E-bay is a host for fraudulent sellers. I have issued several instances/reports i.e. at least (6) of criminal fraudulent acts by sellers and each and every time e-bay responds by telling me that they find the seller NOT to be at fault. This response is of course a ROBOTIC response but at the same time tells me e-bays policy with respect and in contradiction to the law. E-bay evades any and all responsibility, even after proof has been issued regarding criminal fraudulent acts. Is this the AMERICAN way? I am coming to an end re my e-bay account and it's sad because I trusted e-bay, but no more. E-bay has lost it's personal connection with it's buyers and has developed a way to rid themselves of any issues or complaints/reports from buyers, the people who have been cast aside and whereas e-bay has dictated the buyers have lost their money and their concerns of sellers abuse is of no consequence and it's a dead end. E-bay's website mentions that any decision made by e-bay or it's robot can be challenged. This again is false and I have (6) examples to prove this. Even when you contact e-bay and speak to an agent, it must be an office in the Philippines where they pay peanuts to monkeys.

This review is specific for anyone looking to start selling on eBay. Please do not sell on eBay! They are a total scam. They advertise around 14% commission, but they don't tell you that you pay that 14% on everything: the item price, taxes, shipping, everything! It amounts to false advertising, and you will lose a minimum of 20% of your profit to them. Also - DO NOT USE THEIR SHIPPING! It is also a scam - they regularly double charge you for the shipping amount they first offer you at a later date. This is all done without communication or explanation of any kind! They do not provide any level of customer service for their sellers. I've been selling on their platform for over a year, and it has been ugly and messy. I have been completely ignored by their customer service - blatantly ignored. They refuse to acknowledge my issue, let alone attempt to solve it. They have unlimited access to the money you make on their platform and they will take it at their discretion without explanation or proof that you need to pay it. When asking about these mystery withdrawals from my account, I have been ignored. Please find another platform to sell on, this company does not support or care for their sellers in the slightest. eBay is a scam company with poor reviews across the board - it is terrible for sellers and buyers alike!

Do not buy from eBay,I made a purchase and the seller sent the wrong item and I've been trying to contact e bay and the seller for days and no response and they have removed all my purchase history as well...worst experience and I've lost all my money on my purchase....go and buy on Amazon e bay is a scam

i ordered a part on Nov 20 / 2024 waited over a month and saw that it was moving around at a fake location in the states, finally i got assertive with ebay demanding my part and were is it, ebay deleted my account and the is no trace of my order number and or my part, ebay is nothing but scammers order number 08-12350-46547

Recent update 1/6/25. Spoke directly with eBay. Resolved problem right away. Much better service from my comments below.

Been with them 7+ years with 900+ buys but question who they help, not the customer but the seller. I have an open case for a refund which eBay has put on hold. Also have been trying to get them to correct a technical issue on my account but they don't fix anything. Going to rethink whether to continue with them. Very disappointed.

Item has been lost and they will not refund my money. will not be ordering again. All the seller has done is shown that they shipped it yet i havent received it and ebay nor the seller will return my money. Wont be ordering again. When i place an order id expect to receive it. If i dont id expect a refund. No reason to deny giving me my money.

Ebay uses a "money back guarantee" which virtually allows scammers/buyers to do whatever they want and get a free refund. All they have to do is say the item is not as described if they change their minds, damage the item, or replace it with a fraudulant item. 0 accountability as buyers can just create new accounts. They will never protect sellers despite being top-rated and having years of history. Absolutely horrible. Avoid selling on ebay at all costs.

Why are we paying taxes on any bought items from the Ebay store - Not liking it please refund me

My god, what is wrong with eBay Canada you guys there are delusional.... Why would shipping cost more than the item I'm wanting????

Return Charges
I ordered an oil seal for my car. After confirming order, realized it would take a month at least to receive, so I cancelled within minutes. But ebay says order has shipped(within minutes?) Now when I try to return it I’ being charged $16 for shipping! How’s that fair? No more ebay for me

I have bought several items from eBay.ca and I am happy with the price and shipping options. Items have always been as described. They issued a full refund for 1 item that was not shipped very quickly.

Ebay is hiding shipping cost and GST cost under the umbrella "international shipping service"
Customer service is very UNPROFESSIONAL and gives you different information at all times.

Just lost $150.00
They take forever to arrive and when you want to return something back because of wrong size they will get the item but you will never see your hard earned money.

I did my biggest mistake of my life to buy something from eBay. Worst customer service ever. There’s no coordination among team members. Two customer representatives suggested something and when I did according to their suggestion, I got charged double from the seller. Be aware of all hidden charges the eBay doesn’t mentioned on their website

I bought a high end Cartier and was told it to be authentic.
I discovered it was not and was told by there customer service that I could ask eBay to step in to help on the 2nd of September.
After speaking to them they basically told me that they could do nothing for me !!!!
I was very dissatisfied and have lost faith and confidence in eBay

I am still waiting for my cabinet bought from great deals on ebay Canada. It is well past the due date for delivery and am getting nothing but the run around from ebay Canada and the seller. They have my money (over $500) and can't get a straight answer from the seller or ebay as to where my purchase is or when/if it will be delivered. I will never buy from ebay Canada or great deals again and advise others to follow my lead.
After several weeks, the cabinet from Buy Great Deals did not show up and ebay Canada informed me that they will return my money.
Don't purchase from Buy Great Deals. You will regret it.

They're avoiding parameters to exposing frauds by cards and doesn't have proper forms or clients service's to share important information about it.
They seem more willing to take from your account and fake seller's protections.

If I could give you guys a zero start I would but oh no I have to give you at least one star. This is by far the worst customer service I've ever seen. I'd rather deal with Microsoft or Sony CS.

The shippers used by eBay are completely incompetent. I’ve tried ordering the same item from two different shippers. The first item was lost in transit and never delivered. Now this same item from a different shipper has been sitting at an eBay shipping hub for 20 days without any movement. I’m sure it’s been “lost” too. What a joke of a company.

eBay's global shipping is absolutely terrible, the seller is made to ship the goods to an eBay hub whereby the item will sit there for days on end with no movement under the disguise of being inspected, which is nonsense. The last two items I purchased sat there in eBays hub for 6 days each, eBay holds these items until they have a load for the carrier which is grossly unfair to the buyer who pays a premium amount for shipping, the reason eBay does this is for cheaper bulk shipping but does not pass this on to the buyer. I am thoroughly disgusted with eBay and will never again shop with them unless absolutely necessary, Amazon is far superior in every way.
