I went to this spot just trying to grab a few basic things for the house and the whole place was straight trash. The store is unsafe as hell. You can’t even push a cart or stroller through the main aisles without running into random junk stacked everywhere—you literally have weave through clutter just to walk.

The cleanliness is even worse, real nasty. The food shelves had straight dirt and grime all over them. On top of that, the front was completely dead. Nobody was at the register, workers were nowhere to be found, and the whole front felt sketchy and off from the jump. When I finally spotted the manager, they had a whole attitude and were rude for no reason. I dropped everything, walked right out, and I’m definitely not stepping foot back in this place again.

Great customer service the young lady there I believe her name was Iris she was friendly, concerned about my visit to family dollar welcomed me in and made sure I found what I went in for. Had patience for children…

Terrible store!! Especially the Boardman store! I went there to run in for 1 item and when I came back out after waiting on the cashier to try to figure out how to do their job in a filthy store, I’m blocked in by a semi at 5 pm in the evening when everyone is trying to get home! When I asked them to move, the store employee ROBERT, cussed me out and told me to jump the curb illegally to get out! Then the truck driver proceeded to to cuss me out! I have the whole thing on video and plan to go viral! I will NEVER shop here again and am just hoping and praying for the day that this one closes down like all the rest and we get a GOOD store in town cause we badly need it! Harvest foods is better but is very busy at time, that’s why I came to this store and won’t be back EVER! They lose another LOCAL CUSTOMER 💯

This old lady that works there stood there and was talking to this man while I'm just waiting.......and waiting, finally she started working again taking her time. she rung up my things I handed her a twenty and she said you don't have to throw it at me!! I told I didn't throw it at you it's still in my hand and I would like to pay and get out of here if your done talking!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway she was the rudest saleslady I ever met and for that reason I will never go back into a family dollar store again.

My bad for forgetting it too, but when checking out and handed a bag, I took it and left without grabbing the toilet paper I paid for. You would think the cashier would have said "ma'am, your forgetting something. They just kept it. It took me a while to get to my car, so they didn't even bother.

Well well well Store number 12369 in Bryan Tx on Beck street. If you go in theee be prepared to feel like you’re still outside. It is so uncomfortable shopping in there and the workers I feel bad for said the air has been out for months.Wowwwww!!!! They really care about their customers and employees. I know what is being said if you don’t like it then don’t go I want and a few customers said the same. Shoutout to the employees that I would always see hang in there. went to website and asked for a dog collar was shown dog food instead if family dollar cannot present a better website then they will never receive any MONEY from myself!

Usually they have good products.but they should stop selling garbage electronics. Universal phone chargers are useless,they don't work. Speakers same issue.

Your registers are not set up to deposit paper money through cash app, despite what your website claims. "Invalid merchant" is the error message; it's not on cash apps end, it's on your end because the registers and the terminals are not set up for it

At location 1014 n 24 th st, ste 7 , phoenix, Az ,85008, I just made it 12 min til' 10 p.m. ,closing time,I entered & the big,fat,bully, female Hispanic cashier yelled at me that they're closed,I said it is not 10 yet,I just needed to grab a bag of chicken,I already know where it is at,near the register, & she yelled again,so I told her i'm gonna report her!The correct way to handle customers near closing time is to both greet them upon walking in & nicely,not rudely,but to nicely inform them that they have however many minutes left & closing at 10,then they could lock the doors at 10 & not let anyone else in.If they do this to the wrong people,they risk either not being listened to & whatever can happen from there,a weapon being pulled out on them,being assaulted,etc,so instead of thinking they're immune because of extra insulation,a rotten attitude,a grudge,a ghetto mentality,whatever it is,they should stop & realize that there are some that will do crazy things & not just report them!this store needs to train their new employees in so many ways obviously.You don't confront last min shoppers that may need 1-2 items,you lock the doors at the closing time,10,not before or there is the above risks.As for me & reporting them,this store's management needs to reprimand them & note the loss of extra $ in the minutes before closing!

I went by a store number 12226-595 Champion Drive Canton North Carolina. Always have been impressed how clean and stocked. Upon checkout, I was greeted by the rudest lady I've ever met. I had numerous items, including cat food visine ice cream bread and vitamins. I also had two 12 packs of beer. One was hot and one was cold. I merely asked that she keep them separate. I do not know how the register works. I just know I always I have to show ID when there is an alcohol product bought. She stated that she could see that I was old enough didn't need ID.
Then she blatantly said I'm tired of assholes today. All I wanted was the cold one separate from the hot one. All she had to say was yes sir we will do that. Instead she states that she is tired of assholes today. Well of course that pisses me off. I asked if she was the manager and she said she was and I could go ahead and call if I wanted to. Well I thought about it. Christine does not need to be in customer service. She clearly has a problem herself and passes it on to others. I have been in the store several times, and always been treated excellent. I guess this was my odd Day out to meet the realest manager of all. Again her name is Christine. She had no name tag on. I asked her her name and she said yes I'm the manager whoop you do.

