We hired a car for 5 days, brilliant service and very helpful, would recommend, car was A 1, we will use Elephant next year !

AVOID AVOID AVOID! I would be giving this 0 stars if it was possible. We had a terrible experience with this company, despite having used them once before and being a returning customer.
Initially when the car was given to us, the handbrake button was stuck, which left us stranded for an hour before the guy “fixed” it by hitting it with force.
On the morning we were meant to be returning the car (agreed at 1100) two men appeared at our house at 1000 and were inspecting the car, only to then silently get into their car and drive off when I asked who they were. The manager Charlambos later confirmed that these were his colleagues.
Instead of a proper handover, we were told to leave the car in a carpark with the keys in the car boot and the next day received a call saying that there was damage to the car and the car was not left clean (despite neither of these things being factually correct). It resulted in them in keeping 100 euros of our deposit unjustly and throughout numerous further conversations being extremely rude.
Also, just to note, that they expect the customer to properly clean the car even though there is a global pandemic!

This is a friendly yet professional car rental company who go the extra mile. Before arriving on the island I was contacted by phone to confirm some details on my request form. My vehicle was presented clean and in good working order. I have already recommended this company to others. I was very happy with the vehicle overall service and will happily use this company a third time. The sign of a good company is how they handle things when they go wrong. I had a few issues throughout the rental period and they were dealt with quickly, effectively and beyond my expectations.

Ordered a mazda2 to be collected at Paphos airport.was met outside by (Jimmy) nice chap..have dealt with him before,he shuttled us to the new offices,on the way he told us that we had been upgraded,to a kia Sportage,(totally unexpected,and a nice surprise).. double the price at no extra charge .result!!..paperwork completed payment and deposits paid..car just outside the office....returned the car after holiday,they checked the car and refunded the deposit on the card.... shuttled us back to the airport....great service again....going back in a few weeks will definitely book with this company..

Great company, very reliable, they were waiting for us on arrival, low cost, low deposits compared to other companies. I left my jacket by accident, they phoned to let me know and held onto it for the week.
I look after our company properties in Cyprus and I have given every visitor a business card and recommended that they use Elephant rent a car.
Marcia drove us back to the airport and she was an absolute dream. Thank you Marcia for being the best. I will return to Cyprus just to see you. 💕

Hired a car with Elephant Rent-a-Car for 5 days, during the first week of our recent holiday to Paphos.

Had looked around Tripadvisor pre-travel, and based on other recommendations and comment, decided on Elephant. Car was quoted as 110e for 5 days rental of a Fiesta sized car.

Rep (scottish fella) came to our hotel on the Monday to deliver the car. 250e security deposit was charged to my credit card, and photos of the car condition were emailed to me. The rep had filled the tank with 30e of fuel which I was charged for, and told to return the car empty. I was also told how to leave the car, and they would come and collect it on collection day.

Car was a Nissan Note, which was in great condition, and well equipped, not a base model. We only used the car for 3 of the 5 days, and had just over 1/4 of a tank of fuel left, but still feel the price was reasonable to allow us to see a bit more of Cyprus at our leisure.

I left the car on collection day (Saturday morning) and it was collected. Next day I checked my credit card account, and the security deposit had been refunded, no issues or delays.

Would definitely recommend Elephant Rent-a-car, and would use them again should we holiday in Cyprus again.

We have rented a car for 10 days.

Everything was great since arriving at the airport, the staff was waiting for us outside at the arrivals terminal, they took us to the rental place with a shuttle. The cars were already there prepared.

After checking our documents and charging the deposit, they gave us the keys and we were ready to go.

At the end of our trip we dropped the cars they’ve returned the deposit and drove us back to the airport.

The whole process went smooth, I would highly recommend this rental company.

