 hrs passed they went up into the loft to find the roof felt lining was ripped, the new loft insulation was not fitted correctly or the the minimum thickness and to top it off swept half of the old spray foam insulation under the boards with the new loft insulation. They've had a 2nd opinion and the roofer and loft experts were mortified by the poor workmanship and mess left behind. Now my parents are another £6000 in to have the roof and loft repaired to the correct standard.
I believe they are taking damp solutions to court and I hope they throw the book at you.how disgraceful, untrustworthy, and shabby workmanship can you get.
After doing my own investigation I believe that Damp solutions direct is a shell company probably a call centre with no real experience or expertise in damp solutions instead you are a little office somewhere in London hiring sub contractors to do a sub par or below par job and raking the money in.
After hearing and seeing my parents experience with you I wouldn't recommend you to anyone and would urge people to look elsewhere, use a local firm with a good reputation. It seems a regular occurrence of similar experiences customers have had with damp solutions direct.

The 3 men who arrived were polite and courteous. They laid dust sheets on the floor and got on with their work. As the job hadn't been completed in time, they returned when they said they would and finished. Afterwards they hoovered up, took all the rubbish away, leaving it as clean as they could after 3 days.

Removed spray foam and laid some insulation in the attic. Team were courteous and professional throughout and kept me up to date of their work plan. Job was done to a high standard and a certificate of removal was provided. Team cleaned up after themselves and removed all rubbish from the premises. Will use again in the future.

A team of three arrived including Maliq, Darren & Harry who were polite & helpful throughout.
On entering the house every time, put on shoe covers and laid covers over the floor & staircase,
They brought their own refreshments and took the usual lunch break.
The house is a listed grade 2 with a tall attic so needed careful scraping which was completed successfully including the removal of many bags of the insulation.
I appreciated their courteous and good work!

They confirmed our job date, sent all the documents by email, and even arranged for a DocuSign contract to make things quick and easy. Every part of the process felt well-organised and transparent.

When the installation team arrived, we were genuinely impressed. They were punctual, polite, and clearly knew exactly what they were doing. The team worked incredibly hard from the moment they arrived — stripping the old roof coverings, safely removing all the foam, and re-roofing with precision. They were careful around the property, kept the site tidy throughout, and made sure everything was left spotless before leaving each day.

What really stood out to us was their attention to detail and genuine care for the home. They replaced damaged felt, treated the exposed timbers, and ensured proper ventilation was reinstated. The difference was visible straight away — the roof space now feels fresh, dry, and well-ventilated, and we have complete peace of mind knowing the damaging foam is gone for good.

Throughout the job, the communication from the office was first-class. We were kept updated daily, sent before-and-after photos, and given a completion certificate once everything was finished. They even followed up afterwards to check that we were completely happy with the results.

It’s rare to find a company that delivers exactly what they promise — but Damp Solutions Direct LTD truly did. Professional from start to finish, excellent workmanship, clear communication, and honest advice at every stage. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone dealing with spray foam issues.

UPDATE 3: Three weeks on, and the company website is no longer online and no one is answering calls. It appears the owner has taken the money and run. His attempts to boost his 5-star ratings with four dubious reviews all posted on one day (31 Oct, a Halloween mystery?!) shows the desperation.

UPDATE 2: Two weeks on, the company has mysteriously gone quiet since we sent them emails showing the original agreed contract was £22k not £26k that it took from the elderly couple. We have asked the £4,000 refund. Given the lies, the legal breaches and now the evasion, it is clear that Damp Solutions Direct is a company to be avoided and investigated. Our efforts will continue via the courts.

The company's reply is littered with provably false statements. Let us go jointly to Trading Standards approved dispute resolution service as recommended by Citizens Advice. Or up your refund offer to reflect what was taken not just an arbitrary figure.

Damp Solutions Direct is responsible for not only poor service at vastly exaggerated costs but also catastrophic damage to the home of an elderly couple.

I have been assisting very distressed friends of mine, a couple in their late 80s, who were persuaded by a Damp Solutions Direct sales rep to pay for loft foam removal, new roof felt and new loft insulation. The couple agreed to pay £22,000. Instead it has cost them £26,000, possibly more, but the company has refused several requests for a final itemised bill.

