I have rented from El Monte several times. Customer service is great. I had no issues with them.

Over all great costumer service at the Dublin (SF) location. We had an issue with an ant problem in the motor home we rented and the smell of cigarette smoke in the over head bunk above the driver and passenger seats. That was a bit disappointing to deal with but overall we managed to have a great trip.

I got exactly what I needed on somewhat short notice. From the communications by email up to dropping off the RV at the end of the trip, everyone was easy to work with.

It was so easy to rent from this location. Very helpful staff. Location was close to my home.
Class C RV was easy to drive. And loved the the extra room with the slide outs. Awning was a plus. And as I camped at a campground with electrical and water, hooking up was easy.

The RV was in good conditions. Everything worked. We had no issues.
Most importantly, I lost my wallet, the cleaners found it, and management report it to me and sent it to me. all the cash and credit cards were there.
This level of honesty and integrity is quite rate nowadays.

das von uns gemietete Wohnmobil war ein älteres Modell (vor Baujahr 2024) und befand sich in einem Zustand, der aus unserer Sicht weder verkehrssicher noch zumutbar war.

Bereits bei der Fahrzeugübernahme in San Francisco begann das Problem. Der Mitarbeiter kannte das Fahrzeugmodell kaum und konnte unsere Fragen nicht beantworten. Er wusste weder das Fahrzeuggewicht noch, welche Ausstattung vorhanden war (z. B. Campingtisch). Als er uns den Gasherd erklären wollte, gelang ihm dies nicht. Stattdessen trat Gas aus, worauf wir das Fahrzeug zunächst ablehnten. Erst ein weiterer Mitarbeiter erklärte ihm, dass zunächst das Gassystem aktiviert werden muss.

Bereits die Fahrt durch San Francisco war eine Katastrophe. Das Fahrzeug war derart laut, dass wir uns während der Fahrt kaum verständigen konnten. Unser Kind begann deshalb sogar zu weinen. Während der Fahrt öffneten sich die WC-Tür, die Kühlschranktür sowie Dach- und Seitenfenster selbstständig. Zudem quietschte die hintere rechte Bremse bei jedem Bremsvorgang. Wir mussten verschiedene Teile mit Duck Tape befestigen, um überhaupt weiterfahren zu können.

Nur etwa 10 Meilen nach Kingman hatten wir einen platten Reifen. Wir verständigten umgehend den Pannendienst, der Hilfe organisieren sollte. Nachdem wir mit einem Kind bei über 40 °C mehr als drei Stunden am Straßenrand gewartet hatten, riefen wir erneut an. Schließlich mussten wir mit lediglich etwa 10 Meilen pro Stunde selbst rund eine Stunde bis zur nächsten Werkstatt fahren. Dort erfuhren wir, dass El Monte überhaupt keine Pannenmeldung übermittelt hatte. Es stellt sich daher die Frage, was der Pannendienst in diesen drei Stunden tatsächlich unternommen hat.

Bei einem weiteren Defekt – einem Stromausfall – informierten wir den Kundenservice bereits am Morgen. Da wir bis zum Abend keine Rückmeldung erhalten hatten, fragten wir gegen 19:00 Uhr erneut nach. Uns wurde lediglich mitgeteilt, wir sollten zu einer Werkstatt fahren. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt waren wir jedoch bereits auf dem Campingplatz eingerichtet und gerade beim Kochen. Zudem hatte um diese Uhrzeit ohnehin keine Werkstatt mehr geöffnet. Eine derartige Unterstützung ist völlig unzureichend.

Ein besonders gefährlicher Vorfall ereignete sich auf dem Highway: Während der Fahrt löste sich eine äußere Zierleiste und flatterte im Fahrtwind. Ich erschrak derart, dass ich beinahe einen Unfall verursacht hätte. Dieser Vorfall war lebensgefährlich.

Durch die zahlreichen Defekte und die mangelnde Unterstützung des Kundenservices verloren wir mindestens zwei volle Urlaubstage. Als Entschädigung wurden uns lediglich 100 US-Dollar angeboten. Angesichts eines Gesamtmietpreises von über 3.700 US-Dollar inklusive Versicherungen empfinden wir dieses Angebot als respektlos und völlig unangemessen.