Jamir at the Fulton Street location went up and beyond to help me. He was busy when I came in stocking shelves, asked if I needed help with anything and then helped me big time at check out!!! Wish more were like him. Great job and I will definitely be back to this store!

They sent me a $10 coupon. It had no date for use. I went today and it didn't work. I complained to the cashier and he lied and said it went through. The lie permanently lost a customer. I called Family Dollar Customer Service and got a smokescreen. Run for your life.

5397 Rockville Rd. Indianapolis 46224 location has rude staff and told me to take my business elsewhere, if I'd like to deposit my money into Chime because they were too lazy to count it with their counting machine, even though they had four employees and few customers. It's no wonder everybody goes to the Dollar General across the street, as they have a better selection and more professional employees.

Always friendly and courteous service

I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service at this Family Dollar location.( Mastic NY).I typically shop at a different store, but this one happens to be on my route home from work. After this experience, I will be reconsidering returning.
After a long workday, I stopped in to pick up a few items. Almost immediately, I noticed an employee who had been stocking shelves began following me through multiple aisles. This behavior was uncomfortable and unnecessary. No customer should feel as though they are being monitored or profiled while simply shopping.
When I proceeded to the register, the cashier did not greet me, despite acknowledging and greeting other customers ahead of me. I remained polite and continued with my transaction. Due to using digital payment through my phone, I experienced a connection issue and requested that the transaction be voided so I would not hold up the line. The cashier responded abruptly and unprofessionally, stating she could not do so.
As I attempted to resolve the issue, another customer kindly offered to pay, which I initially declined, as I had the funds but was experiencing a technical issue. Despite this, the situation escalated unnecessarily when the cashier loudly announced, “I refunded your EBT card,” in front of other customers.(I used Google Pay)
This was completely inappropriate, inaccurate, and a violation of basic customer privacy and respect. Not only was the statement incorrect, but no customer’s method of payment should ever be announced publicly. A simple, professional statement such as “your transaction has been refunded” would have been sufficient.
This experience was not only frustrating but deeply concerning. It reflects a lack of professionalism, poor customer service training, and behavior that can easily be perceived as discriminatory. Customers deserve to be treated with dignity and respect at all times.
I strongly encourage management to address these issues immediately. Proper training in customer service, communication, and respect for customer privacy is not optional—it is essential.

I have been a regular customer at the Family Dollar at 3315 Rivers Ave in North Charleston SC for the past few weeks. The assistant manager.....a Caucasian young lady.....has checked me out numerous times. She always has a smile on her face and is always very helpful. She goes above and beyond her duties in all she does. Family Dollar should be thankful for having someone like her. Also there is a younger gentleman that is sometimes there and on two occasions have directed me to the aisle where something I was looking for was located....that tells me he takes his job seriously. Again Family Dollar should feel fortunate to have these people. Family Dollar should take notice and recognize these individuals. My experience at this Family Dollar is always great because of them. I dont know what happens to these reviews but I hope these two individuals are make aware of the fact that customers appreciate them and come back because of them. This store gets 5 stars because of their efforts!!!

Family Dollar website is by far the worst one I have used. It is like a third grader put it together. My email address was changed over three years ago. I can't update it. I also can't open a new account with my current information because my phone number belongs to my "old" email address. I want to contact someone at Family Dollar, but thats impossible if its not one of their stupid pre-entered questions. No wonder Dollar General is cleaning their plow. I actually prefer the Family Dollar store, but I'm giving up. This company is being run by people with IQs of 80 who are trying to destroy the company. Thank God I don't own stock. I'm done. I quit trying.

I had a great experience at the Family Dollar in Pecos Texas, the clerk Beatrice was able to help me out. Very nice experience. Very organized store.

⭐️ One Star: Unacceptable Manager Conduct During Return

I am writing this review regarding my very poor experience at the Family Dollar store located at 200 E Pleasant Valley Blvd, Altoona, PA.
I went in to return a recently purchased defective can opener (poor product quality) with the receipt. The store manager on duty, Kelly, was immediately confrontational and unprofessional.
She refused to honor the return, claiming the item was "10 years old" and openly accused us of not purchasing it at that store, essentially calling my father a liar. She refused to help despite the valid proof of purchase.
The situation was only resolved when a second family member intervened and firmly insisted she follow the store's own return policy. Manager Kelly then completed the transaction silently.
A manager should not make a simple return an insulting personal confrontation. I hope Family Dollar addresses this manager's behavior and customer service skills immediately.
