🏠 THE MISSION: DIY Toolshare is a hyperlocal, peer-to-peer platform designed to transform how we approach home improvement. Our mission is simple: why buy expensive tools you will only need now and then, when you could hire them from a verified neighbour just down the road? Founded on the principles of the circular economy, we connect local lenders - who have idle kit gathering dust in their sheds - with borrowers looking for quality tools without the "big-brand" hire shop prices. 📍 LOCAL FOCUS: By focusing strictly on a 5-10 mile radius, we ensure that tool sharing is quick, convenient, and built on genuine local trust. Whether you need a pressure washer to refresh your patio or a mitre saw for a weekend project, we make it easy to get "on the tools" without the clutter of ownership. 🚀 OUR PILOT PHASE: We are currently in an exciting Community Pioneer pilot stage across London, Essex, Surrey (GU), and Hertfordshire (HP). We are actively onboarding lenders - or as we call them, "The Gaffers" - who want to turn their unused gear into a reliable side hustle. Top lenders on our platform can earn up to £400 a month simply by sharing what they already own. 🛡️ SAFETY AND TRUST AS STANDARD: Lending your kit to a local is a big step. That is why we have built safety into our DNA: ● VERIFIED LOCALS: Every member is ID-verified before they can book. ● LENDER PROTECTION: We provide up to £500 protection per listing for total peace of mind. ● TWO-WAY RATINGS: Our transparent rating system ensures accountability for everyone. 🌍 WHY JOIN THE MOVEMENT? At DIY Toolshare, we are committed to reducing unnecessary consumption and supporting local, circular economies. By joining our pilot as a Pioneer, you are helping to reduce the carbon footprint of DIY, saving money for your household, and unlocking the potential of every shed in the neighbourhood. 🎁 JOIN THE DRAW: Sign up today to list your first tool or request a specific bit of kit, and you will be automatically entered into our monthly £100 Pioneer voucher draw. Let’s get the local projects moving together.

Great experience using DIY Toolshare! I needed a tool for a DIY job and it was so much easier and more affordable to borrow one rather than buy it.
Really like the concept of sharing tools locally, and I’d definitely use the platform again.
Such a useful platform! I needed a particular tool for a DIY project and didn’t want to spend money buying something I’d probably only use once. DIY Toolshare made it really easy to borrow one instead.
The whole idea makes so much sense ,saving money, reducing waste and helping people share tools within their local community. I’ll definitely be using it again!
Really happy with my experience using DIY Toolshare. I needed a tool for a DIY job but didn’t want to buy one that I’d probably only use once. Borrowing through DIY Toolshare made the whole process much more affordable and convenient.
The platform is a great idea, and I really like the fact that it helps people save money while making better use of tools that might otherwise sit unused. Would definitely use it again!
Such a great idea. I’ve saved money and earned money and had a great experience. Will be recommending.
As a DIY content creator and business founder in the construction sector, I use DIY Toolshare in a few different ways. I rent out tools I'm not using, borrow tools I only need for one project, and try out new tools before deciding whether to buy them.
It's a simple way to save money, make use of tools that would otherwise sit unused, and avoid buying equipment you might only use once. Such a great business idea!

Thank you so much for the lovely review and for all your support for DIY Toolshare! It’s brilliant to see you making use of the platform in so many different ways. Having people like you, who really understand the DIY and construction space, supporting what we’re building means a lot to us. Thanks again for being such a great part of the DIY Toolshare community!
I've been an early supporter of DIY Toolshare and have listed a number of my own tools on the platform. I work in construction, so I already have quite a few tools myself, but recently I needed a hand truck locally for my personal use to move some heavy items and thought I'd see if I could find one locally through DIY Toolshare.
I managed to find one nearby, book it and complete the rental through the platform. It was a really useful experience and showed me first-hand how handy the concept can be - even for someone like me who already owns a lot of tools. A great idea for borrowing tools and equipment you only need occasionally rather than having to buy everything yourself.

Thanks so much, Ionut, for your support and for sharing your experience! It’s fantastic to have you as one of our early members, both listing your own tools and now experiencing DIY Toolshare as a borrower too. We’re really pleased you were able to find the hand truck you needed nearby and that the rental went smoothly. This is exactly what DIY Toolshare is all about - helping people access tools and equipment locally when they need them, without having to buy something they may only use occasionally. Thanks again for being part of our growing community!
