DeJapan has become my favorite site to order character merch and goods from Japan! I always find myself shopping and even window shopping every time because the website updates new listings so frequently. Their buying service is fairly quick, and the constant communication of when goods arrive to the warehouse and is getting ready to ship is just amazing. I have been very happy with my purchases so far, with everything in very good condition! Can't recommend DeJapan enough!

I've been using Dejapan as my Japan proxy for a few years now and I think they are now perfectly balanced in terms of quality service and costs. However, I would only recommend them if Japan Post is available or you're willing to pay for DHL shipping which is very expensive. The pro is that it ships extremely fast and you can even get your parcel as early as within a week. I'm saying this as someone who lives in the USA (California), so my recommendation is moreso for those in the USA.

I have tried other Japanese proxies as well as Korean and Chinese proxies so I've experienced a lot of different levels of services and costs. While there are potentially other Japanese proxies that have ways to make shipping "cheaper," I would say the difference can be minimal, especially considering the time other services may take to pack your parcel as well as the wait going with a cheaper shipping option. The service fees might also be considered pricey, but it's definitely dependent on what and how much you buy. Just based on my experience, it all balances out compared to other Japanese proxies. I've also found Dejapan to be one of the simplest or easiest proxies to navigate and just buy what you want. However, the Dejapan search system can be super slow to load and the search results don't always find everything so I would recommend just using the actual Japanese sites to search for things and pasting the link in the search/request service option.

Additionally, Dejapan has had the fastest and kindest customer service I've experienced compared to the other proxies I've used. I normally expect response times to take 2-3 business days (and have experienced longer), but so far, Dejapan has been able to answer my questions in just a few hours/within a day.

I've also rarely had issues with missing items/wrong items (when I did ask about a missing item, they gave me points in compensation as soon as I provided evidence). I've never paid for additional services so I can't speak for those, but if you don't want to have a headache and have people who know what they're doing, I can't recommend Dejapan enough.

The service was wonderful. However I would like to complain a bit.

DHL is horrible. God awful. I shouldn't pay this much money for a service just for a delivery service to not do their job. Dejapan should drop DHL.

I tried to order my Hobonichi planner from the Japanese’s website because I wanted a japan exclusive item. My order containing the planner has been cancelled 2x because the planner wasn’t “available”. I’ve checked the site each time after the cancellation and it was indeed in stock. I cannot understand how all my other items were ordered but not my planner? IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEM IN THAT ORDER. Specially cause it wasn’t sold out in the first place! I am beyond frustrated at this point and have been given attitude about providing an English link? I cannot navigate a Japanese website and I wasn’t aware it’ll be an issue. There’s also a photo and description of the item. How hard is it to change the language back to Japanese? After being loyal to the business for years, I might not use it in the future because of this incident.

Haven't used the site in I'd say maybe 2 to 3 years. Recently got back into figure collecting and I said "hey, let's see what Dejapan is up to." Still sad we haven't gotten JapanPost up and running again, but their other shipping methods are just as good. I don't mind spending a quick buck to get them faster.

If you want a better search experience, I recommend using deepl as a translator app so you can copy and paste what you're looking for and getting even more results with your search.

I've tried several proxy services over the years, and I must say, Dejapan surpassed my expectations and then some. Good rates, quick service, and the option to negotiate with marketplace sellers is an absolute lifesaver. The package was safely and carefully packed, too, with no extra cost. Will definitely shop with them again!

The website has been easy to use with notifications or news being visible straight away, a single simple search bar to get a jump to searching multiple online stores or starting up a manual order, and a well-organized page to manage and review orders.

Dejapan's convenience is truly bliss.

I've been using DEJAPAN's services on a regular basis since 2020. Never had an issue after dozens of packages and over 100 items ordered from many different sites.

For me, the main draws are their manual ordering speed and automated system for Yahoo! Auctions. They're also good with pre-orders and supporting requests for all sorts of sites.

I've had manual order requests processed within a minute. And many within minutes to a few hours. Other services measure turnaround time for ordering and warehouse services in business days, plural.
To be clear, I'm not referring to automated emails or fake info from plugins like a certain other service has. Refreshed the item page and it was actually sold.

I don't order as often these days as I mainly order directly from just a few sites and also visit Japan multiple times per year, but DEJAPAN is still my go-to for sites like Mercari and Yahoo! Auctions. As of my most recent experience with them in July 2026, I still highly recommend them. The bigger services do not care about individual customers as they have an endless stream of new customers. I absolutely do not trust other services with the often rare and irreplaceable items that I order.

The negative reviews are largely from cheapskates and/or people who don't understand international shipping. DEJAPAN's fees were among the lowest when I started using them and probably still are, at least for more established services.

The only negative I can think of is the recent decision to pass on payment processing fees, but it is what it is and doesn't detract from the service itself. As a business owner myself, I understand that this is always a difficult decision to make.

I am extremely satisfied with my order and the way the item was packaged to avoid being damaged. I really appreciate the service and will come back for sure !

I really appreciated the quick response to my worries about the new US customs laws and advice to ship my item quickly. It arrived safe and sound and well-packed.

I've had more issues in the past 6 months than the past 6 years I've used Dejapan. The last experience I had with attempting to place a bid on Mercari took three days, and I was told I didn't bid enough after the auction ended. I'd say the problem wasn't with not bidding enough, but with Dejapan not bidding before the auction ended. If Dejapan wants to charge Buyee prices, they need to offer Buyee levels of service. I'm sad that I need to write this review, but hopefully Dejapan will take it seriously this time.

Update: The Mercari auction in question is only one of many times this has happened. It has happened on many manual orders, across multiple sites, including suruga-ya, which is definitely not a'new system'. In addition to manual orders taking forever to place, the system to add items for shopping on 'supported' sites doesn't work half the time. It will randomly say an item doesn't exist, and if you ask support about it they'll say it's out of stock without actually looking at the item. As you can see in the response from Dejapan, they don't read your complaints or feedback and just try to brush it off.

The fact that you think a three day lag to place a single bid due to a 'new' system is fine, and still charge extra for it is insane. Maybe have a working system before charging more money? I'm fine with paying for a service that works, and Dejapan doesn't. This reply shows how tone-deaf the support is, and now they've lost a customer of over 6 years. No response would have been better than whatever attempt at saving face this is. Absolutely pathetic.

I've been using Dejapan for over 8 years or so now. I'll admit, I had a shaky experience with them in the beginning because of some miscommunications that left me doubting if I should even use their service again.

However, over the years, I've learned that they're easily the best proxy available for any purchases made in Japan. The thing that separates Dejapan and the handful of other proxies is customer service. Their customer service is hands down the best I've experienced for proxy purchases.

I've used so many other proxies in my lifetime and while other proxies may leave buyers hanging at the first sign of trouble, Dejapan will go above and beyond to help out their customers. I've had issues with my orders sometimes and every single time, they've never failed to address whatever problem I've had and try to solve them the best they can. They're much more flexible and reliable rather than other proxies where they're a stickler for "rules" just so that they can use that excuse as a scapegoat to leave buyers hanging if they encounter any problems whatsoever.

Overall, I'm glad I found Dejapan. They've been nothing, but good to me. Are they perfect? No, of course not. But they sure as hell try their best to be as good as they can be and that's all anyone can really ask for in a customer service business. Thanks Dejapan for all the years of your wonderful service. Here's your well deserved 5 stars.
