Had a great day with Andrew. MX5 is a good car to learn the various techniques. Helps that instructors race themselves and the structured approach to the day works well. However you need to be realis... Ver mais

I hope my feedback proves useful to fellow beginners. If you're browsing these comments, as I did prior to joining the program, seeking reassurance that the investment is worthwhile – rest assured, it absolutely is, so sign up as soon as possible. I'm incredibly satisfied and eager to apply my newfound knowledge on the track! A big thanks to Driver61.
I cannot praise Waitrose enough from…
I cannot praise Waitrose enough from the store-pickers through to the excellent drivers. One in particular was so helpful when my bank cards were not working. He patiently organised my daughter to rectify the situation and then waited some more while the cards were verified, then later, proceeded to give me my food!!
Fantastic Experience
Their masterclass and group coached sessions quality are extremely high, interesting and informative, and I was enjoying it enormously. Half way through the course, I had a medical incident that meant I wasn't and to continue. Without fuss and with compassion they offered to transfer my attendance to the next course, and I can begin again.
Fantastic experience all around.

Massive improvement
The course was exactly as described on the website. Emphasis was on instilling key techniques during each session to improve performance to push to the limit. Will was a great instructor and made a massive difference to my confidence and ability – as we kept saying the transformation was like night and day!
Ideal scenario for quickly building skills
Really great day, of top notch tuition, in an ideal one-to-one situation. No need to worry about other cars on track, and Will tailored the day to exactly what I wanted. I couldn't believe how much he managed to teach me in the time available.
Couldn't recommend it more to someone wanting to build new skills quickly, or refine their existing skills!
Pragmatic instruction with a fascinating insight.
I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to Andrew for his patience and excellent tuition during my recent tuition day.
Not only was it fun but more importantly he delivered pragmatic instruction at my level with a fascinating insight into the mechanics and physics of a car on track which then was applied and understood once behind the wheel.
My latent fire has certaily been kindled!
Never too late to learn something new
A really fab session - structured through a programme of activities to consolidate or develop skills and abilities behind the wheel. I have 14 years of racing experience and will be running the #1 on my car in the series I race in as the most consistently successful driver of last year (effectively “champion” but there’s no championship) yet I still learned some new things to apply to my driving and get quicker. My instructor was very friendly and the day was relaxed but also intense - by the time we finished, I was about “done”. I can thoroughly recommend the programme.
Pure Pace Programme with Will Powell
I've just completed a day (0830-1400) with Will Powell of Motus One Racing.
I initially thought that due to having never driven on track that me diving into this would be too much for me and a massive underutilisation of Wills skill set.
After an initial chat with Will at the beginning of the day, he sounded excited to get involved with someone with as little experience as me. Particularly because he can look to install in me the correct skills required without having to first make me undo skills acquired over years of experience.
The training was incredibly structured and progressive. It was delivered in a way that numpty's like me could understand with ease. Will is incredibly approachable and knowledgeable so easily addressed the questions I had throughout the training.
We had the track to ourselves (Prestwold) and very minimal amounts of time out of the car to have a chat about the next step of the training.
For those who feel that this is too much for a complete novice, it's not! For those who also have years in the game, I can speak with reasonable confidence that instruction from quality championship winning drivers such as Will, is suitable for you too!
One of the most confidence inspiring and enjoyable days I've had. Looking forward to gaining more experience by way of track days before getting back in touch with Driver61 for the next one!
Don't hesitate, just go for it!
Wish I had done this ten years ago.
My instructor for the day was Will Powell, a genuine good guy and a brilliant driver.
He is a professional Race driver and the Current GT3 Endurance Champion.
The course was very comprehensive and there is a lot to take in. The training only progresses as you achieve competence in the current part.
It gives you a real feel for what the car can do and how you can make it do it.
By the end of the day I had gained a real insight and look forward to applying it in this seasons racing.
Although it might be seen to be expensive, I think it is probably the most cost effective day of your racing career. Many Thanks to Will and all at Driver61

