I have now travelled 4 times with Explore Namibia.
The accommodations/camp sites are always booked accordingly to our expectations. Sometimes even above our expectations.
Suggestions and advices are always pertinent and well meant. Reply times can sometimes vary as the people in charge of your file go and visit the places they suggest.
The cars provided (with ASCO) are always good.

We had no experience traveling in Africa so needed someone to work with to organise basically everything for a self-drive trip over 4 weeks of Namibia. This included accommodation and car hire. They gave us a suggested itinerary which we adjusted to allow us to see some things of interest to us. The changes were done with no fuss and we were given an updated itinerary to view on-line each time.
Airport pickup and drop-off were part of the itinerary so we could just sit back and enjoy the experience from start to end.
Before we picked up our hire care we had a face-to-face final briefing and got our accommodation vouchers plus a printed copy of our itinerary that included things to see and route maps/driving instructions for every destination. This proved invaluable as we were off-line for most of the trip and referenced the hard copy itinerary a lot. I used it as a diary as well and have kept it as a souvenir.
We had no problems with the accommodation or vouchers. All the destinations expected us. We were able to just drive from place to place with confidence.
Would we do it again? Yes. Plan to go back in 2 years and we will use the Explore Namibia team again.

Our journey was organised perfectly by Explore Namibia, they choose the accommodations and made the reservations. We were really surprised with all the beautiful places where we spent the nights.
In advance we received a lot of information that was very usefull during the trip.

Wir haben uns auf dieser Reise perfekt aufgehoben gefühlt, sowohl was die gesamte Organisation betraf, die Locations, welche für uns gebucht wurden und das Material mit dem wir für die Reise ausgestattet wurden.
Es fing vorab schon mit der Planung an. Wir teilten unsere Wünsche mit und es entstand sehr schnell ein professioneller Reiseplan auf einer Internetseite, welche uns schon sehr früh mit Bildern und jede Menge informativen Links einen guten Eindruck über die Reise vermittelte. Wir wurden uns schnell einig und bei der Bezahlung erhielten wir auf Rükfrage Feedback, dass die Vorauszahlungen und finale Zahlung angekommen war - hier könnte man etwas proaktiver reagieren.
Wir erhielten kurz vor der Reise dann eine App, welche in sehr kompakter Form alle Informationen für unsere Reise enthielt, was sehr hilfreich war, da man alles an einer zentralen Stelle abrufbar hatte - riesiger Vorteil: alle wichtigen Information (Locations mit Buchungsnummern, Wegebeschreibungen, etc.) waren in dieser App lokal gespeichert und man brauchte kein Internet, was auf der Reise auch nicht immer zu Verfügung stand. Dann vor Ort wurden wir vom Flughafen pünktlich abgeholt, erhielten eine sehr umfassend Einweisung in unser Fahrzeug von einem sehr kompetenten Mechaniker und konnten alle unsere Fragen bzgl. der Technik loswerden. Dann erhielten wir von einer Mitarbeiterin der Agentur eine sehr umfassende Einweisung in alle Stationen unserer Reise und auch sämtliche Informationen, welche wir schon über die App in elektronischer Form vorliegen hatten, noch einmal in Papierform, was auch wieder ein sicheres Gefühl vermittelte. Und so gut wie der Start war, verlief auch die ganze Reise. Wann immer wir eine Frage hatten, war unsere Agentur für uns erreichbar und hat uns weitergeholfen. Alle Locations waren perfekt gebucht und es gab nie Schwierigkeiten. Die Wegebeschreibungen waren für uns sehr hilfreich und gut "nachfahrbar" und auch die Rückgabe des Fahrzeugs und der Rücktransport an den Flughafen verlief völlig problemfrei. Ein bessere Organisation und Durchführung unserer Reise hätten wir uns nicht wünschen können. Vielen Dank dafür und wir können eure Explore-Namibia nur allerwärmstens weiterempfehlen.

3 week-4x4Selfdrive journey in Namibia
we had a very good time and every thing went well. very good equipped car and nice campgrounds.

This was the third or the fourth time that I used the services of explore-namibia to help plan our journey in this beautiful country. They were very helpful with some good advice about new campsites I did not know about. (Camp Gecko, Oshana in Sesriem and Timbali). In the planning phase they contacted me when they discovered that prices at Timbali lodge went up to peak season prices in June. The tented camp was a very good alternative and in retrospect even better than staying at the lodge.
Their cooperation with ASCO Car Hire makes everything go very smooth when you arrive in Windhoek. We stayed one night in Windhoek and left the next day. Our journey included Naukluft, Sesriem, Camp Gecko, Spitzkoppe, Brandberg, Palmwag, Etosha (Olifantsrus and Okaukuejo) and Timbali.
All in all Explore-Namibia has a good feeling about what their customers want and I can strongly reccomend them whether you will visit Namibia for the first time or have travveld the country before.

We had the time of our life: everything was very well prepared in advance, resulting in a completely stress-free vacation, while still enjoying complete independence during our self-drive. Also, we were very happy about the selected accommodations — in short: I would highly recommend Explore-Africa to anyone!