Work began at the start of September but quickly stopped with only a few tiles removed — the subcontractors had only been booked for a day. The roof was then left insecure and open to the elements for over two weeks. Several rain storms left the loft space completely flooded. Damp Solutions Direct ignored calls and emails asking for help with the situation. Finally, 19 days later, a new subcontractor arrived and was shocked at what he found. He reported back and Damp Solutions Direct accepted that work of the initial subcontractors had been “unacceptable”. The company offered them a “goodwill” refund of £450 — from a bill of £26,450.

But worse was to come. A few days later, an entire bedroom ceiling collapsed. Soaked plasterboard, loft foam and fibre glass fell through, saturated from the water ingress. The couple spent a miserable weekend cleaning up the horrendous mess and two weeks of fearing another ceiling could come down at any moment.

Despite being made aware, to this day Damp Solutions Direct has not made direct contact with the couple about this collapse — no apology, no sympathy. And no payment for repairing the damage, despite a legal obligation to fully cover it. Just messages to the subcontractor (complete with laughing emojis). Anyone with elderly parents or grandparents would quake at the thought of them being treated so cruelly by any company.

Despite several requests, the company also refuses to enter into a Trading Standards dispute resolution process (a measure suggested by Citizens Advice and Trading Standards) — a huge red flag that should put off any customer or subcontractor. There is a damning list of other concerns about this company, including a failure to display a physical address and a director with a track record of struck-off companies. I encourage people to search this company on Facebook and take note of the AI-generated image of the “company vans”, it is a cynical illusion that sums up the company well.

The bottom line is that the project has cost £26,000. This breaks down as: the subcontractor (who came to the rescue) charged the couple directly £9k for work and materials; the scaffolding cost £1.3k; so Damp Solutions Direct has retained over £15,000. It is unclear what this payment relates to as the company refuses to itemise it.

I am doing further investigations as I am also in touch with other customers in the area who are in dispute with Damp Solutions Direct after being subjected to similar tactics.

This company was employed to remove foam insulation from our loft . They must have used a garden rake to remove it as the roofing felt beneath was torn to ribbons . They then fitted totally inadequate insulation with out repairing the roofing felt . Now every time it rains the roof leaks . DO NOT USE THIS company if you value your roof

This company were supposed to arrive on the 20th October. They did not arrive but did not notify me about the delay.
They did turn up the following day and spent the next 2 days clearing my loft of spray foam and very old insulation. They did a good job but unfortunately there were a few problems so they had to come back again to do some snagging - which they did - very effciently.
Contacting them can be quite hard and sometimes promised phone calls do not arrive on the day they said they would, emails were usually answered quite quickly.
However, everything was left clean and tidy and all the rubbish taken away. The guys that did the work were very polite and pleasant.

loft insulation removed okay but about 50 + bags rubbish not collected as stated would as cannot get on my drive

I would like to amend my review in that I gave their customer service nil. However unbeknown to me there was an internal dispute and this has now be rectified and the Company contacted me to explain. They have now reimbursed me the outstanding sum of money and also given me compensation for the trouble. They did not need to give compensation but it was gratefully received and I would now like to amend my satisfaction rating for customer service to 5

From the commencement of the job to remove foam loft insulation, treat the rafters and lay new insulation I have found the employees, from the Head Office to the guys carrying out the works, to be highly professional, courteous, respectful of my property and extremely efficient in executing an excellent outcome for me. It's a shame I can only rate this company as 5 stars as I put Damp Solutions Direct at least 11 out of 10. The work was carried out extremely quickly with the least amount of disruption to me. Everything was cleared up at the end of the day and the job looks like it has been completed to a highly professional standard, I couldn't be happier!

I engaged the Company to remove loft foam insulation and whilst they were doing it they damaged my TV aerial cables which left me with no TV overnight. I contacted a TV aerial person who rectified the fault but said that there was still remnants of the old foam still on the loft floor. I contacted the Company to complain about this and they sent back a team to remove the remnants of foam and also agreed to reimburse me the £96 paid for the Aerial repair. Despite many phone calls to the office this has not happened. I therefore give ratings of 2 for the removal and 0 for customer satisfaction.
