I'm extremely delighted with my experience with Eiken (I purchased the Eiken Rostock backpack).

Firstly, I want to talk about the product itself: You can truly feel the quality of the materials at first touch. It has a sturdy structure and resistant fabric, giving it a premium feel. The outside is waxed and the inside is covered with an impermeable layer, conferring it waterproof capabilities. It also has a nice capacity, due to it's two large compartments: a smaller one for your miscellaneous, and a larger one for your whatsoevers (in my case books, laptop, etc for my daily routine, however it looks perfect for traveling as well). Inside you have several other pockets, including a strapped one for your laptop. I just want to conclude by saying that it does look awesomely nice and the overall quality exceeded my expectations in every way, I have the feeling that this good looking backpack is going to be stuck with me for 20+ years.

Secondly, I want to address the customer service. One word? Impeccable. My backpack came, unfortunately, damaged. It was not factory made damage or defect as the delivery parcel was cut from the outside. It was carrier negligence. I contacted Eiken's costumer service, while providing photographic proof of the damage, and in less than a day the incident was sorted and a substitute backpack was sent on my way. I wasn't told to speak with the carrier company or diverted in any way. The person who handled the process was friendly, his responses were fast and detailed and I felt I was being well taken care off. Great job!

I decided to provide a more detailed review of my experience due to the fact that, with only great 108 reviews on Trustpilot (at the present time), many people may not be as confident as when they're buying from a well known company with thousands of positive feedback. Well companies have to start somewhere right? You can't immediately have thousands of reviews at the start. I sincerely hope they get there one day and I want to contribute to that.

J'ai découvert Eiken par hasard mais j'y retournerais par choix. La commande est arrivée dans le temps indiqué sur le site (entre 7 et 10 jours). je me suis lancée et passé ma commande. Mon sac à dos Copenhague est arrivé très bien emballé et parfaitement identique à la photo. Je recommande sans hésitation.

Delighted with my Eiken bag. I love travelling, but I'm not a fan of nylon backpacks. What's great about this is that I can just as easily take it on a weekend in London or Paris, or a trip to the Outer Hebrides.
It conforms with a lot of airlines draconian rules so I won't have to check luggage, but is spacious enough for a trip if you like traveling light, and has lots of extra pockets for valuables or your toothbrush.
Costumer service is also great.
Thank you Eiken, I'm ready for my next adventure!

Nous avons commandé deux sacs mais n'en avions reçu qu'un. Le service client a été très réactif pour rattraper leur erreur... Et très généreux avec des cadeaux personnalisés :)
Les sacs sont de très bonne qualité (très solides), je n'ai pas peur des les emmener à l'aventure !
PS: Nos ordinateurs 17" passent très facilement dans les sacs 15"!

We ordered a pair of bags, but only received one. The service was really reactive at making up for it... And sent us personalized sorry gifts :)
Bags are really good quality (very solids) , I'm not afraid to take them on adventures!
PS: both our 17" laptops fit easily in 15" bags!

Very satisfied with my purchase from EIKEN. Decent quality backpack. The package got lost during transport but the people from Eiken and GLS were friendly and helpful. Package was eventually found and received without damage. It took a while before I received my order. But sometimes patience is key. I am a satisfied customer.

Eiken has very nice well made bags. There was some confusion with my order and they gave me a free backpack! Highly recommend.

We just received two QAANAQ duffel bags. The bags are beautiful and well crafted. The purchase was followed up by easy to understand care instructions. The support team is also incredibly helpful and very responsive. I look forward to many great years of travel!

Les produits proposés sont autant beaux que de qualité. Le sac Göteborg que j’ai choisi est assez épais et semble très solide. De plus il est vraiment conforme aux descriptions et photos du site et l’aspect vintage est parfaitement réussi.
Cerise sur le gâteau, on peut même y faire graver initiales ou messages courts sur le rabat.

