Theft/Scammers/Predators.
Paid 50p for a background check on someone at Info-Record.com - it took that and gave me nothing.
About a week later it randomly scammed me 39 pounds out of my bank!
I called the bank (very draining for me as a mentally ill person) and they said that these predators put it in the fine print in terms and conditions, which they know many people are too mentally drained to read.
Absolutely disgusting!
I am an invisibly disabled Autistic orphan barely surviving on very little money a month, and they just STOLE a massive CHUNK of it!
I'm very angry about this - this is a disgusting business model!
Edit: Look at their passive-aggressive, ableist response - it obviously isn't that clear if many people are on here confused and distressed to have been stolen from with no awareness.

Thought I was using a legitimate company. Paid the 50p and surprise surprise no information. Checked my bank two days later and have a pending amount for £39 for dataapp1! Not the company name I used two days ago. Called the number on the negative reviews below to have the phone put done on me as soon as I mentioned the £39! Followed a link to unsubscribe and it’s saying my email isn’t recognised, so how do you unsubscribe to something you didn’t know you were subscribing to! Am waiting to see what my bank say. Hoping I get a refund

Data App 1 is a Scam
Seeking info on an individual I stupidly paid 50p for
information, as previously stated there was none forthcoming.
Then found my cc stopped by Nationwide (well done
Nationwide) as Data app 1 had tried to take £39 out of my account that I had not signed up to and they obviously have a system that detects these
Scammers. This company should be taken off Google
and the owners should be prosecuted, as there is obviously enough evidence. We should be able to give NO Stars!!

After taking £0.50 for absolutely F*all in terms of information, they send an email with your log-in details but in the VERY small print hidden among a load of information it says in 48 hours they will take a further £39 to sign up to their subscription service. So buyer beware! Not sure how these people sleep at night.
Update in response to their answer : I contacted their customer services 2 days before writing this review. Still waiting to hear from them.

1 star, they're not even worth that. I wish I knew how to get hold of them because I don't know who data app are. I've had £39 debited out of my account and looking back over my transactions I see a 50p charge but I haven't got a clue what it's for. They are thieves and should be treated as such. I will find out who they are........pure scammers.

Paid 50p for an online search. A few days later they took TWO additional payments of £19.50. They repeated that a month later. My bank (Monzo) will not reimburse me because I authorised the 50p! I've had to replace my card to stop it continuing.
THEY ARE SCAMMERS!! AVOID.

Warning - scam company
I have recently lost my
dad. I was trying to locate an Executor. On all their literature it says £0.50 for a search. Two days later they billed me for £39 without my authorisation. I have contacted my
bank to tell them of this scam.
Do not use an unscrupulous scamming company. I am angry I have been a victim.

AVOID - Like everyone else
Like everyone else, I've been caught with a payment going out of my card for £39, for a service that I did not sign up for. My card company, JAJA, was no use at all and have refused to refund the £39. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS - shame that I have to give them a one star.
After a few emails I received a refund without any problems, the problem being that they seem to use quite a few names for their company.

No information was clearly displayed to indicate this was a subscription. Less than a week later they have deducted £39 from my account for absolutely nothing. This is deception at its finest.

Who the bloody hell is Dataapp1
Dataapp1 has been taking £29.90 from my bank account since October 2023. Initially 50p on 07/09/2023 and £29.90 every month since 10 months = £299.00. Spoke to my bank Virgin Money Fraud team, who blocked my card but told me that may not stop them asking for money again. Not very assuring. Only way I can stop it is to speak to this company. How?? When I dont know who the company is? Please can someone tell me how to contact them???? £299 is no joke.