Very unprofessional agency, be careful with agreements. They offered me vehicle which i requested Toyota Land Cruiser - we agreed with proposal and I filled all forms to proceed with reservation, however after 22 days they sent me message that that vehicle is not available. In meantime , due to late notice this same vehicle was booked in other agencies so i ended up in bad position.
Very unprofessional emails, delayed replies, lacking information about vehicle and process.
Additionally a few days after I asked for initial proposal - i called their NL office, lady was very rude and told me why am i calling if I sent out email, she added they will process my request.
Seems that didn't work.
Definitely avoid this scam agency.

I have used Explore Namibia agency twice and I would use it again.
That staff is very professional, helpful and punctual, particularly Hilma! :) The communication was very easy since the first contact.
From my point of view, the cars are very well maintained, with excellent tires!

We boekten een selfdrive bij explore Namibië. Riekie heeft ons heel goed geholpen met het samenstellen van onze reis van 4 weken met een 4x4 bushcamper van asco car hire.
Fijne organisatie!! Ook de app met onze persoonlijke reisgegevens hebben we veelvuldig gebruikt.

Wat een geweldige organisatie. In de maand December en Januari hebben wij een mooie tocht mogen maken in Namibie en Botswana. Explore Namibie heeft ons goed geholpen en advies gegeven naar een mooie route. Samen met hen hebben wij de reis van ons leven gehad. Alles is tot in de puntjes geregeld. Je krijgt een boekje mee met de route, wat er te zien is in de omgeving en zelfs de navigatie staat al ingesteld met de juiste coördinaten van heel de reis. De Loudges en campings waren ook fantastisch. Zonder zorgen hebben we een mooie reis gemaakt, bedankt hiervoor!

Explore Namibië heeft een geweldige reis voor ons georganiseerd. Het was zeer goed verzorgd, wat al begon met het heel verzorgde informatiepakket wat we kregen en de app. De accomodaties waren een goede variatie van plekken op mooie resorts en midden in een nationaal park tot plekken net een fenomenaal uitzicht. De reis zat qua afwisseling ook goed in elkaar, we hebben veel gezien maar ook voldoende tijd voor ontspanning gehad.

Samen met Riekie een reis samen gesteld en eind september vertrokken. Wij hebben 3 weken rondgetrokken door Namibië met een 4x4 en sliepen op de auto. Alles was in de puntjes verzorgt. Vooral heel veel plezier gehad van de app die Explore Namibia voor ons persoonlijk heeft gemaakt.
Een absolute aanrader !!!!

Great trip. Good planning in terns of driving and relaxation, all arranged well. Pre-arranged safaris were good and fun, booked extra walking safari on the spot. Nice locations of accommodation, particularly Otjiwa Safari Camp and Dolomite Camp (Etosha). Food at Dolomite and Etosha Safari Camp mediocre at best.

Super gave reis door Namibie en goede dienstverlening. Vragen werden heel erg snel en goed beantwoord. Zelfs toen we in de Dessert stonden was er hulp vanuit de reisorganisatie toen we een manknement hadden met onze auto. Echt heel erg fijn.

Overal is het heel goed geregeld. Voor de volledige kampeervakantie zou ik adviseren om niet na Ethosha, drie nachten bij een camping te overbruggen die niets kan bieden. Bij Onguma was er wel electra maar na 4 dagen ethosha konden we tussen het park en de campsite geen boodschappen doen. Dus hadden we 0 eten. Dan ben je aangewezen op voorzieningen van de lodge. Dit stond niet bij de beschrijving, was fijn om te weten zodat we iets meer boodschappen van tevoren hadden kunnen doen. Bij Waterberg was er vervolgens helemaal geen electra, zodat we de booschappen die we in het dorp ervoor wel hadden gekocht niet konden koelen. Gelukkig mochten we in de kleine koelkast van een receptionist gebruiken die op de campiste aan het werk was. Hier twee dagen verblijven op de camping was echt teveel, zonder electra. Verder zou het ons geholpen hebben als we zelf meer de plek in de stad mochten kiezen waar het hotel staat. Nu in Windshoek en Swakopmund lag de locatie van het Hotel echt afgelegen. En waren er totaal geen gasten, ook niet in de eetgelegenheden (wellicht corona impact), maar bij de duurdere hotels die meer in het toeristengebied lagen, was er genoeg volk in het hotel. Hoe de situatie ter plaatse is, is wel belangrijk in deze tijd, ook in verband met het gevoel van veiligheid. Als er niemand in het hotel is, en je hotel is helemaal dicht, dan straalt dat af op of je er eigenlijk wel wilt blijven. Als we de reis zelf hadden geboekt hadden we het hotel willen omboeken naar een plaats waar wel hotelgasten waren en een duurdere kamer. Bijvoorbeeld in Stellenbos.
Omdat we dit niet vantevoren wisten overviel de situatie ons ter plaatse ons, en waren we daar best teleurgesteld over. Verder was alles prima geregeld van ontvangst tot terugkeer naar het Airport ook door Asco Car Hire.

We hebben zelf onze reis uitgezet en rond gereisd in Namibie, maar hadden via Explore Africa onze auto gehuurd. Het contact was fijn. Ze zijn behulpzaam, sturen informatie en beantwoorden snel de mail. Ook hulp gehad bij wat nodig was omtrent Covid. In Namibie zelf was het huurbedrijf ook fijn en behulpzaam. Een prima auto, snelle afwikkeling, goede uitleg. Al en met een goede ervaring om hier te huren.