Während unserer Reise traten unter anderem folgende Mängel auf:

* Kühlschranktür öffnet sich während der Fahrt.
* WC-Tür öffnet sich während der Fahrt.
* Dach- und Seitenfenster öffnen sich während der Fahrt.
* Hintere rechte Bremse quietscht beim Bremsen.
* Reifendrucksensoren defekt.
* Schmutzige Kaffeemaschine bei Fahrzeugübernahme.
* Nummernschildbeleuchtung abgebrochen.
* Metallleiste am Notausstiegsfenster löste sich.
* Kühlschrankleiste fiel ab.
* Außenzierleiste löste sich während der Fahrt (Beinahe-Unfall).
* Markise ließ sich nicht vollständig einfahren.
* Schiebetür zum Schlafbereich ließ sich nicht schließen.
* Schrauben am Schrankgriff lösten sich.
* Weitere Mängel, die hier nicht vollständig aufgeführt sind.

Fazit:

Wir haben über 3.700 US-Dollar für ein Fahrzeug bezahlt, das aus unserer Sicht erhebliche Sicherheitsmängel aufwies und in diesem Zustand nicht mehr hätte vermietet werden dürfen. Durch die zahlreichen Defekte und die unzureichende Unterstützung des Kundenservices wurden wertvolle Urlaubstage zerstört und wir mehrfach gefährlichen Situationen ausgesetzt.

Sämtliche Mängel sowie die gefährlichen Vorfälle wurden von uns fotografisch und per Video dokumentiert, insbesondere das Ablösen der Zierleiste während der Fahrt.

Mit einer Entschädigung von lediglich 100 US-Dollar werden wir uns nicht zufriedengeben. Nach unserer Rückkehr werden wir die Angelegenheit unserem Anwalt übergeben und rechtlich prüfen lassen.

Wir können El Monte unter diesen Umständen keinesfalls weiterempfehlen. Für uns steht fest: Einmal und nie wieder.

We enjoyed our experience with Dublin (San Francisco) El Monte RV. We rented an RV for a week traveling to 3 states. The staff was friendly and helpful. The facility is clean and well maintained. I'd recommend this location to friends that wanted to try the RV life for a trip.

1. Pick-up in Denver was effective and pleasant. No problem and very friendly personnel.
2. The ~5 week travel and ~5200 miles were without any problem with the RV! No engine or tires issue and no problems with any of the onboard systems. So I am unable to comment on their 'service' during the trip: there were no problems...:).
3. Return in San Francisco was again very effective and pleasant with nice and friendly personnel.
In summary: great RV and great company.

We rented a Class C motorhome from the Dublin/Bay Area location for an eleven-night family trip with our two teenage sons. The vehicle was handed over with an auxiliary house battery that would not hold a charge. On day one, after a full day's driving, the fridge died within hours and we lost about US$250 of food we had just bought. For eight of the eleven nights the fridge and 12-volt systems were unusable and the generator wouldn't even start. We paid for eleven nights in a self-contained motorhome and were without that core function for eight of them. Our trip was planned as a (at least for 24 hours) self-sufficient off-grid trip through Yosemite to Las Vegas, so the failure also cost us planned day hikes — we couldn't leave the vehicle too long/far because we had to manage power. El Monte's own On-Road Care acknowledged the fault in writing, but we were sent from shop to shop on the road, and the battery wasn't replaced until day eight at another branch. A worn-out battery is exactly what a pre-rental inspection should catch before handing a vehicle to a family for two weeks. The staff we dealt with were polite, but the inspection and maintenance let us down.

Had a great experience with El Monte RV in Dublin, CA. From check-in to the final walk-around, everything went smoothly and professionally. We drove nearly 3,000 miles over 16 days, and the 24-foot RV was updated, comfortable, and performed flawlessly throughout the trip.

We experienced one minor issue when the kitchen faucet began leaking on our last night, but since it happened at the very end of the trip, it wasn’t a significant inconvenience. Other than that, the entire rental process was seamless.

I would definitely rent from El Monte RV again and highly recommend the Dublin location to anyone looking for a hassle-free RV rental experience.

Almost Everything Was Perfect. Bedding was old and in bad dhapey. Had I know I would have only bought at Walmart and not pay for a rent of old and torn bedding and towel.
