The experience in Athens was unreal, I felt overwhelmed with joy to be part of this experience. The beauty and the history of the city is phenomenal experience for myself and my students. This trip surely opened our minds to seeing the world. It is such a beautiful place to visit.
From the food to the weather everything was perfect. The tour was well paced and the tour guide was very knowledgeable of the history and culture of Greece. A fantastic time was had by one and all.
My daughter enjoyed Greece so much. However, it was an expensive trip and for only 7 days (1 day flying there, 5 days in Greece, then 1 day flying home). Greece is an amazing place to see and she loved the adventure.
The flights could have been handled a lot better. My son has life-threatening food allergies and I indicated this on EVERY form possible. EF Tours was aware and so were the teachers from our school. When I called EF tours to ensure that the airline would be made aware of this they told me I had to contact the airline directly. This was not an easy feat since it was a group booking and I didn’t have that information. After extensive communication with EF tours, they finally gave me the information that I needed. I contacted the airline and spoke with someone and although it clearly indicated on their website that an allergy friendly meal would be made available upon request, when my son was at the airport and spoke to one of the airline representatives they told him they had no such thing nor was there anything on file under his name. He even had a reference number and quoted that and the airline rep told him that it meant absolutely nothing to them. He then asked them for a list of ingredients for the food that they would be serving and they told him they had no such thing. This was very stressful for my son and unacceptable. Furthermore, we indicated that he be sitting with his friends from school because they are aware of his allergy and he would be safe around them because they would not have brought any food on board that could trigger an allergic reaction. Instead, my son was separated from all of the kids from his school and was placed between two complete adult strangers. This was his first time flying without his parents with him, and although he is good at advocating for himself, he was unsure about what to do in this situation. The seatbelt sign had remained on the whole time, and he was not able to see where his teacher was sitting and ask for a different seat. Instead, he sat with the strangers and was very nervous for the duration of the very long flight. When the food arrived there was indeed a label on it, and he was able to read the ingredients and make a decision that the food was safe. I’m not sure why one of the airline representatives couldn’t have made the smallest effort to look at the food before clearly telling him that an ingredients list was not available. Again unacceptable. Once in Greece, the EF tour guide was very accommodating and took the allergy seriously, even calling ahead to restaurants to ensure that my son could be accommodated. He felt very comfortable and very safe with his EF tour guide. This guide was amazing! Unfortunately, the flight home was almost an exact repeat of the flight over. There was no indication under his name that he had an allergy and my son once again was not seated with his school mates originally. It is baffling to me that a group of this size would not be sitting together. Overall, I’m giving a three star review, but I would prefer to break it down: One star for the flights. Five stars to the EF tour guide. Three stars for the trip in general. The students only got to spend five days in Greece, which was far too short to be traveling that distance and for that cost. There was an eight hour layover in Amsterdam, and this was a complete waste of time. There is no reason why EF tours couldn’t have worked out a short 2-3 tour of Amsterdam. We even had one parent look into public transportation and draw up an itinerary, leaving ample time for everybody to be back at the airport with a very minimal cost of around $10 for public transportation. It was disappointing that this wasn’t even considered. Eight hours in an airport is a long time, especially when you still have a six hour flight ahead of you. My son has great memories of the trip but for the cost EF tours could have done better. I have heard that EF tours puts on some amazing trips, and I have also heard that some of their trips are lackluster.

This trip gave me a little taste of everything Greece has to offer. We spent just enough time in Athens, before moving on to the islands and the more rural areas of Greece. I loved the contrasts of experiences included in this trip; the history, the food and the beautiful landscapes and beaches were all incredible to experience.
Trip of a lifetime! We were pleased with the itinerary and the guide assigned from EF made the tour was personable, kind, and funny! He made the trip engaging and memorable for the students, ensuring they learned a lot while having fun. The itinerary was well-planned, offering a perfect balance of history, culture, and adventure. Overall, it was an incredible experience, and we’re grateful for the fantastic guide and seamless organization by EF! #SameTribe Thank you!