Mais au delà de cela, ce que j’ai vraiment apprécié chez Eiken, c’est la présence et l’écoute de ses vendeurs. C’est une des premières fois que l’on prend le temps de me répondre tout en prenant vraiment en compte mes attentes, de surcroît avec autant de bienveillance.
Eiken (l’équipe) propose également un suivi pour l’entretien des sacs ☺️

Je recommande vivement à tous ceux qui aiment les sacs vintages de foncer sur ce site !

I bought one of the backpacks for almost 100 pounds. After few weeks, metal parts started to corrode and gradually every metal part will needs changing within a year or so. Also zips stopped working after a month or two. You can return your backpack only within 2 weeks after purchase, so I suppose I should have known that it is not reliable for longer periods - thus 2 week warranty period.

This is a great backpack bag. It is a beautifully soft leather, comfortable to wear, stylish and roomy inside. Definitely recommend this company

I received my Leather canvas back back today, and it's already love at fast sight, fast impressions matter to me alot based on what was advertised, it feels so original,conformable, and classy.

I'd been trawling around the internet for some time, trying to find a quality rucksack with some rustic and urban charm and then I found Eiken. Great bags! I purchased two, a rucksack and a Tote bag. Their unique email response to my purchase and my retail experience was very satisfactory. i was pleasantly surprised how genuine and polite they were and helpful. I guess that might sound weird but it was so unlike the usual generic emails normally received when purchasing. It was a nice touch and I hope they keep that intent. Delivery time was as expected and I am very happy with my purchase. I look forward to purchasing from them again...

I was torn between 3 or 4 stars. Here's why. Tallin drawstring backpack in grey.
Pros: Love the vintage look and colour, great quality of materials, feels like it will last a long time, roomy sack - been taking it shopping on foot in the lockdown, a host of separate pockets inside and out for different purposes - including zipped pockets.
Cons/room for improvement:
1. The phone pocket is great but just a shade too small if your phone has a cover - it fits in but with an irritating struggle.
2. The other zipped pockets on the outside are also a tad too narrow which means that, because they are nice and deep it is a struggle to get my hand right down to fish things out, especially my wallet which only just fits in so tends to get wedged in. Also, as an aside, the zips were very stiff when the bag arrived - I had to rub them with wax to get them moving.
3. I don't like the magnetic closures because I don't think they are safe - too easy to flip open. Also, with this bag, the straps they are attached to are allowing room for stuff so they don't close automatically if the pocket isn't really full - it's quite difficult to get them to engage so they tend to be flapping around open most of the time. I can live with this for the small pockets, which will be reserved for stuff that doesn't matter, but I really don't like it for the main sack. I have another (leather) backpack which has a metal closure that 'clicks' and can't be opened unless you push a button. So I'm thinking about either gluing the magnetic closures shut and using the buckles, or replacing the closures with something else.

Really lovely canvas backpack. Very nicely made, lots of pockets and a good size. Bought for a trip that sadly didn’t happen due to Corona virus so haven’t been able to use it and test properly. Looking forward to going on my first adventure with the new, good looking adventure bag.

Absolutely fantastic bag. The craftsmanship is brilliant I can tell this is going to last for many year to come. I have already used it to travel to various countries and wanted to use it before leaving a review. It is genuine leather so it does mark quite easily as you would expect but it just adds to the look of the bag and it is nothing that makes the bag look tatty.

Nice amount of support in the straps with nice weight distribution. I have quite a broad chest and shoulders and often find backs slipping or wanting to pull way but I had no issue with this and the straps were very comfortable. I managed to get a lot in the bag and made full utilisation of the various pockets, straps and even the D ring.

This is a bag that is sophisticated and stylish enough for the day to day travel to and from the office and between meetings and robust enough to put up with hiking in Phoenix with all the sand and sun on the climb to the peak (no photos unfortunately).

I highly recommend this bag (if you can get your hand on it!) I had to wait for it to come in to stock but it was fully worth the wait.

Great quality rucksack. Canvas & leather, and big enough to fit a full size laptop inside.

The online pictures make the rucksack appear more blue than it actually is. The one we received is a soft green. Still nice but not really what we were expecting.