Hired a car for 2 weeks in September, what a great service . We were met at the airport with the car and they had upgraded us to an automatic for no extra charge which was an added bonus . Car was spotless and had low mileage . We were met at the airport on departing, car checked over and our deposit was returned that day . Can’t recommend this company enough I can honestly say I will definitely use them again next year and highly recommend them

Rented car for 14 days , it was in perfect condition and spotlessly clean.They emailed to confirm booking before we came and terms of rental. They were late for meeting flight but not a huge issue after filling out less than 5 minutes of paperwork and paying we were out of airport it was fast and effecient. Given clear instruction for drop off but were met at drop point and car checked and cleared and deposit returned with no issues. I would have no hesitation using again as they gave competative rates with others available and accept debit card so great service.

We rented a buggy from these guys in faliraki, unfortunately we could only have the buggy till 8pm, however we realised this suited our plans perfectly, we hired it from 12-8 and cost 80 euros! Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend and when we go back will hire again! We wanted to feel safer than a quad bike and the buggy gave us the extra safety.

Have used this company many times before without issue. On collecting the car at the airport I was informed that there was a 500€ excess on the insurance. I could reduce this by doubling the advertised rental cost. I was informed that I was not covered for any damage caused whilst on a car park. The rental man then went on to say that we would be charged 50€ for a little scratch. I then spent the next hour checking and photographing the car and listing the damage which was not on the rental agreement. Not a pleasant start to a holiday. Will use another company in future

So disapointed. The company must have changed ownership. I could always trust Elephant as the price you saw on the web site was the price you paid and the car would be full of petrol and you brought it back full..Very fair. It was also fully insured, no waiver damage etc or excess as it was all in the online price.
Now when you arrive the web price is not all inclusive, you have to take out extra insurance which added another Circa 100 euros more to the cost and they charged you for half tank of petrol which is a totally unfair method. No one is going to risk running out of petrol on the return to the airport so it is likely like us that they will have at least a quarter tank left so you are actually paying for petrol you dont use and that part of which they have not paid for. the previous fair fuel policy was better. We have been a customer of Elephant for about 12 years but we will now look elsewhere now as we feel a little conned!. This use to be typical of overseas companies grabbing evey penny from the hard working holiday maker and such practises really annoy me.

Hired car for 10 days met on arrival at airport done paperwork no problems at all will use again next year

A very rood and unfriendly guy met us at the airport. he told us that they are a giving us a bigger car than the one we booked - BUT that they are going to replace this bigger car 2 days later. He set the time and place that are comfortable for the them (elephantrentacar company) to make the replacement and said we HAVE to be there. he wouldn't agree to change the time or place. when we said this was totally not ok, he just closed his papers and said that the deal is of and we should find another rental company. we had very small kids with us - but he really could not care less.

used this company for the last 5 years and honestly cant fault them so simple and allways there when you need them

As a returning customer to Elephant car hire I have nothing but praise for this company , I was met at the airport on time and surprisingly met by a fellow countryman, hand over went smoothly, sat nav provided, and destination entered , the vehicle was clean and presentable (when hiring cars you must remember that these vehicle are driven by all and sundry) and unless they are brand new you have to expect a “used” vehicle and whilst most people will treat the vehicle as their own and take care of it , there is a large number that abuse it as it’s not theirs and seem not to care how it’s used and driven. My vehicle was a Toyota Fielder auto, unfortunately the air con failed in the Troodos mountains , when reported to there excellent and helpful employee, she very quickly made arrangements to provide a replacement vehicle, which we were presented with by agreement at Paphos bus station, again by a very helpful representative, even better the replacement provided although a manual gearbox which wasn’t a problem, was an upgrade over the Toyota.
Having spent my entire working life in the motor trade, from apprentice motor mechanic through to general manager I know how difficult it is to provide customer service and satisfaction and always meet their expectations (you can’t please all of the people all of the time)
As far as the negative reviews are concerned, please consider the problems that the hire company is presented with and give them a chance to address any issues, and I can assure you that Elephant Car Hire will.