This was an excellent session with Andrew Bentley. I've done a fair bit of racing (5 seasons) but all 'self taught' apart from a few laps with better drivers. I'd progressed to the point where I was only marginally off the top pace in a very competitive series with around 40 regular drivers - I would typically qualify and finish mid teens with a couple of appearances in the top 10. I'd addressed most things to do with the car and plateaued - so I knew I needed to work on me.
I 'knew' all the things that Andrew covered - but he took each element to another level. He dispelled one or two 'myths' I had picked up and then meticulously addressed key area such as track position, vision, steering, throttle and braking.
Don't expect the usual 'racing by numbers' where you learn a line, braking points, apex etc specific to a given circuit. This is about really understanding what is going on with the car and embedding skills that can be taken to any car and any track - and further built on over time because you will become so much more aware of what the car is doing and how your inputs are affecting it.
And that I think is the key - I am now so much more consciously aware of what I am doing that when I don't get it right, I know what I did wrong. I'm much more confident about proactively taking the car progressively to (and beyond) the grip limit rather than reacting when it suddenly goes over.
No idea if it will instantly make me faster (pretty sure it will) but I know it has given me the tools to continually develop myself instead of doing the same things over and over expecting a different result.
If you are thinking about whether to do this - stop thinking and just do it (actually on second thoughts - don't. Stay as you are, continue to convince yourself the reason you aren't top of the pile is all down to your car and I look forward to racing you!)

I had an excellent day with Andrew Bentley. I had previously done about 12-14 races in Appendix K cars, mostly shared drives. The day was made up of four modules, covering Vision, Steering, Throttle and Braking. Each module involved demonstrations from Andrew and then practice for me, split between the open spaces of the runway and on the track. I got a lot more out of each module than I would have anticipated. It is going to take time to translate all this to my car and the racing environment, but I found it super helpful and would definitely recommend the experience.
Pure Pace course…
I recently took the Pure Pace course and as a somewhat experienced driver already, Driver 61 assessed my current level within 3 laps and then spent the day firstly confirming technique fundamentals, then focusing directly on the main area that we improve my pace and most importantly reduce my lap time. I learned to proactively manipulate the dynamics of the car to maximize grip and rotation while at the limit. It was enlightening to be proactive instead of reactive. I can't think of a driver at any level who would not benefit from this experience and I highly recommend it.
Pure Pace
Exceptional course content and 1:1 tuition (from Andrew Bentley in my case) with virtually sole use of the track. The course is exactly as described on the web site. Highly recommended.
A great day, but be realistic with what can be achieved
Had a great day with Andrew. MX5 is a good car to learn the various techniques. Helps that instructors race themselves and the structured approach to the day works well. However you need to be realistic with your expectations. In reality despite the time on track you do not do that many laps to hone each technique. You have sufficient to get a feel, to put the theory into practise, Ideally you should book a track day a week after Driver61 so that you can revisit the techniques to help with consolidation and understanding.
To the novices ....
Hopefully this review will help other novices out there.
If you're reading these reviews, like i did before attending the program, to convince yourself that the cost would be justified - put your mind at rest and get booked on as soon as you can. I cannot recommend this highly enough. I cant wait to put what i learnt in to practice on track! Thank you Driver61.
Driver training
Excellent day at Prestwold hall. Track relatively easy to learn with cones adding additions to layout. There is also another area for honing car control skills. Instructor very sensitive to abilities and needs. Lots of positive feedback.
Constant checking as to whether course addressing your developmental areas. Tiring but enjoyable. Dining area also does a mean sandwich.
Instant results!
From initial enquiry through unwelcome Covid changes, then finally meeting at the venue the communication was spot on from Melissa at Driver61
The day itself was managed perfectly with Andrew my instructor pitching the level and pace of instruction just right for my learning style.
The skills were all instantly transferable to my racing which resulted in a new lap record at Snetterton in my class which was the first race event after my session.
If you are serious about unlearning bad driving habits and adopting new and better ones, just get a date in the diary!
Fantastic value
Fantastic value. Scott and his team have approached driver coaching in a logical way that no others undertake. It works. Currently leading my championship and just signed up for more support so I can step up to next level of racing next year and still stay at the front.
Excellent day
Excellent day! A significant improvement throughout the day focusing on some foundation techniques.
Thank you drive 61 and thank you to instructor Si Shaw.
